I kept forgetting to take my supposedly, highly addictive, Adderall. And then, when I set an alarm to remind me, and took them regularly. My body just got use to it and they no longer did anything... 🥲

Just started on it on too low a dose and not only do I often forget to take it, it sometimes makes me sleepy. Also it doesn’t do shit, because again, too low a dose. At least it was validating because it definitely confirmed I actually have ADHD because a neurotypical person wouldnt get sleepy on a stimulant like that :/

I often describe executive dysfunction as feeling like I’m pushing up against a brick wall. I don’t have much hope in there ever not being a wall there, but man would I love if it was, like, a slightly softer wall.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve heard that drowsiness is mostly common with doses too low? The stimulant is calming the hyperactivity but not doing enough for the focus and energy, so it makes you sleepy?

As a side note, I tried Wellbutrin around 6 months ago (for depression actually, this was before I knew I had adhd as well) and had the usual nothing for 4 ish weeks while the chemical levels worked their way up, then had 1 week where it worked gloriously, then had a nightmarish depressive episode so bad that there is a 2 month hole in my memories. Don’t want to go back on it because the dip was so awful, but that 1 week was legitimately the single best week of my life. Only time I have ever felt relief from my adhd symptoms, and my god was it so freeing. It’s done a lot to help me give more sympathy to myself, because it let me understand how deeply I am affected and how much extra I am struggling with in comparison to everyone else. My sincerest hope is that I find something that lets me go back to how I felt that week

Exactly. I explain to people it’s not like speed to me. I compare it to wearing glasses, things stop being foggy and become much clearer
