A few days ago I saw a guy pooping on the side of Benson Blvd and thought, “Man, we really had our priorities in order when we outlawed plastic bags. If only we could do straws next I think we’d really have done something great for this city”.
Saw a dudes nude spread rear-end in the vicinity of Barnes & noble, a block or two west, if I recall. He done-
did shite on the side of one of the through streets.
When I was a teenager back east, I remember coming off a train platform and there in the middle of the ( only) steps down was a huge fresh duke.
I told my older cousin who said (guido semi- outrage accent) “ ohhh! Disgusting. You want people to be human you’ve got to provide human facilities”
Fair enough, but I don’t know how that would work in this situation.
It does seem like this is getting worse and our trajectory is something like the cinematic triumph “demolition man”, with cast off sewer people living in filth and crime and the rest of us dining like kings at Taco Bell.
How far does this all go. Is there even a political or economic solution to this?
