Can we please normalise wearing these feminine ladies?😫 Some of us are scared to approach you because we genuinely don’t know how to identify you as one of us. This bracelet/watch would make things so much easier. 😭

Connecting with other queer people

I've just moved back to Zim after uni, and before I had left, most of the people I knew were from school and we never really talked or had community. Now that I'm back, I'm looking for people to be friends with and connect and find my community :) (24 she/her)

Are there really no kind people left in Harare?

I'm a lesbian (27) who has been single for almost 2 years.

I really took this time to heal, grow and reflect. I am okay now. I am not actively looking to date but if love finds me I am welcome to it.

My friends however have had it with me. I am an introvert so I don't go out at all so I cant just meet people out there. All my past relationships started online, be it a DM or a dating app. (Which I am okay with honestly.) So when my friends ask me what I did over the weekend I usually just say, "sleep, read, doomscrolled, music" this is the problem in their eyes. I have been single for so long because I stay indoors and don't go meet people and I don't reply to DMs or I ghost easily. One friend even said she is fasting for me. πŸ˜‚

I don't think it's bad to be single and I don't think I'm lonely. I love my own company I find joy in my very boring hobbies and it brings me peace. I am no longer willing to settle and jeopardize it in the name of being boo'd up. So they asked me what my type is so that they can find me a match and I said:

KIND

SMART

EMOTIONALLY AVAILABLE

EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT

FUNNY

My friends said things like, "this is why you are still single, You think there are kind people in Harare" or "an emotionally available lesbian in 2026?" or "Oh so you are looking for the impossible?!"

But I am all these things (not sure about funny part but people laugh at my sentences from time to time.) How is it that we are all just gonna say these people don't exist anymore? I'm here!! Am I an anomally?

I am not willing to settle for anything less, these are my non negotiables. I am okay with being single forever if I can't find this. My friends say I am picky and have high standards but aren't these the literal pillars of a relationship?!

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Progressive laws in Zimbabwe

I have a question . Do you think that as a country, we will have progressive laws that protect members of the LGBTQ community, and can someone of influence aid in the formation of these laws ?

RANT πŸ˜€πŸ˜‘πŸ˜–πŸ˜  I don’t like being gay πŸ˜πŸ’€

I am 19 and for the longest time it’s been pretty easy to just spot that I am gay I try to play it off and all but everything about me is a glaring red flag and to make matters worse I love in the ghetto and everyone there is just soooo …… judgmental I feel like each and everyday I have to survive I can’t go outside cause it feels like everyone is staring at you and my family is super religious and homophobic so I can’t just like talk to anyone about it and most of gay guys are really huge A holes mostly want sex and nothing more I am at the point of giving up (not on life πŸ’€) it’s just too much I can’t deal with this for so long I have tried everything but I just feel like it’s always 1step forward and 3 steps back πŸ’€

Discussion πŸ’¬ Queerness and God

Question how do u guys deal with it? So when I was young, I used to be religious, like really religious, I prayed, read the Bible for fun, went to church every Sunday, but then I found out I was gay, which took a while to accept. In a way I guess when I found out I was gay, I kinda lost my connection to God.

In my mind I asked myself if God loved me why would he make me like this. At first I never knew that the Bible hated gay people, but when I found out that my own religion hates my own existence I kinda stopped going to church.

I then kinda fell Into this deep hole where I told myself God isn't real, which a part of me didn't believe, a part of me still wanted a connection with God. I then kinda fell into a depressive Era at form 1 , where I self harmed alot, telling myself that my existence is why this is happening to me (this Grade was alot for me) telling myself that God should have made me, and all that.

Form 2 to 3 I'd refuse to go to church, thinking how I felt out of place, every time I entered a church it felt like the lord himself was judging me on why I came to this place, it got to a point were I thought to myself I might burst into Flames at any moment.

Later into form 3 I stared going to church again, and for the first time I enjoyed it, I felt myself getting back my old self, the one that loved going going church, a part of me still tells myself that, why am I worshiping someone who hates my existence, but then I tell myself that if God didn't love me he wouldn't have made me.

Eight now I'm at a point whereby I just tell myself that my religion has nothing to do with my sexuality. I'm slowly trying to rebuild my relationship with the God. But I wonder how do u guys deal with it.

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Am I gay because I can't get girls ?

I had a conversation with someone, I asked what take they had on gays and he had said that he thinks it's because they are tired of girls or they cannot get girls. Another guy said that it's because they haven't had a taste of women even though some straight acting gays claim that they had girlfriends and did not seem to have any form of intimacy.

What do you actually think is the cause of being gay fellow Zimbabweans ?

Discussion πŸ’¬ Where to the plus size gays find love?

