Local Restaurant Wing House
Has anyone in Ontario Canada tried Wing House? A new location just opened in the town by me and was wondering if they will be worth the trip or should I save my money

We're all fans of chicken wings here. Buffalo, BBQ, garlic parm, lemon pepper, we all pray under the same church of drums and flats, but there is a common argument that I believe is unnecessary: Ranch vs Blue Cheese.
I postulate that there is not a hard and fast reigning champion for either dressing. Instead, I believe there's a proper way to decide per restaurant.
Every place will have passable ranch. It may not be great, but it will work to serve to cut through the vinegar and spice level of the sauce of the wing. But not every place has a good Blue cheese. Bad ranch is still fine, bad Blue cheese is damn near inedible. So many times ive gone into a bar and their Blue cheese has some crazy vinegar ratio that makes it shelf stable at the cost of flavor. This often has the effect of making it taste quite like puke in my opinion. Strong acidity over rich and creamy with a funky undertone? Thats puke my guy.
All of this to say: Blue cheese is preferred when its good, but when its bad, ranch will always come in clutch. And its okay to want to be safe and stick with ranch.

Haven't been to one in ages. Went for a work lunch today. It was like you gave an alien the ingredients and asked him to do his best. The wings were sitting in a 1" thick layer of sauce on the top and nothing underneath. Like how does a wing restaurant not know how to toss wings? I got garlic parm and a hot buffalo and they were both bad. On top of all that, the service was terrible (and the place was dead).

But when they do...
These here are spicy lemon pepper served wet. It's a mix if their lemon pepper dry rub with their medium buffalo sauce. The hot sauce fumes went up my nose when they set them in front of me lol
Lakeline, NW Austin location.

I don't like saucing up my wings or dipping them in anything. What I like to do is take the bottle of whatever sauce and putting a little bit of it on the dry wing just before biting into it. My question is what's your favorite sauce when doing this?
Thank you!

The restaurant is called “Buffalo Hot Wings”. The owner agreed that it’s hard to find these style Chicken Wings in Europe. Meaning the naked fry and tossed in sauce. They are usually breaded or baked in Europe but still advertised as “buffalo wings” because of the iconic name. I asked him about expanding and he said he’s not interested. He wants to keep his shop small and satisfy his loyal customer base. Not all hero’s wear capes.

Buffalo wings with blue cheese. Breaded wings, not a fan but they were good. Sauce was very tasty, and had a creamy texture to it. $18 for a dozen. Not as bad as what I’ve seen with tourist prices on this road trip. I would eat again. Beer, it was fine. Didn’t get any togo.

Despite the "punch" in the name, it's not a drink but they will put Sour Patch Kids on your wings. Anyone gonna try?

I have been using my trager to cook my wings at home , they have been turning out pretty well but def lacking the crispiness a little. I don’t feel like dealing with my deep fryer all the time any suggestions on using the air fryer to finish the wings? I usually pull
My wings off the trager around 185 F internal would it make sense to cook to about 150 -160 then finish in the air fryer?

Spicy garlic + berry raspberry (spicy fruit combo like mango habanero)
Some of the best I’ve had, berry raspberry is probably the single best “sweet” flavor I’ve had, with a nice background spice.

Has to settle for lighthouse ranch instead of my usual homemade blue cheese.
Drink is a spiked Arnold Palmer.

It's called "Oil-blooming", I think so. What I did here was dry the wings in the fridge on a rack for 2-3 hours. Then, fried wings in batches, resting any cooked wings on a rack in the oven. The oven is set to the lowest setting, just to keep the wings warm.
Once the last batch of wings is nearly done, I added my seasonings to a metal bowl, mixed in a little of the hot oil, then tossed all of the wings together into the bowl. Lovely deep-fried wings with zero scorched seasonings 😋

Fried them after dry battering for 10 mins at 350 in a Dutch oven. Perfection.

Very good wings. Crispy, but still tender meat. The wings in front are called, “crack wings”. They are a honey garlic sauce. They were very good, but I would not consider them “crack” worthy. Would order again. The ones in back are their medium buffalo. Also very good, definitely not a medium hot. More like a mild buffalo. As mentioned I would go again if I was in the area.
