I had the turn option, I'm gonna be honest I knew it was the "right" choice but didn't want to sacrifice the XP so I spared him instead.

When I woke up after sleeping the next day 2 people went missing. I am willing to accept the consequences just for the fact that I really do not want to restart this game. I really just want to know if more and more people are going to get killed by Sean at the docks as I sleep, because If so I will just embrace them all myself as to not have the XP be wasted. Thanks.

EDIT: if anyone sees this i did finish the game. And even with what happened to Sean as long as i kept everyone left (i embraced no one at The Docks) healed regularly and convinced that guy in the sewers to go home i kept the district at a low 'stable'. I got the "bad ending" but i wasn't too upset about it because despite her being the clear love interest, I didn't care for Lady Ashbury at all. Their romance was unconvincing to me. Great game though, i loved the combat. Will replay again at a later time for the "worst ending".

May do the "best ending" further down the road but I struggled with some of the boss fights even having ate several people (I ended the game at level 31 iirc) So i'm not really in a rush to do it. I really wish this game had gun powder and allowed you to craft bullets, or at least had more than just one merchant who sold them.

Why I can't find Dyson after embracing Sean? He disspeared but it's showing me he's alive and ill, I couldn't find him at all, I slept and everything

Before I played I heard that this game has bad combat, and given my experience with Banishers ghost of New Eden, another game by the same dev, I could see why.

Now, after having played it, while combat isnt on the same caliber as some of the best combats in video games (Souls games, Modern Doom, DMC, Arkham series, Mordor series, etc.) it is still pretty enjoyable, and Id even say its better than many other games I love. Dodging feels good. Most abilities feel great to use, and makes me feel like a proper vampire. Enemies variety is good. As long as your Jonathan are neither too underleveled or overleveled Id say combat feels pretty fun. Alongside with the excellent embracing system the combat makes this game a true vampire power fantasy to me.

I finished the game about a week ago, and im only writing my thoughts now to avoid recency bias.

I still dont understand the hate, I feel like this is a very niche genre so many people might not understand it, especially if they dont enjoy arriving at a town and spending an hour just going through all the citizen's dialogue trees, but that's the genre, and you cant hate it for what its not.

As for the combat, I really didn't have issues, I systematically completed all the side missions as I went along, I feel like I spent more time on those sometimes than the main objectives. I used all my XP pretty well on abilities that I preferred instead of just buying random things.

I collected everything I came across, spent my £s well and was always stocked up on resources.

So I never felt underleveled or that the combat was spongy, everything seemed pretty balanced right until the last boss where I died a few times.

(For context I was playing on hard)

The aesthetics here were great, the citizen's all had their own story to tell which were really fun to listen through, the district treatment system was pretty punishing, especially near the end where even a few nights of not doing my duties, my % dropped a lot.

Putting everything together through the different conversations felt smooth and satisfying. The decision making really made my actions feel like they had weight, always making me think, whats the best thing for me and or the town.

Only thing I could complain about is the volume of lore, understanding everything can really be a choir if you get into the nitty gritty bits of things, but thats more of a thing on my end for forgetting certain details here and there.

So yeah I dont get it, I feel like the people who played and hated on this were people who expected it to be some hack and slash devil my cry vamp remix with a spooky London mask slapped on it.

i am fighting a certain boss at the end of chapter 3 and absolutely destroying my supply of watery sturdy blood. i know it only drops from skals and sewer beasts, and i have been slipping past unnecessary combat too often to get it. where is the best spot (ie highest concentration of those enemies that aren’t too high levelled) to farm for regen mats? TIA :)

So I just started the game for the first time this week. I have not embraced anyone yet (I do however have my sight on at least 2 people I would love to see dead), and have generally only slept at mandatory points in the tutorial. For the majority of last week I have been playing at level 5. It seems to me that the most enjoyable battles I have had so far was with enemies at around level 9-14. Any opponents below that would be too easy, and any enemies above that level would start too feel a bit too spongy. Fighting enemies at level 9-14 however were a pretty enjoyable, almost soulslike dance. Enemies hit hard, but not to the point of being unfair, and after a while I become reasonably good at dodging while watching out for my stamina, coming in for a few hits, taking a bite, then using an ability for a big hit, rinse and repeat, etc. it felt pretty great and made me feel like a fragile but skillful newborn vampire, using his martial arts rather than raw power to overcome his enemies.

