dude sitting few seats away from me in a packed midterm, i hope you know and are satisfied with the amount of stress you caused a few others and me by smacking your lips, coughing so much spittle flew everywhere, sneezing without covering your mouth/nose, and relentlessly touching yoru saliva filled lips before passing down the papers
i’m sorry but if you’re digging into your scalp, tapping the flakes onto the fold out desk, and then going back into a bag of hot cheetos and licking your fingers in a packed lecture hall, you don’t get to be offended when people moving seats and tell you you’re wrong. that’s not judgmental culture. that’s consequences. some people seriously need to learn how to be around others.

Are any postdocs or grad students or PI’s are looking for an undergraduate research assistants. I’ve already applied through the common app and I’ll be cold emailing professors and labs just to see if I can get a position or acceptance but I also wanted to ask on here

Can anyone tell me what his exams are like? Are his test focused on what he talks about in lectures or readings or both? How would you recommend studying for his class.

I'll keep this brief:
I am applying as a transfer student from the University of Pittsburgh, been here 2 semesters, before that I took a couple online classes from SDCCD
3.6 transfer GPA
Navy Veteran
A couple C's on my transcripts
Selected Structural Engineering with specialized interest in Civil Engineering as my first choice major
Should I change my selected major to something else or? There wasn't a General Engineering option, I'm just worried I don't have enough to get in. Anybody else that had an application similar to mind that could share any info?
Thank you all in advance! Sorry if these kinds of posts are annoying on this page.

Hey guys!! I just wanted to publicly announce that I have added ucsd to my new game, exit point, on Roblox as a homage to the campus I love so dearly!! I spent more than a month making and polishing the campus so please let me know if yall like it. It’s also still in the development phase so it’s not fully ready. I just got my financial aid refund earlier this week, but after checking triton pay again today I noticed I still had a credit balance of -1300. Has this also happened to anyone else? I’m assuming it may just be a glitch or something. I did submit a ticket about this just in case but haven’t heard back yet.

Someone left their used dining hall bowls by the Gilman Dr & Eucalyptus Ln bus stop. They‘ve been sitting here for days, probably because they are unreasonably far from any dining hall. Take them back to the dining hall, or we will have to fingerprint them, report you to the police, and there‘s a good chance you go to jail for life.

I’m an off campus commuter and I need to make enough money to pay my rent each month, I do have another job, I don’t want to be capped by work study, if that’s even how it works. I already received an offer for an on campus job, so the fact work study “makes it easier to get an on campus job” doesn’t apply to me. I’m just confused on how it works and if it matters whether I accept it. What are the benefits in accepting work study if I’m a commuter, with no dining plan. Is it that I won’t be taxed on my paycheck? Or will that apply even if I don’t accept. If I accept it will I have to pay it back later?

I finally tried athena matcha today because the line was only about 10 minutes long for once.
A guy who looked like a manager (def not a student worker) was making the drinks, and I noticed that the cream top was getting all over the cups. They also serve the drinks without lids, which was kinda usual for a matcha drink but I saw multiple customers including myself having to wipe down their cups and the table with napkins before putting the lids on because it was served so messy.
But what really got me was when the guy handed me my drink. He had some cream on his fingers and literally sucked it off RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME 😭
I assumed he would wash his hands afterward, but nope. He immediately turned around and went back to making the next drinks.
I was genuinely shocked because how is that okay when you’re handling people’s drinks???
And for $9, I was expecting the matcha to be amazing, but it was honestly pretty average. The Biscoff matcha was way too sweet for me.
I really don’t get the hype. Definitely not worth going out of your way for, especially after seeing that 💀

I’m so resentful cause it seems like workers in La Jolla are so unproductive compared to when I was working in an 80%+ Hispanic town in California where they treat every “brown person” like they’re an immigrant with no options.
They get paid more for the same jobs and the managers are really soft. I remember being told to smile and be friendly a lot but it seems like there’s no customer service here. Your RAs never get back to you. All these jobs are fake and wouldn’t last on the free market.

My part time application was denied with the reason being the deadline was 10/9. (The website says you have until midnight)
I applied for part time HOURS before midnight on 10/09. And mind you, i couldnt even drop my second to last class!!! Because of the stupid tss error
This whole thing is a freaking joke and im seriously reaching my limit. I still dont even have my fin aid OFFER. And my sai is -1500!? WHAT ARE WE DOING
And to make this even worse, this SINGLE class is the only one i need to graduate and the reason im taking it right now is becayse SS II didn't have TRIP. so i couldn't take it then, and then in spring qtr the office denied my easy request bc they misread my request. And i know this because i literally copy pasted the request again and it was accepted the second time, but by then it was late because there was a waitlist :))
Just a vent i guess. Im seriously pissed at being screwed over and over again

I need to add some classes with TEA as its late-add period which are the most chill courses which I can get into ASAP.
