Bans will begin for violating the NSFW tag rule.

Hey folks. There have been a lot of reported posts lately for people posting underwear/swimwear progress photos without the NSFW tag. This is meant to be a place where people can find support throughout the day, not just outside business hours. If you're going to post NSFW progress photos, tag them accordingly.

This medication takes time to work.

Hey folks. In the last couple weeks there has been a significant number of "I'm on .25mg and I'm disappointed" posts. I just want to call out that .25mg is considered below the therapeutic threshold. Some people do feel a difference, but most people will not. Beyond that, Wegovy has a half life of one week, which means it builds up in your system for 4-5 weeks after any dosage adjustments and takes about as long to disappate after stopping it. People do lose weight quickly on Wegovy but it doesn't literally happen overnight. 1-2 lb a week is a healthy and perfectly reasonable rate of weightloss, even medicated weightloss. Additionally, remember that you still need to restrict your calories. The medication makes it easier to do so, but it isn't magic. You've still gotta put in the effort.

Progress Starting to taper down šŸ¤ž

Post image
41 Upvotes

Started mid Jan 2026, monthly increases from 0.25mg injections through to 2.4mg then held that till target weight. Dropped to 2.0mg (click counting) and now 1.7mg.

28kg (62lbs lost) from 126kg (278lbs) -> 98kg (216lbs).

Have been tracking calories using Bevel app, and tracking weight using Happy Scales app.

Powerlifting workouts 3x weekly since February. Squated 120kg (265lbs) for 5reps max, benched 72.5kg (160lbs) for 5 reps max, and deadlifted 145kg (320lbs) for 5 reps max this morning. So some progress there despite a few set backs.

Since tapering some slight increases in hunger and urges for snacks but just enough to get from deficit eating to maintenance calories so far.

Having to pause due to sciatica

Hello, this is just a cautionary tale. I started wegovy at the end of June, and are the end of July I started to experience sciatica pain.

Not a big deal, I have an issue with my back that means this happens every now and again. I ramp up my physio exercises and then it goes away.

Not this time. It's been getting progressively worse, and genuinely affecting my quality of life.

The first doctor I spoke to commented that it was peculiar that the pain started so close to starting a new medication, but the second doctor I spoke to today told me that there is some evidence that weightloss medication can "highlight" existing weaknesses in the body, due to muscle loss (not his words, I can't remember exactly how he put it).

I spoke to my prescriber (I was buying it privately) who suggested we pause it.

So I have decided to stop taking it for now.

I'm disappointed because, whilst my weightloss was very slow (I have lost about 6.5kg since July), it was still working for me. AND the medication stopped me from comfort eating when I was in pain (something that usually always happens to me).

I have started physio and new medication to help manage the pain.

This is just my experience, in case anyone else is going through the same thing. I am very open and willing to come back to it in the future, and in the meantime my goal is maintaining and not gaining (which I know will be different for me).

Question I’d love to hear from people who experienced good weight loss from the beginning

I am 33 year old woman
Starting weight: 97 kg 213Ibs
Current weight: 89 kg 196Ibs
Goal weight: 60-66kg 130-145Ibs
Height: 1.69 5 feet 6.5 inc

I didn’t lose any weight on the 0.25 mg, but I lost 4 kg (9 lbs) on 0.5 mg. My doctor then prescribed the 1.0 mg, but I was a little nervous about increasing it so I stayed on 0.75 mg for the next four weeks. I’ve lost another 4 kg during that time.
My doctor told me that they could increase my dose if I wanted to. What would you recommend? Should I move up to the higher dose? Would I lose more weight, or would it help suppress my appetite? Because I feel like sometimes I’m too hungry and I eat a lot.
I’ve also made significant changes to my diet. I’m eating much healthier and consuming a lot more protein than before. I used to eat very little protein and mainly ate vegetables and a lot of carbs. I never really ate fast food, but now I’ve almost completely cut out carbs and significantly increased my protein intake.
I’ve also been walking 10,000 steps a day, both before and after starting the medication.
I’m thinking about increasing my dose to 1.0 mg this month. What would you do in my situation? I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences!

7.2mg Question

Hello. I am due to inject my 4th pen on Sunday, in a month I’ve lost about 4 pounds but I’ve been maintaining 200lbs (started at 224lbs in January’06) I’ve been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds for a month now, however I was off of Wegovy for a month while my insurance played games. Now that I’m back on, I can’t really tell that it’s made a huge difference. Yes, I do eat less, but the ā€œfood noiseā€ is still here. I was hopping to drop at least 5-8 pounds this month, with such a huge jump from not being on 2.4mg for a month and then jumping straight into 7.2mg. The most I’ve gotten out of this is skin sensitivity all over my back, feels like I’ve been sunburned. Some days are better than others. How long before you’ve noticed any true weight loss while in 7.2mg? Should I switch to Zepbound?

