Sometimes I wonder if / how my life would different if I had been born different sex NSFW
Does anyone else think about this? I know my gender identity would be the same, and my transition goal would’ve been the same. A smooth, V-shaped body with a penis and breasts.
Medical transition would’ve probably been “easier” by that I mean testosterone is very strictly controlled in my country, estrogen is much easier to access. If my body didn’t naturally make it, I would’ve gone on low-dose estrogen, just until I grew breasts, then probably come off HRT. Laser hair removal would be covered by my insurance. I would not have had to go through bottom surgery. Unless you count vasectomy as gender affirming care.
However I think my childhood would’ve been much more difficult and more traumatic. Where I live gender-nonconformity (in my case androgyny) in “girls” is more accepted compared to gender-nonconformity in “boys”. I would’ve faced a lot more bullying, harassment, homophobia growing up if I had been perceived as a “effeminate boy”.
I’m not saying it’s “easier” to be one AGAB over the other and I’m not playing oppression Olympics with trans women vs trans men. I’m specifically speaking for myself, about my own environment that I grew up in and my own medical transition goals.
