a lot of live music and parties on a Thursday (with links). The weekly newsletter is out if you want to take a peak at what you missed! Here are today's picks:

Sofar Live Music
Secret Location On Rogers Road | 7:30p-9p

Register if there's still room. Expect three artists, an intimate room somewhere on Rogers Road, local snacks, and a suggested donation to the Food Bank. There's another show on the 27th if this one doesn't work. Sent this in the newsletter because it's worth going to.

Halloween Family Market & Festival
Christie Pits Park | 9a-6a

Christie Pits goes full Halloween with a family market running through the day. There's treats, crafts, and games in one of the west end's better green spaces. Good option if you've got kids who need somewhere to take the costume before the 31st.

Thursday Nights In A Pharmacy
Trinity Drug Store | 8p-1a

I had to check this out a few times to make sure it's real. It is. A party in a drug store. Electronic music, networking, live painting, and a red light therapy room. Suave Barbershops offers haircuts and hot towel service.

Live Toronto Showcase
The Alpine | 7p-9p

Live music from local talent in a place with a casual vibe.

Opening Reception: Trung Hoang's Lately.
Black Rabbit Gallery | 7p-10p

Workshop MapMission Day with AccessNow!!

What it is
MapMission Day is a free, national community event on Saturday, October 17, 2026. A MapMission is an accessibility-focused scavenger hunt: groups explore their neighbourhood and rate places in real time using the AccessNow app. AccessNow is a Toronto-based accessibility organization, and the more places that get rated, the more useful the map is for everyone.

Ways to take part

  1. Join a city event. Map with our Community Captains in Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, or Vancouver. Register to get the meeting point details: https://luma.com/mapmissionday2026
  2. Host your own meetup. Bring your team, organization, or community together and lead a mapping event anywhere in Canada, on any day that week. Register the event on our Luma calendar (https://help.luma.com/p/submitting-events-to-calendars) and grab the host toolkit (https://accessnow.com/mapmission-toolkit/).
  3. Map on your own. No group needed, just the app.

Reddit Meetup Reddit Toronto Monthly Meetup: Sat. Nov. 7 @ Front & Church, 7:00 p.m. start

Hey all, hope you've had a good week so far! This is going up earlier because it's my birth month haha.

Here are the details:

  • The monthly Reddit meetup is a no-cost event open to all genders. No RSVP is required. It is hosted by u/nervousTO, a woman in their early 30s, with support from a group of regular attendees. It's been running since August 2022 and has been described as wholesome.
  • Start time: 7:00 p.m. - show up whenever is convenient for you
  • End time: when the last person leaves or the place closes @ 2:00 a.m.
  • Location: Duke's Refresher St. Lawrence, 73 Front Street East
  • Where do I go: upstairs, using the stairs directly in front of you when you walk in. There should also be a chalkboard sign saying Reddit Meetup. Ignore the message if it says closed, I have a reservation, so it's never closed to our group.
  • Perks: We have the upstairs mostly to ourselves, although sometimes we share with another group, who will be closer to the bar. There's also a pool table, and games on the main floor (ping pong, basketball, etc.)

Note that no RSVP is required, but that by showing up, you commit to ordering something to support the venue, even if it's just a coke.

Our Q&A is here - I haven't included it with the post as it's quite detailed!

Send me a message or comment here if you have any questions or concerns about anything related to this meetup/questions that aren't answered in the Q&A.
