This is kind of going to be a little long (sorry!) but I just have a question about adding my Wattpad writing to my college applications.

Over the past year or so, I've started to write on Wattpad as nothing more than a hobby. I really love reading and writing so it was sort of just for fun. It's original fiction, not fan fiction, and so far I've completed and published three, 70k+ words fiction novels (two romance, one murder mystery/thriller). Currently, I'm also writing two other romance novels that take place in the same world I created for my other two romance projects. Genuinely, this is just for fun.

I don't even want to apply to college as a creative writing or English major. I've actually always hated english as a class and really only like creative writing. I'm not applying to colleges just yet but I am at the point where I should be building my narrative, personal profile, and strengthening my ECs. I'm definitely going to continue writing just because I love it but I really haven't decided if I'm going to add it to applications in the future.

Idk it just feels a little "embarassing" and "dumb" and not, like, a "real" extra curicular compared to some pretty impressive things other kids add on their applications.

Between my three "books" I've gotten around 530k reads so I know that's a pretty large number but still i'm not sure if it's okay to include on applications.

I’ve been on Wattpad and writing for some time now. My first book gained some popularity and ranked 1st in a few tags, but it hasn’t gotten added to any reading list that I can remember.

So happy to see my second book of the series gain recognition and got added to a reading list from one of the ambassadors. I didn’t submit to it either, so J was quite surprised. 🥹

Hi! I recently started publishing my first novel on Wattpad and wanted to share it in case anyone here likes K-dramas with comedy and action.

**What it's about:** Yoon Bom is the best stunt double in Korea, but nobody knows her face. One day she has to jump off a rooftop wearing the helmet and jacket of Do Jae-yul, the country's biggest box-office star, famous for doing all his own dangerous stunts. (He doesn't do a single one: he's terrified of heights.) Mid-jump, the cable snaps. Someone cut it on purpose, and it wasn't meant for her.

That's how she ends up as his secret bodyguard, posing as his assistant, with a contract signed on a napkin at one in the morning. Seven clauses. The seventh: no falling in love.

Heads up: the story is written in Spanish.

There are 3 chapters so far, and I post a new one every 5 days. There'll be around 40 in total.

What captures readers attention? Media? Description? Book Cover/Title?

How many words is a standard chapter in Wattpad that is long enough to be detailed, but not too long that it'll bore readers?

What do i do with the first part/page, an intro or the first chapter?

I've been writing this cyberpunk Inspired superhero novel chapter by chapter and am 11 chapters deep currently writing 12 and I would love to get some feedback and See what you guys think because so far It's mostly just been Scammers and would love to hear.

I hope I tagged this right, as it seemed to read the flair was for OFFERING services rather than searching for them, lol. But I am seeing if it’s okay to use it this way.

Anywho, I am writing a female Malfoy (called “Malfoid” but I hate that term and the female “Draco” spins, her name is Seraphine Malfoy in my story) fanfiction. It’s a passion project and I’m unable to pay, but I’m looking for an artist and editor to team up with as I work through this. All credits and rights will remain with artist, and credit will go to both the artist and editor(s) through the process of this story!

Screenshots are of my author’s note that explains some of what’s to come and my early decisions, as well as the prologue to garner interest in the project. I can send over chapter one too. These took forever to work through on my own, hence why I’m looking for an editor to help me, lol.

i thought i'd make a little introduction since i'm new here!

You can call me dattexo. I'm an aspiring writer who loves creating characters, imagining fictional worlds, and coming up with stories (and fanfics) that hopefully make people feel something.

I'm still learning and figuring things out as i go, and english isn't my first language, so i'm hoping to improve my writing along the way, too!

I'm especially fond of fantasy, mystery, melancholic stories, and anything that makes you sit there for a while after finishing it, just thinking about life and ficitional characters that have somehow become a little too important to you. :')

(Currently i'm working on an Attack on Titan Fanfic about Jean x Marco, since i think they are soulmates and deserve a lot better)

I'm really excited to meet other writers and readers, discover new stories, and hopefully make some friends along the way!

I'm still not writing and I can't put myself in the mood or headspace to write.

I'm still upset about not being able to access my Samsung Notes (not all of it was story-related stuff, some of it was, but still). I posted about this before, but those who don't remember, my last phone shut off and won't turn back on. Suspected motherboard short. Can't afford motherboard repair or expensive data recovery. Samsung Notes weren't backed up. Most of my story stuff was saved on Google Docs, fortunately, but I'm still upset about the notes I can't access.

That's on top of my already existing worries.

I just don't want to put in the effort writing something, with the stress, self-anger, and intense frustration that comes with it, only for people to question whether I actually wrote it/came up with it after all of that.

And that ⬆️ doesn't help my imposter syndrome, intrusive thoughts, and self-doubt at all. It just feeds it and makes it worse.

But while I can't put myself in a mood and headspace to write, I know at the end of my life, I'm gonna regret not getting my writing done because that means leaving the world and not leaving anything behind which means no legacy for me. I might not be able to put myself in the mood and headspace to write, but I feel so horrible and just so empty inside and so down at the end of the day when another day has went by and I hadn't wrote anything.

I'm not posting this for attention. But just to vent and seek some support and reassurance, I guess.

Anyone else can relate?

TLDR:
Building along with fablespace, the better version of wattpad.

Actually was able to get some suggestions and ideas. A community member reached out to me building something similar.

So joining them to build fablespace a perfect platform. Hopefully we are able to get most of the feedback in.