I think we all know just what the mlm community is like when you aren't the conventionally attractive skinny to mid build and or muscular man...you get brushed off real quick and while everyone's "solution" is just lose the weight but that is basically saying that plus sized people don't deserve to feel loved or desired...

So my friend was saying that I need to broaden my horizons but the question is broaden them to where beyond tinder and grindr. Like practical where does one go to find people who might find them interesting in this teapot country.

I could have been more articulate but I don't have it in me to better structure my thoughts rn

Having a specific type (femboys & femme trans people) feels like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Real talk: my type is definitely femboys and soft, ultra-femme trans individuals, but actually finding or connecting with anyone who fits that vibe feels practically impossible where I am.

I rarely cross paths with people who have that aesthetic and energy in daily life, and standard dating apps haven't been much help either. It feels like everyone is either strictly online or hiding in cities halfway across the world.

For anyone in the community or with similar preferences, Is this mostly a regional/location issue, or am I just looking in the wrong places? Where do people in these communities actually hang out, meet or look for genuine connections (both online and IRL)?

Would love to hear your experiences or advice on where to look.

We need to stop misgendering people and actually respect their pronouns!!!!!!!

I feel like this needs to be said because way too many people still act like someone's pronouns are somehow optional. Some eve believe they have the rright to dictact someones pronouns and its not okay!

If someone tells you they use certain pronouns, use them. It really isn't that complicated.

And this applies whether someone has transitioned medically, socially, or not at all. Not every trans person wants or is able to transition, and that doesn't make them any less trans. You don't need someone to β€œlook” a certain way before you respect who they are.

And if you genuinely mess up someone's pronouns? Apologise, correct yourself, and move on. Nobody expects perfection. The problem is when someone is repeatedly corrected and deliberately continues doing it anyway.

Also, if you see someone else being misgendered, don't just stand there if you can safely support them. Correcting someone respectfully, using the person's actual pronouns, or simply showing them some support can mean a lot.

We're here. We're queer. And we should be standing up for one another where we can.

You don't have to completely understand someone's identity to respect them as a person. Respect costs nothing.

Let's do better for each other. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Gay History

Whilst issues of being queer are taboo and not openly discussed unless it's to shame others or in religous settings .I still wonder what it was like being queer for the Senior LGBTQ members in the 80's,90's ,2000's and even the 2010's before social media was a thing .Did you guys find love?, how did you find self acceptance ,your gay awakening or even hookup culture in those times .I am open to hearing men/women/theys .I am curious because as much as its weird some people around our parents age were probably queer or some of our parents or grandparents were queer too but we never view them in that light because if the different setting of their times .But either way am just curious i feel there are a lot of interesting stories and queer history aming us that isn't often shared .Apologies if i sound disrespectful or ignorant i understand this is a sensitive topic.

The price of visibility.

I recently saw a video of a queer non conforming person in Bulawayo being assaulted. It has spawned jokes ,AI songs and vigilantes who harass the individual . I couldn't help but think of an interview by Laverne Cox who says " the more we are visible society acknowledges our existence but the more trans people of colour die " .A reminder to support those in our community who cannot be straight acting, turn it off or hide .It's their existence that will ultimately be our salvation.

General Post ✍️ How to make straight mature friends as a Queer Person

I (19 M) have always had typical straight friends because lets be honest most straight people are oblivous at the concept of somoeone being Queer plus being a slightly attractive male gives you the advantage of pretty privilege where guys hang with you because you pull women πŸ˜‰. But as i've grown i now want to express more of my character ( safely ofc) but having slight feminine interests/hobbies (reading ,art,Pilates,Runs)is boring to other men .So how do you guys end up having male or more straight male friends because as much as being on of the girls is nice ,we are still men and need to experience brotherhood.

A guy friend of mine ,who i thought was straight ,opened up to me that he watches gay porn lol ,I am personally straight and am a supporter of the lgbtq and he knows that. However I thought it was strange that he jerks off to gay porn when he is one of the most homophobic folks I have ever met πŸ˜† 🀣 πŸ˜‚, he says things like gay men should be killed in shona 😢πŸ«₯

I just wanted to share this beacuse of the hiposcry, anyways have a lovely day my darlings.

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Hey guys what are your thoughts on people that pretend to be queer ?

This came to my mind because my friend thinks that people are only gay because they want to be closer to women/men, clout farm etc. and it really doesn't sit well with me.

Could it be that the people that pretend to be gay have created a trend of portraying a false image that shows people that being gay is an act to gain popularity ?

It also gives me a question, should the people that make content through using queerness be cancelled since some do not actually give a real idea on what queer people really are ?

I'm open to hear from your opinions guys.