Question Wegovy - passing out

Today I passed out for 10-15 minutes. I’ve been on Wegovy for about a year and half. There have been times where I’ve felt lightheaded if I get up too fast. This happened after taking my dog for a walk. I was standing in my kitchen, doing something, and then the next thing I know, I’m waking up on the floor completely disoriented. It felt like one of those naps you regret taking, like you wake up crankier or just not feeling great, takes time to come back to yourself, if that makes sense?

Anyways, I got up off the floor and went to my living room to sit down. I had a doctor’s appt early this morning, but when I was getting my bearings, I thought I had it at like 5pm, and i actually called the wrong office to ask what room number or building I was going into, the lady on the phone must have thought I was insane 😭 then when I finally checked my calendar I realized I had a hair appt at 5 and that I did in fact already go to the doctor early this morning.

I didn’t have a headache, just felt groggy. I called my PCP and the earliest they can get me in is Wednesday afternoon. This is not the first time I’ve passed out. The last incident I think was last March. There was another time I passed out work, but I think it was from my office being a million degrees. I can’t remember if that incident was before or after I started wegovy. That just felt like dozing off and then totally falling asleep, but I digress

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. My blood pleasure was totally fine at the doctor this morning. I don’t think it was low blood sugar. I could’ve gotten lightheaded after the walk? I was lucky I was home. Now I’m a little nervous something like this could happen while I’m driving…any insight would be helpful!

Question Two months on wegovy

Hi everyone! I’ve just completed two months on Wegovy. I started with 0.25 mg and increased to 0.5 mg in the second month.
I haven’t experienced any severe side effects, just mild nausea at the beginning and the day after my injections.
The main downside for me is constipation. Sometimes I can’t go to the toilet for up to a week.
I started at 85.5 kg, and after two months, I’ve managed to get down to 80.4 kg.
My question is: could the reason the number on the scale isn’t going down further be that I’m not having regular bowel movements? Or am I losing weight more slowly because I don’t have that much excess weight to lose?
I lost the first 4 kg in the first month, but only managed to lose 1 kg in the second month.
I go to the gym and track my calories as well. I’m female, 167 cm tall, and 26 years old.
I’d really appreciate some advice from those of you who have been taking Wegovy for longer. Is it worth continuing, or am I doing something wrong? Why am I not losing weight faster?
One more thing: I have insulin resistance, so I’m wondering if that could also make weight loss more difficult, but I’m not sure.
Sorry for any mispelling, my first language is not english.
Thank you for your replies!

Question regarding my eating schedule while on Wegovy

Historically, I have eaten five small meals a day to keep my blood sugar and metabolism steady. I have always thought that this way was the healthy way to eat. However, since starting Wegovy, I am generally less hungry now. When I force myself to eat these five small meals, it often seems to stimulate my appetite, which has been frustrating. I a now experiencing hunger that I didn’t even have before the meal. Like it triggers it. Anyone else experience this?

Should I transition away from the five-meal routine and instead only eat small meals when I naturally feel hungry? Or at least 3 meals- following the breakfast, lunch, dinner model? It has been a difficult habit to break, so I would appreciate your guidance on the best way to approach this.Ā

If this helps, I’m a soon to be 47 year old female, 5’8 ish (one doctor says 5’8 the other says 5’7 šŸ˜‚)Ā and 212 pounds and have been trying to aim for 1400 calories a day but tend to get to 1650-1700. I will take my 6th shot on Saturday (4 weeks on .25, and now on .5)

Thank you so much for any advice! And much positivity your way with your weight loss journey ā¤ļø

I'm 15st in the first pic, 12st 8 in the second one. The same dress a year apart. I'm proud of my progress and I'm hoping to lose a little more. Once I reach my goal weight which it 12st, then I will take the jab every other week as I'm still allowed to take it until October 27.

Does Wegovy make you sad

I seem more sad lately or less able to handle the bumps. I started Wegovy in March and I’m at my goal weight. I’ve also been on Wellbutrin for almost a year now for a little sadness but it seems more now. Anyone else experiencing this?

Wegovy is affecting my mood and it's not because I don't eat food

I've been on diets before, losing 20kg on keto, and before that 10kg on calorie counting. During those times my food intake was heavily restricted but my personality was the same. So don't give me those comments that I've seen on other posts that I am sad because I am not regulating my emotions with food. I really don't think that's it, and if it is, how come this didn't happen with normal dieting?

Now I'm on wegowy and I'm experiencing just a general dampening of motivation to do anything fun but especially socialising. I had always been an extrovert, really into social activities especially boardgames or city excursions. It wasn't about food or alcohol, I promise -- that's not what I'm talking about. I use to crave spending time with other people and having fun together. Now I just want to be on my own and maybe watch a movie. It feels like I have to force myself to do things I used to be excited about.

Question How much weight loss is possible while staying on the 4mg pill?

