LGBT Issues Can gay Arab men actually have a long term relationship and get married?

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

I’m a gay Arab man, and I’m wondering about something that I rarely see people talk about honestly.
For those of you who are gay/bi Arab men

have any of you actually managed to build a long-term relationship with another man and eventually get married or have a marriage-like commitment?

I’m not really looking for theoretical answers like ā€œof course it’s possibleā€ or ā€œjust move abroad.ā€ I’d really like to hear from people who have actually lived it.

If you’re comfortable sharing:

What country are you from / where do you live now?
Did your partner also come from an Arab/Muslim background?

How long have you been together?

Are you legally married, privately married, or in a long-term committed relationship?

Does your family know?

If they don’t know, how do you manage that long-term?

Did you have to move abroad to make it work?

What challenges have been the hardest?

And honestly — do you feel like you can build a normal, lasting life together?

I know everyone’s situation is different, so I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have been together for 5+ years or who have actually gotten married.

Please don’t turn this into a debate about religion or whether being gay is right/wrong. I’m just looking for real experiences from Arab men who have actually made a long-term relationship work.

LGBT Issues Ftm Femboy yap/rant

Being a ftm femboy isn't for the weak(ā ā•„ā ļ¹ā ā•„ā ), I constantly get called a "girl who fetishizes yaoi" or a "fake trans person" BY OTHER TRANS PEOPLE

We are in the same boat :'> why u hating. I get invalidated mostly by trans meds, even tho 99% of the time I dress masculine and I do have dysphoria and even in fem fits I wear my binder. But even if I didn't I'd still be valid as a trans guy, I hate that people tell others what they can and can't be or don't respect their gender because of the way they present

A trans man could be a literal barbie and he should be seen as a man. I just hate the transphobia in the community. Not every trans person is binary or gender conforming (I'm a binary trans guy who is gender non conforming). All my friends are cis men (and even they understand and accept me as a femboy) I understand that they can sometimes have troubles understanding gender expression and stuff but from other trans people I expect at least empathy for our own community, lately I saw a trans guy saying he doesn't believe in non binary people because you're either male or female(╯°▔°)╯︵ ┻━┻ we are in the same boat, we get insulted harassed assaulted and even killed for who we are, why are we hating on our own community and invalidating their experiences

LGBT Issues Family disgust

Thumbnail

Some late Saturday night thoughts I have to get off my chest.

The paradox of having a mother who is so loving and willing to bend the earth for you. A mother you love so much you would do anything for her. But she hates the concept of ā€˜gay’ so much that she shivers in disgust every time she hears about it. It sucks so hard because this has framed my view on life and love and I really don’t think I’ll ever be able to live openly. Ever be myself, which is really depressing. In the moments where we fight over some trivial thing, I think going no contact (which is the only path forward that might lead to me coming out) might be easy.

But in the moments where she is kind, worrying about me (which happens far more than not) I think my world would collapse if she ever turned that hatred on me, the hatred I get glimpses of each time someone even suggests I’m a bit fruity.

This leads me to wondering guiltily how it would feel to have a parent who celebrated me for me. Who accepted me for me. Who encouraged me to find love instead of put me off of it. Isn’t that something I deserve? Soemthing we all deserve?

But on the flip side, in those moments I think doesn’t she deserve a son who fulfils her desires as well. A son who can find a wife and settle down in a life of normalcy.

That contrast always breaks my mind and I’m left feeling numb. I wish I was different, I really do, but I am what I am. It seems the only way forward is to embrace that numbness because at this point what else is there?

I’m at the age where I should have had a meaningful first kiss with someone I’m actually attracted to. Should have been in a relationship with a guy I actually love. Should have worn the clothes I want to wear.

But such is human life.

I really couldn’t bring myself to edit this, getting it all out in once go was bad enough, so apologies if it reads like one long incoherent ramble session. Just had to get it out.

LGBT Issues We will never be able to name every single distinction we have from the default. This means, we will always be losing something if we focus on defining ourselves around these definable specific deviations, if we want to be inclusive we must define ourselves from the ground up

LGBT Issues Told my co worker who I’ve previously been good friends with and talked to on the daily, that I was bisexual. A month later, he blocks me on social media and doesn’t talk to me in person, how to deal?

He purposely ignores me now and talks to other coworkers instead of me and he doesn’t text me everyday like he used to. Should I just be up front with him and ask why cause I kinda miss talking to him in a bro way. Is this homophobic behavior, or just doesn’t like me as a person anymore?

44 yo combat vet. I’m a decent looking guy. My gf of 10 years is a smoke show. We have done some swinging. A lot of mfm. When I was in school I explored with a few guys. Mostly them blowing me. I topped one. Fast forward through life I’ve only been with woman. Where periods where when I was married I thought about guys. But nothing till now. This is over the top I’m ready to be a bottom and even explore with my current lady. I’m lost at where to start. I’m very open guy. A lot of different types then me on. But I think I like a more masculine guy. Now flip side I can also get off to cross dressing men. Jesus this is kinda confusing. Can what I’m looking for just show up in the middle of no where? Any help on where to find a bi guy. Even gay guy. It’s like. Why didn’t I do this yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaars ago? lol. South tulsa area.

CUSTOM FLAIR PLEASE EDIT Ciao a tutti, ci provo
