free kicks feels too easy in the game i think? and like if you look at the last replay clip keeper really look like he took 10 business days to even process that there is a free kick shot..

There is certainly a sweet spot for scoring them, I'd say between 23-28m from goal. But you'd still probably need a taker with at least 80-85 skill to do so regularly, meaning 1 every 2-3 attempts. Keeper ability and wall's reaction do play a part as well, and these can often vary.
