Software & Updates App

I've recently done the upgrade from 24 LTS to 26 LTS but I can't find the Software & Updates App.
Also there was a Livepatch icon in the top panel where I used to check for its condition, also gone.
Have those two things been removed from the 26 LTS?

They took that package away from default install because it could allow user to break their PC. The package is still on repositories, it's called "software-properties-gtk", so you can install it. About the Ubuntu Pro thing, just try to attach your machine again.

Security Center has "Show Livepatch status in the top bar"

I had the issue with Ubuntu Pro and Livepatch following the upgrade as well. Here’s how I fixed it:

First, get your Ubuntu Pro token from the Ubuntu website, then run these commands:

```
sudo pro attach <token>
sudo pro refresh
sudo pro enable livepatch
pro status
```

This worked for me. The Livepatch icon appears in the top bar after this.

It is gone and you have to install it again yourself. Soon they'll make some of its functionality available in the App Center.

I'm glad they finally stopped including this antique application. We quite simply don't need it anymore - it's as old as time and time to move onwards and upwards

Except that we ended up with no way to install the Nvidia driver via GUI in case we forget to do so during OS installation.

Desde hace unos días ya lo permite el AppCenter

Ya the nvidia driver thing always a headache - open a terminal session and install from there. It's faster, easier with more control and you don't need old gui software to do it

Throwing out functional GUI in favour of just using the terminal 90s style is just great. I hope the new App Center integration will work correctly

Terminals were used in the late 1830s and adapted to use with computers in 1955. They've lasted for 200 years for a reason.

it's also useful for switching mirrors or to switch to an interim release.

What’s the gui app replacement then?

Icon can be enabled via dconf editor or gsettings