Lost almost 30 pounds so far. Been so sick on the 9mg pill this month. I’m likely going to have to go down to the 4mg pill again. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with having to titrate downward again and how it impacted their progress?

I’m really frustrated I can’t make the jump to the 25mg therapeutic dose as planned and feel like I failed and my progress will be negatively impacted.

Question Deciding not to increase my dose for now

Hello everyone!

I started on Wegovy 0.25mg a month ago. I lost 3lbs and I'm at my lowest weight in the past 2 years.

I have a miriad of metabolic issues and other chronic illnesses, and I believe they were making it impossible for the scale to go down

So far, I'm really happy. My IBS-D is now under control and the best it's been in 9 years.

My apetite has truly gone down. Only the week before my period I felt more hungry.

But, even if my weightloss hasn't been enormous, I decided against moving up doses.

At.0.25mg, I have hardly any side effects aside of mild nausea. I'm feeling better, more satiety, IBS-D controled, hardly any cravings, I have energy to exercise...

I think I will lose more weight now that the inflamation is going down

Maybe in the future I will go up to 0.5? But how should I know I need to increase hunger? Will my hunger come back?

1mg has me feeling it now

I started 1 mg 3 days ago and after months of not feeling anything and no weight loss, I am finally starting to feel it. I can’t even look at food without feeling disgusted. Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve been on 0.25,0.5 for the last months with no weight loss or appetite suppressant feeling.

Question Newbie

So I’m new-ish to Wegovy, been a lurker for a bit before even joining the community lol. I’m currently on .25 and last dose before increase is tomorrow.

I’ve seen posts about protein and my question, is protein better obtained from fairlife?

I can’t handle ensure max protein (it severely nauseated me before Wegovy and I am not lactose intolerant as I don’t react the same drinking plain milk lol).

Question Protein Shakes: Is it possible for them not to suck?

I can't get anywhere near enough protein and fiber without one, but I also don't like drinking cold gritty motor oil with banana shreds and tiny rocks (chia seeds). The premade ones are even worse. I add some Torani Creme de Banana to mine and it helps. Any tips or brands or something...anything lol.

Edit: Thank you everyone for the tips and info, it was more than I was expecting! So many people said the Fairlife ones which I have seen before. I had to stop at the grocery anyway so I grabbed a bottle of the Core Power Fairlife Vanilla Shake and baby, research is over. Stop drilling you hit oil. Thanks again everyone!

Increased hunger - time to move up so soon?

I’m in my 9th week (3.5 weeks since starting .5 dose) and only few days since jab day, and I’m finding only minimal appetite suppression and today I was shocked when my appetite really ramped up and I craved sweets so bad that I caved in and binged on chocolate cake šŸ˜ž
My question is, do you have days where your appetite/cravings and food control just hit you? Does it subside or would this be a sure sign that next week when my new pen is due, I should go up to 1mg? I don’t want to waste money on another .5 pen if I’m going to start going downhill again but also have only been on the .5 for just 4 weeks..
How long did you stay on .5 before going up to 1?
I guess I kinda thought that .5 I would be on it at least longer than 4 weeks but interested to hear if other found a surge in appetite and self control after just starting at .5?

Question Stomach Pain After Increasing Dose Wegovy Pill

I just moved from the 4mg Wegovy pill dose to the 9mg dose on Sunday. Last night I started feeling a cramp in my lower left side, and today it has turned into an overall discomfort of my entire abdomen. It’s not mega painful, it’s about a 3.5/4 on a scale of 1 to 10. I feel bloated like my stomach is extended and since I’m overweight it hurts mostly when I stand up or move and my stomach moves. Has this happened to anyone else? I can’t get into the doctor until next Tuesday and don’t want to pay for an ER visit if this is a normal side effect. Please share your experiences with me!

Just made the mistake of eating spicy chili oil noodles for lunch šŸ™ƒ

I started Wegovy 1.5 mg two weeks ago and luckily haven’t experienced any side effects… until today. I had the most delicious spicy chili oil noodles for lunch and my body was almost immediately like NOPE and I projectile vomited it all back up.

I feel fine now, so it was a good lesson to learn about spicy/oily foods. I won’t make that mistake again šŸ˜…

For folks who’ve been on Wegovy longer, how has your relationship with spicy/oily food changed?

Question What would you do differently?

Hi everyone! I (27F) start my Wegovy journey tomorrow morning! I’m sure like most of you, I have battled with my weight for most of my life and after trying so many different ways to get down to a healthy weight have decided that I would use this as a tool in my tool belt to help me get there.
My question for you you is what would you do differently about your journey or what did you do that you are so glad that you did? This could be as simple as drinking water. I’m just looking for ways to make the most out of this lifestyle change and minimize any regret.

Starting at 400lbs

I am looking to hear from women who started Wegovy around 400lbs.

What has your experience and progress been like?
