Hated Tropes An adaptation completely botches the original theme and message

Mulan(2020)-They give Mulan superpowers which is not only lame it goes against the message of the original about equality and struggle, plus they removes Shang because apparently having Mulan date her superior was "problematic" even though Shang genuienely respected Mulan and their rank was never brought up

I am Legend(2007)-You know why the story is called "I am legend"? SPOILER ALERT the protagonist is the actual monster, humanity is gone and the vampires have a actual society and the protagonist kills and terrorize them

Animal Farm(2026)-On the very slim chance that Andy Serkis ever sees this, here's the thing Andy,Animal Farm was not a children work it was not supposed to have a happy ending, you never heard of cautionary tales before?

Eh, 50-50.

Max Brooks was supposed to be a journalist who collected the different perspectives, strategies, and techniques of people/ communities in the years after the war, they just scooted the book's timeline backward a bit to give a first-hand account of events detailed in the book.

The only nagging points are the "Climbing Zombies," which aren't completely exempt from the book with the creation of Corpse Piles, and the "Terminal Bubble," which wasn't in the book at all.

Given that it was a film, they had to trim a lot of fat and give audiences an easier to digest "And we all won" ending.  I, being annoyed that my favorite stories weren't adapted, understand the need but wanted a proper anthology show to come of it.

There’s no battle of yonkers, great denial period, and the endings are massively different, there is no cure.

The movie is about a sudden explosive outbreak, it’s a short term disaster.

In the novels it’s a long term story where the zombies spread slower but get underestimated heavily at first and old order pretty much collapses and the countries reorganize themselves over years to eliminate the zombies by slow military campaigns using new tactics, where the conflict takes more like a decade.
