Most of us don't know where or how to safely buy gadgets in Lusaka. I realized this while helping someone here who got scammed.
So let's crowdsource it:
Got scammed (or nearly)? What happened, and what red flag did you miss?
Know a seller or shop you trust? Tell us why.
Need a device? Comment your budget and what you're after, and we'll help in the thread?

I haven't checked out the place yet, but I'm hoping one of you guys have been there. What was your experience like? Were the prices reasonable for a student? And would you recommend it for a coffee date? I have an incoming coffee date. Further recommendations must be within the premises of the mall, thanks.

I got my NRC a few years ago, I was proud to officially be a citizen of this country. (Go to the next paragraph to skip my yapping) Fast forward to this year I'm trying to get a new sim from Zamtel, I thought the person registering made a mistake by putting my middle name as my first but apparently the order was wrong (well that's what he told me). I honestly thought my Airtel sim was registered with a mistake (because only my middle name appeared + my surname) but I was like "they already have my NRC number and anyway that should be ok"
Is the order Surname, First name then Middle name at the end and I would like to change my signature when I go to replace my NRC (lost) is there a particular process I'm supposed to follow to change my signature?

Realistically, how much does rural land cost within Lusaka or nearby areas like Chongwe, kafue?
I see plenty of sketchy posts on Facebook but I'm not trusting any of the stuff I see.
Anybody that bought land and has proper documentation from necessary governing systems, no issues over the years?

Greetings, anyone know where I can get water tested for microbes in Lusaka? I’m suspecting the water source at home might be contaminated.
Thanks in advance

I'm looking for a driving instructor. Someone to sit with me as I drive to work in the morning and then drive back with me around 17hrs.
This would be for 3-5 days only, just until I get comfortable with the route.
Please recommend someone affordable and reliable. You can DM me. 🙏🏿

Just for context, I’m not deaf but I’m interested in learning sign language and just want to know if there’s an an actual community in Zambia or if there’s a place people go to learn ASL or SASL in Zambia. I haven’t seen much content about it on social media besides the ZNBC interpreters but I’d really like any information you could share about this or even someone who’s privately learnt and what the experience has been like if you actively use it here.

Hi everyone, I’m 25 (female) now, but my mum passed away back in 2004 when I was very young. Growing up, my younger brother and I were left with nothing not even a piece of her clothing, a photograph, or a keepsake to remember her by. At the time, we were kids, so we had no idea what was happening or how things were handled.
Recently, I found out some very unsettling information: a cousin from her side of the family somehow ended up with my mum’s old bank card. It’s brought up a lot of painful questions and made me realize I have no idea what actually happened to her estate, her belongings, or any assets she might have had.
I am not looking for money or trying to start a massive family war. I just want answers, closure, and maybe even a few small mementos of my mum for me and my brother.
For anyone who has been through something similar or knows the legal side of things:
1. How do I go about finding out if a will was ever filed or if probate was opened after she passed in 2004?
2. If someone took or kept assets (like bank accounts or personal property) without distributing them to her legal next-of-kin (her children), what are our rights, even this many years later?
3. Where can I start looking for official records regarding her estate?
Any advice or guidance on how to navigate this gently would mean the world. Thank you.

There are a lot of people who sell things online here in Zambia( facebook marketplace and what’s app) but I’ve never come across a website selling stuff. For those people who do online sales, why is this never been considered and for those who considered it, why didn’t work out??

So I recently attended the premier of a new Zambian movie by Wyclif Mwamba. Initially it was hyped up to be the biggest thing to happen to Zambian since sliced bread. Well to my surprise we had to wait from 17 hours to about 21 before we found out the premier had been called off due to some technical difficulties.
So it turns out his crew didn't finish editing the movie till the day before its premier. Which led to an issue with uploading the movie on the actual day. But from what I noticed everyone seems to be blaming the devil for what happened but honestly speaking, a few questions have to be asked of the production crew
How do you make a premier date for a movie when its incomplete
During the day of the premier wycliff went on to say the reason of the delay was because of the people who were still waiting in the queue outside. Why couldn't he just have been honest with the thousand or so fans.
How couldn't they have pushed the premier to a later date if by the day of the premier if the movie wasn't ready.
Why is it that he hasn't said anything about the fans who actually went to see the show. No refund no compensation no nothing.
Its funny how these guys wonder why Zambian films are never taken seriously when this is the standard Zambian movies portray to the industry.
Anyway I traveled from kitwe with a few of my friends to watch it and was left disappointed and all I can see now are people siding with him. I mean to each their own. But honestly if we don't hold people accountable will the Zambian movie industry ever be taken seriously.
Note: I am a huge fan of Wyclif and was the sole reason I went to watch.

Maybe this is a stupid thing to ask and overall nugatory.
I am a 19M Zambian student currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering at the University of Zambia (UNZA). I am entering my second year and am considering transferring to a university abroad to complete my undergraduate degree.
I am seeking a scholarship that would cover tuition, accommodation, living expenses and, if possible, international travel.
I currently receive full sponsorship through Zambia's Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB). I understand that this sponsorship may not transfer to another institution, so I would need to secure adequate funding before making any decision to leave UNZA.
I'm hoping to find a university that would let me continue my second year and transfer my UNZA credits to the said university. But if those chances are so low, I don't think I would mind restarting the year.
I hear most people would complete their bachelors degree in Zambia, then pursue their master's degree abroad. Is that a plausible thing for me to consider doing too?
What's your advice? Ever been in the same situation? Should I just continue studying at UNZA and forget about it?

Let's go back to the past way before we were colonized to a time where witchcraft was not just a myth. Let's follow shimunenga as he fights to become the next war god. But for what we want most a price must be paid and the spirit exact a hefty tall.
