So I am forever confined on the current webtoon km working on which has its artsyle mimic that of a child's drawing since that's the only thing I could do with my skills. A webtoon from the perspective of 4 kids living through their violent and terrible lives while in the innocent view and perspective of children

A creature being stuck in an endless loop of tasks and trying to escape when finding the outside world is completely run down and rotten

An assist adopting a child originally to raise the kid to be a killer but developed a genuine love for the kid

Yeah those were my ideas for webtoons I could make if I could draw. But I can never do them. So I'll just keep making my current one. I mean I like making my current one I just like these ideas alot. Especially the 2nd one

I was raised on analogue and tactile media. I still love vinyl records, cassette tapes, physical books, and despise kindle. I miss when movies were shot on film, and when animation was hand drawn with pencil and ink. I don't know if I'm crazy, but I struggle so hard to connect with digital work...

Please hear me when I say I get it, and I appreciate what digital has allowed so many artists to achieve, myself included. I'm not poo-pooing it. It has value.

But as we start to lose physical media, transition to an economy where we own less and less, everything is a subscription or a lease, and AI is flooding our eyeballs with ghastly abominations, I feel like something very important is being lost, and it feels worth fighting for. To me, it's existential.

So - with that said...can we start a discussion about our favorite tactile animation, manga and webcomics? Not just looking at the past, but specifically looking at modern artists today who are reviving the feeling? Even if they are using digital tools, but still pursuing that organic, vintage look and feel?

A few recent examples I love are Goodbye, Lara, Go for It, Nakamura-kun!!, Look Back, Cocoon, and The Girl from the Other Side. All very different, but there's something about the texture, imperfect linework, and organic quality that I find so much more compelling. I'd love to discover more artists working in this direction, especially independent manga and Webtoon creators! Which are your favorites?

It's currently at 166 and I'm so excited!! It feels kinda crazy that people are actually reading it. 😵‍💫 I'm so happy. I use to always make stuff, but never post it cause I didn't think people would be interested so this is really cool!

Seriously, every time I post about my comic I want to hide myself in a pit! What’s your advice and where and how do you make your work known without feeling awful about it afterwards? Or will that feeling always linger? I honestly have no idea and am trying a bit of everything for now, but so far posting on Reddit has shown most success. Instagram is NOT reliable when it comes to advertising your work that you post outside that app. Just had a post go very very viral and literally got no new readers (guess because it was more of a meme post, but still, it had to do with the comic characters). But how do you do it? And what strategy worked for your comic? And how can I not feel annoying?? Or is that part of the job now?…
