PES 2013 ?
I’ve never actually played this game before and was wondering what was it about the gameplay and ML that made it so loved by people ?
Also was the edit mode in this as deep as in the PS2 era PES games ?

I’ve watched a couple of gameplay videos where the shooting seems very sensitive similar to PES 6 where not much power was needed is that accurate ?

No, it's not like that at all. Shooting is really floaty in the 1.00 exe, but if you patch it to 1.04 exe it becomes alright since kicking power is buffed a lot.

The gameplay is very dated by today's standards, but back then it was amazing. It was like a perfected and more polished version of 2011 and 2012.
It had a huge amount of master league and become a legend features too (easily the best become a legend in the franchise since Konami abandoned it in the fox engine games). In my opinion PES 21 has a better master league but 2013 has many features that 21 doesn't and especially for the time it's incredible.
The thing I hate about it most is how clunky the 360 degree movement is. Konami only really perfected it in PES 2015 and later.

The gameplay itself is quite clunky and basic compared to Pes 2021 but the master league is very good, maybe the most realistic ML I've seen (boots aside).
You have to manage hiring staff like the fitness coach, doctor etc and each of them have an impact on the squad (stamina recovery, injury recovery etc).
Transfers also seem quite realistic. There's a lot of transfers within a league. You'll often see clubs send their lower rated or younger players on loan to other clubs within the same league.
Player ratings also seem tied to their performance a lot more too. Older players will plummet in rating but if you can get them playing well, you can slow down that drop or even see a slight increase in rating.

It really mastered player ID so a lot of the top players felt unique to play with. The game play was a pretty nice balance between simulation and arcade and it seems they nailed a lot of things right at the end of the generation like with PES 6. Edit mode was deeper with stadium creator too.