I was able to push it until the majority of enemies I face were of level 16 or above, at which point fights started to drag, and I decided to take a nap and level up to 14. But now fights have become too easy. My Jonathan mowed through groups of enemies like they were nothing, and attacks that used to be dangerous before now barely hurt. At first it felt awesome, like a true vampire power fantasy. However after a while I started to care less and less about being hit, and I noticed I became more and more clumsy. Now I have hit a point when combat becomes a bit boring, so I am hoping to reach a point when the game will scale up enemy levels again.

So that is a quick summary of how I feel about combat so far. I am curious as to if others have the same sweet spot as I do?

I just started the game. With all the atmosphere & especially the sounds, a lot of time I I actually felt a bit creeped out just walking around, almost forgot I was a vampire lol.

I'm enjoying the game, and having a ton of fun with it. It's flawed in A LOT of ways, combat-wise, and dialogue-wise. Still, I'm enjoying it very much. I can understand why people would hate it, though.

So I've been feeling that my healing is kinda trash recently despite having maxed out healing, so I decided to mess around, and it's only healing me for about 200. The first image is me before using Autophagy, then I used it, waited about 10 seconds, I took the second image, and the health isn't an exact 200 increase, but I think that's just because of passive regen even in a fight you heal a couple points over time but I should have 900 something health no? 200 from activating Autophagy, then from regenerating over time, the only other thing I can think is that it's bugged somehow or I misunderstood how the 300 healing over time works

Been playing Vampyr recently while it's a wonderful game I do wish hard mode was more difficult. The game is explicitly incentivizing a moral choice system where not killing npcs is supposed to make the game a lot harder but even on hard mode without killing anyone the game just doesn't feel hard enough to make the decision feel real. The barbed cudgel just deletes things really easily and while I could just keep my powers non-upgraded I don't know if I like the combat enough to for the tools to stay the same the entire way through.

If there's a way to just turn off xp for killing npcs that would be incredible honestly

I have the conversation to get the hint but it says it is failed and can't get it no matter what.

So I reached chapter 4 a couple days ago (been busy with irl stuff, so I haven't touched the game since) looked it up and around chapter 4 is when white phosphorus starts to appear but it's still pretty rare. so should I bother trying to get white phosphorus? The chemical one doesn't seem that good since humans aren't that big of a threat in comparison.

Does anyone else feel this way? This fight has flayed my nerves with its sheer levels of bullshit. The non-existent windows to stun, the incredibly punishing damage for every single attack, the atrocious scream during phase transitions that eats like 70% of my healthbar if i get caught in it, the absurd amount of blood magic that you have to avoid around the arena while dodging her incessant attacks and the fact that the fucking blood spores or whatever LINGER damaging you for seconds after they burst, her resistence to like 50% of all the stunn attacks i do manage to connect with her and the little repellent move that she does to stun me whenever I try to get more than a single attack at a time, oh and add to. that the fact that she completely regenerates a every time you drop a third of her health (I know I can eat the vicar but I am not killing anyone on this run).

Seriously, this fight is making evident to me that this game wants to be Bloodborne but is failing spectacularly at it. The worst part is I love the atmosphere, narrative, score, characters, but after shit like this I just have to rethink my whole experience for a moment.

This boss is not even hard, it's just punishing, I fight her flawlessly for 10 minutes and then get pieced apart by just making two mistakes in a row. Game design choices like these make me feel like the devs don't even want you to learn the patters, they just want you to bang your head against the wall and spend much more time on a boss than it deserves. This is coming from someone who just beat Silksong with all endings so my capacity for tolerating bullshit is definitely not low. Anyway does anyone share my thoughts? Any tips or ways to cheese her? I'm ready to move on literally any way i can.

Just beaten this game. Jonathan’s voice acting is amazing. It’s one of my favorite games.

But… I don’t understand. I’m not surprised Vampyr is one of their most successful games, but why haven’t they capitalized on that yet?

We can only hope that it’s in the works before it’s too late.
