40k Tactica Best disposition for DG

I’m debating weather to go purge the foe or priority assets with DG for a RTT next month

If I do purge I’m doing virulent vectorum with Morty,LOC+DST,DP with RR,10 PM+biologus+plauge caster in a rhino, defiler, 10 blight lord termies with either tall man or 10 poxwalekrs not sure which yet and feels very pressurized but SUPER anemic stat check

And

If I do priority I was gonna maybe try something with tallyband and paragons of putrescence maybe? Haven’t made a list for it yet

But I really want to use Morty and withe the drops to blight Lord temries I have been wanting to use them too also with this my first try at death guard I’ve had the army for a bit but never played them out of favoring other armies ATM but feel like busting them out right now

Take and Hold, especially as VV. Forcing the enemy to step into our range to prevent passive scoring is ideal, and you can focus on playing a triangle between your home, your natural and the center.

I think you can play that list but in take and hold pretty well.

I think with purge the marine brick is a liability because they're so fragile.

I'd rather have a second defiler or some other vehicles.

Even with the sustained and lethal 5+ with full re roll to hit and wounds strat?

They kill a lot, but the problem isn't damage, for purge you want to be durable as well to deny your opponent kills.

DG is quite elite so I quite like Purge for DG as there are some primary requirements in that mission set to kill more than your opponent so we do have some advantages in that situation.

Weirdly I think we can do all of them decently well with new Dispo updates and I'll explain why.

Take and Hold: VV or Champs - big tanky bricks who have solid defensive strats and can clap back hard. VV is probably favourable but I've seen success with Champs. Blightlords, Morty, Defilers, Daemon Princes are your key units.

Purge: Was previously probably one of our worst but with VV gaining purge, I think there is room there. Good offense, defense, utility. Morty, Defilers, Winged DP, Foot DP, drones, haulers and terminators.

Prio: DLC, PoP - great utility, can field lots of units, nice array of strats. Terminators, Winged DP, character units.

Disruption: Shamblerot or Tallyband - Poxwalkers or Daemons and a dream. Poxwalkers, Defilers, Morty, Greater Daemons.

Recon: Contagion Engines or Flyblown - arguably our worst, and my least experienced. Drones, Haulers, Marines, Chaos Spawn, Winged DP.

Purge requires mobility to play into every matchup, and you don't have enough activations for Priority. I'd go with T&H if that's an option

Priority.

Death guard are awful at take and hold. Their too slow to react to anything and losing multiple objectives with take and hold is a death sentence.

Their better units are also horrifically expensive so while you may have tough units, they don't actually die slower then regular Marines.

What about purge?

Slow armies don't do purge well. What happen if you lose your drones early and/or fail that one Deathshroud charge?

Well my purge list doesn’t have any drones it’s a defiler, Morty, 10 blight lords to jump down and blast with the re roll strat and PM brick with crits 5+ Sus and lethal with re roll Strat the death shroud charge you got a point there

There's your problem.

You have no mobility. Your list will be isolated and picked apart pretty easily. If someone forces you off primary your pretty much sitting in the water.

Blightlords don't need outside rerolls. You run them with a Lord of virulence for the reroll 1s to hit, reroll blast and reroll wounds ability. That way you can spend strats elsewhere.
