Contest October 2026 Flag Design Contest - Redesign the flags of Poland and/or Indonesia, and/or Monaco
Prompt: Redesign the flags of Poland and/or Indonesia, and/or Monaco
This October, we want you to redesign three flags which are notoriously easy to confuse with one another
We want you to create redesigns of the flags of the following three countries, with the aim of making each one more visually distinctive from the other two
You are free to change the proportions, arrangement, symbols, shades, or other elements of the existing designs.
DO NOT show your design ANYWHERE ELSE on the subreddit before the contest is over.
No more than TWO flag designs per entrant. You can either do two designs for one country, or one design EACH for two different countries.
Submission deadline is Sunday 18th October 2026. Voting will begin on Monday 19th October and end on Tuesday 27th October.
To submit a redesign of Poland, click here.
If you have a redesign of Indonesia, this link is where to go
For anyone wanting to redesign Monaco, the best place to send it to is here

OC My hand-drawn List of Flags of the Holy Roman Empire (962–1806)
Tracing a linear history of the flags of the Holy Roman Empire is a highly complex undertaking, primarily due to the scarcity of sources and, where sources do exist, the inconsistencies between them. This project, created months ago specifically to be unveiled upon reaching the milestone of 10,000 followers on IG, can finally see the light of day and, hopefully, meet with your approval. I had previously put together an overview of flags from the Holy Roman Empire, but that was a long time ago. Even then, I wasn’t satisfied with it; it was incomplete, lacking in information, and visually inferior to my current style. I promised myself that, sooner or later, I would create a remake though for a long time, it remained nothing more than an occasional thought. A few months ago, however, I began conducting extensive research consulting books, websites, historical miniatures, and various other images which has successfully led to the result you see here today 🥹

Current Flag of the upcoming Brno mayor and his electoral coalition.
The local election in Brno (Czechia) was won by a coalition of Lidovci (Christian democratic people's party) and STAN (mayors and independents). During the reporting, I saw this flag behind the coalition leader and I thought it very interesting.
Lidovci traditionally use yellow and STAN tends to use pink in their material. This flag combines their two colors with a pear. The pear stands for their election leader - Jakub Hruška (Jacob Pear).
Really clever design in my opinion.
Absolute flag design.

Identify Can anyone ID this flag?
At first I thought it was fascist Italy but the entire crest on that one is just the upper left corner of the crest on this one. But I'm still wondering if this one also has fascist implications

OC Flag for the Turkish communist Left
Disclaimer: I'm Spanish, My English isn't good
Explanation:
The spark comes from "Kıvılcımlı", the main figure of the Turkish communist left, whose name means "spark" in Turkish.
The spark also symbolizes their perspective of the revolution, because they believe the sacrifice of the members of the party can wake up the masses and start the struggle
The gears come from the fact that some left wing movements in Turkey replaced the stickle with gears because they reject the peasants

OC Flag of Canassar, a fictional country in the North Pacific
First post here!
I've been working on a fictional country called Canassar for a while now, and this is its flag.
The flower is called the seyhindäl, a fictional six-petalled variety of common myrtle. It's also Canassar's national flower.
The flag originally had just the yellow flower on a white background, but the red stripe was added later, because I felt the yellow on white made the emblem disappear into the white if I'm looking at it from far away.
That said, I decided to keep the yellow flower because there's supposed to be an in-world meaning behind it: the golden flower represents the connection between the divine universe (the white field) and the mortal world, represented by the red stripe.
What do you think?

OC Flag for South America
It features the Sun of May, representing the Southern Cone and the Andes; it also incorporates the colors of the tricolor mirandino. The green border, along with the blue circle in the center, represents Brazil, while the stars stand for the 12 sovereign South American states and French Guiana. Originally, I intended for the stars to represent constellations much like on the Brazilian flag, but it ended up looking a bit odd. I also considered representing the Andes with a rainbow, but in the end, I decided to stick with just the Sun of May.

Current Saint Martin has begun a voting period for it's first flag!
https://www.mysaintmartinflag.com/en
Since 2007, Saint-Martin has been an Overseas Collectivité with its own governance and institutional autonomy. However, we do not yet have an official symbol that fully reflects our identity, our history, our culture, and our unique way of living together.
This project aims to fill this gap. The Collectivité of Saint-Martin is launching the creation of its flag within a participatory, transparent, and rigorous framework. This flag will not be decreed; it will be built collectively, based on your contributions.

OC The Fourth addition to the series of my custom flags
The third addition to a series where I show 3 of my custom flags! (These are not real, Inspired by real ones at most)
(More info of the Events or other things mentioned are going to be at the bottom of the post).
1st Flag: Proege
A country in the east side of Porogo, and used to be a kingdom under tyrant rulers, until a citizen uprising started at the end of The War of Porogo caused the Overthrowing of the King
The flag features a simple tri-color design, red at the top, black in the middle, and yellow at the bottom.
2nd flag: Sharpfield
A minor counrty in the north side of Porogo, but served a Major role in The War of Porogo.
The flag is a simple white flag with a blue square in the top left corner, and a long black line through the middle.
3rd flag: The Republic of Yacra
A short lived free Republic, later annexed by the UAL in The Treaty of Yacra Annexation.
It features a Blue flag with a white border, a white Lebanon Cedar Tree Emblem, and white text below it saying "The Yacra Republic".
Events and other mentions:
Porogo: A continent in the Fictional World of Garunha, basically this world's version of Europe
Garunha: The fictional Planet these fictional countries are at.
The War of Porogo: A great war spread through all of Porogo in 1864 with the North-Western powers, and the South-eastern powers. The involvement of other nations outside of Porogo was purely of aiding one side or the other with materials, weapons, and soldiers.
The Treaty of Yacra Annexation: A treaty signed by UAL General Tomat Augurn, and Yacran General Ford Ingustine, to officially Annex the Republic of Yacra as a State under the UAL. (Basically what happened with California)
