Lost Property

• Upvotes

I was in Port d'andratx on Tuesday evening. The next morning I realised I had lost my purse. I'm pretty sure I lost it in a taxi coming back to Camp de Mar.

Is there a Lost Property in the area or can anybody suggest how I may find out if a taxi driver has found it?

Torrent de Pareis

Hello

Me and my friend would like to do the torrent de pareis hike from escorca tomorrow. There is a problem with accesability because there is no bus from sa calobra back to escorca. So I wanted to ask if some other people would like to do it together so we can leave one car in sa calobra and go with the other car to escorca together.

Have some of you done the hike already how did you get there?

Sol Katmandu Park & Resort with a young child – what I wish I had known before booking

Sol Katmandu Park & Resort with a young child – what I wish I had known before booking

We stayed at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort in Magaluf in September 2026 with our young child.

I’m posting this because before booking I saw the hotel heavily presented as a family resort, and I think there are a few things parents should know before deciding.

The biggest issue for us was the location and night-time noise.

The hotel itself did try to help after we complained and moved us to another room, where the noise was somewhat lower. But the real problem is the surrounding area.

There are many bars, nightlife venues and adult-oriented clubs nearby, and we repeatedly heard intoxicated people shouting in the streets until around 5–6 AM.

Of course, the hotel cannot control public streets, but this is something I personally would have wanted to know before booking a family holiday with a small child.

Another issue was cleanliness.

In our second room there were visible signs of mould on the silicone in the shower. The bed linen had been washed but still had visible stains, and the extra mattress intended for our child was visibly dirty.

We also found the hotel generally more worn and less thoroughly cleaned than we expected from a 4-star property.

Another thing that surprised us was how many paid arcade machines there are throughout the hotel.

They are very visible, with flashing lights, sounds and bright colours, and almost every machine requires additional payment.

As a parent, I sometimes felt like we were constantly walking through an amusement arcade. One or two machines would not bother me, but there were enough of them that our child was constantly being attracted to another one.

The food itself was average.

Breakfast became repetitive after only a few days, there was limited variety in fruit and vegetables, drinks were mainly from dispensers, and normal dining drinks were generally served in plastic cups.

The coffee was also below what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.

We also had issues with hotel rules not being enforced consistently.

Smoking happened in areas where it was prohibited, and children were using laser pointers despite them being explicitly banned. In our experience, staff often reacted only after someone complained.

The Katmandu Park concept itself is good, and I completely understand why many children love it.

But for us there was a big difference between the image of a 4-star family resort and the actual experience.

If we had known beforehand about:

  • the intense nightlife nearby,
  • noise until early morning,
  • the cleanliness issues,
  • the large number of paid arcade machines,
  • and the overall atmosphere,

we would not have chosen this hotel for a family holiday with a young child.

This is not meant as a “hate post” about the hotel. The staff did try to help with the room change.

I’m posting it because I would have appreciated reading this perspective before booking.

Happy to answer questions from anyone considering the hotel.

Travelling with a child (4 years) and getting a cab? Child car seat etc

I’m looking at transport options from the airport to the hotel which is about 5 miles away but requires the driver to use the motorway. Can anyone recommend a service that isn’t overpriced but will cater to a child seat requirement?
Really would appreciate any info! Thanks

Hey there, I (M46) from Ireland will be visiting Mallorca and was wondering if anyone wanted to do some fun activities together. I'll be traveling mostly by public transport. I love hiking and sightseeing. I'm also a big food lover so looking to try some local specialities and maybe even a wine tour who knows.

Up for anything really, give me a shout if you're up for it.

Safe travels everyone.

Going to Mallorca from 16-20 October and this is the current forecast for Palma. Those of you who live in Mallorca or have visited in October: should I be worried, or is this one of those Mediterranean forecasts that shows rain every day but ends up being just a few showers? We're mainly interested in exploring Palma, visiting villages, enjoying the scenery and hopefully getting a bit of beach time.Would you still go ahead with the trip based on this forecast? Thanks!

Restaurant Empfehlungen

Solo traveller here, looking to meet up with other travellers/locals

Hey everyone, I’m(21M) currently in Mallorca and would love to meet up with some locals/travellers while I’m here to explore the island better. I’m here until the 19th, and I love nature and hiking. I do love the beaches as well, and I have a loose itinerary already planned, but nothing fixed yet, so I’m compelled flexible if anyone is down to meet up. If you’re free to hang out in the next few days, comment on this post or dm me. Cheers 👋

Should I have my lost suitcase delivered to a remote Airbnb or just leave it in Düsseldorf?

Hi everyone! I could really use some advice, and I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced something similar.

A friend and I flew from Düsseldorf to Palma early this morning (or rather, during the night). Checking in our luggage was an absolute disaster because there were apparently technical issues with the baggage system. Even though we arrived at the airport two hours before departure, we were still stuck at the check-in counter when boarding had already started. We had to literally run through the airport and only just made it onto the plane in time.

When we arrived in Palma, we found out that my suitcase had been left behind in Düsseldorf and never made it onto our flight.

The guy at the lost luggage desk told me that my suitcase would be delivered to our Airbnb. The problem is that our Airbnb is in the middle of nowhere, near a small town. Even our host said that the postal service probably wouldn't be able to find the place, as it doesn't even have an official address.

Now I'm really torn about what to do. Should I just go ahead with the delivery and hope that the suitcase ends up at a parcel shop in the nearby town? My friend has her suitcase, so I can borrow some of her clothes, and we also have a washing machine.

Do you think I should risk having it delivered here, or would it be better to leave the suitcase in Düsseldorf until I can arrange something else? I'm worried it might never arrive. There aren't actually any particularly valuable items in it, but some of the things have sentimental value to me.

Greetings from Mallorca lol

Any places worth driving to?

Hello all, I'm with my wife in Santa Ponca in a resort, and we've mostly been to the main beach and visited the Aquarium in Palma.

We're planning to rent a car for about 4 days because we'd like to drive to some more far away places that are worth the drive. Beaches are good but don't necessarily have to be beaches, as we want to see some cool places and make some memories (we're also with our 3yo toddler btw). I know "hidden gems" is a term thrown around too much and nothing is hidden anymore, but I'd appreciate if anyone has any coold ideas.

Thanks!

GR221 - Bed Bugs

Hello everyone,
I stayed at Urban Hostel Palma on the 6th and 7th of October, Refugio Muleta on the 8th, and Refugio Tossals Verds on the 9th, and subsequently developed severe, extremely itchy bites from bedbugs (there is no doubt given the way they manifested and it has now been confirmed by the doctor).
Please take extra care. I will contact all the accommodation.

Planning a trip first week of December

Hi,

My fiance and I are visiting Mallorca the first week of December and are looking for tips/places/experiences to go for our trip. Our main reason for the trip is to tour some venues for our wedding destination (sept 2028) but also to explore the island and see all the beauty it has to offer. We are planning on spending most of our time in Palma and Soller, since that is where our venues are located for touring. We love history, hiking, food/drinking, and trying new things. If you have any specific recommendations on where to stay/what to do please let me know!

hey all, we have never been to Majorca before and really after some advice or feedback. we are a family of 4 looking to visit end of July 2027 but we have a strict 3K budget and found the above hotel. has anyone been and can recommend? trip advisor ratings aren't terrible but we trusted that this year to tenerife and although it was a good holiday, the entertainment etc in the evening was terrible for the adults AND the children which was a bit gutting. basically just want to know if this is gonna be better and worth doing as we are ready to cross the Ts and dot the Is on our next adventure
