Is it just me or did that police officer take a comically long time to open that door?

He wasn't in the mood for a run, anyway. Ever.

“Dispatch, there’s no possible way I could’ve ever seen, in a million years, which way he went”

Why is that trained officer holding his gun sideways like he's in a 1998 gasta rap video

27

u/Indiscriminate_Love 1d ago edited 1d ago

Seems like he was holding his gun for a canted one-hand grip and when he opened the door and when he stepped inside he didn't fix his grip for two hands.

Could also be that his fancy red dot on top wasn't turned on/difficult sight alignment under stress and he was instead using the 90° angle of the left side of his pistol to aim at super close quarters.

Could also be that he does indeed think it looks '1998 gangsta rap' badass. Hard to say, really.

Yea not fixing it after entering and talking to the guy was very odd maybe he was shocked to find someone there idk people do dumb stuff sometimes

5

u/What_is_rich 1d ago

I was thinking he’s holding the gun like “Chappie”

3

u/Demerzel69 1d ago

Chappie no crimes!

1

u/RaceHate 1d ago

That's a close quarters style. I suck ass at shooting but I've seen skilled SWAT instructors use it in the little indoor paintball drills.

u/Correct_Day_7791 21h ago

Yes when you need your other hand 100% but then you fix it

Canted or rotated pistol shooting (often tilting the firearm inward by 10 to 45 degrees) for a left-handed shooter is a technique used primarily during one-handed or weak-hand shooting, or to align the pistol's bore/optics with the dominant eye and skeletal structure.

Last I checked a bullet coming out of the barrel is still a bullet no matter how you hold the firearm.

2

u/Evening-Painting-213 1d ago

It may fire in the same direction but the elevation and decline of the bullet path changes drastically. Tell me you know nothing about guns without telling me you know nothing about guns.

The rotated sight alignment can introduce a sideways offset, but the effect only becomes noticeable at longer distances. If he were to shoot the guy from where he was standing he would hit him. He looks dumb af but he would hit the target.

0

u/Evening-Painting-213 1d ago

Understood, but knowing cops extreme ineptitude i doubt he knows his to use that sight effectively. Probably has it to just look cool got his fellow thugs and can't shoot worth a damn.

-2

u/Big_Lengthiness3450 1d ago

It doesn't change anything. You made that up.

I've discharged weapons of all varieties. Started in the army back in 89 and fell in love with the range ever since. Shut your pie hole little bit. When any weapon is fired the projectile immediately has a slight upwards trajectory, evens out for a bit, then starts to sink depending on the weapon. For example, fire an m16a1 at a 300 meter target and you have to shoot around the head to hit center mass. For a berretta m9 anything farther than 25 yards you have to aim around the neck to hit it's effective range of 50 yards. Please stop talking out of your ass.

-3

u/Big_Lengthiness3450 1d ago

First off thank you for your service. Second, all of that is irrelevant because in this clip the officer isn't holding an m16 (which you are using as an example) and is less than 10 feet away (much different than the 300 meters you also used as an example.)

You also brought up the Beretta being less effective beyond 25 yards, which the target in the clip is less than 25 yards away. So completely irrelevant.

Well that just tells me you don't obviously handle firearms

There is a reason everywhere on earth trains people not to do that specifically I'll let you try and figure it out 🤣

2

u/Evening-Painting-213 1d ago

Thank you. This guy is an idiot.

u/danincb 1d ago

I’m not sure of the long sigh was because he had to chase or remember how doors and locks work.

10

u/Im_a_cad_man 1d ago

I think the door may have been locked from the inside and he had to twist a deadbolt?

Other than that not sure...

5

u/Personal-Dev-Kit 1d ago

Door is locked in a house that isn't yours.

Is it dead bolted or just on the handle, had the thief tried to get in and messed with it, adrenaline after seeing a dude run away and jump through a window.

Many options

10

u/--slurpy-- 21h ago

He also holds his weapon at a ridiculous Hollywood angle

18

u/PeanutButterToast4me 1d ago

Definitely holding his weapon comically. Not what they teach at any range I have been to.

15

u/Longjumping_College 1d ago

Third, cops don't have the right to shoot when not being threatened. Fuck this guy. You're not judge, jury, and executioner over some meth head stealing copper.

3

u/PeanutButterToast4me 20h ago

Russia's backup bot farms can't seem to respond to what people actually said.

7

u/icehot54321 1d ago

Having your weapon out when clearing a house is totally normal.

Clearing a house by yourself, is not normal.

13

u/NightGod 1d ago

I was more worried about the "YOU WILL GET SHOT" bit

6

u/Dub_Coast 1d ago

Was probably setting this dude up after buying drugs from him. That's what I'm going to imagine happened. It is Oklahoma after all.

1

u/GinormousHippo458 1d ago

But cops are allowed to lie; especially if it incriminates a suspect or an innocent.

1

u/Ghost_of_Till 1d ago

Allowed?

Shit, encouraged.

They get atta’boys for lying under oath.

2

u/Ok-Prize-6097 1d ago

I think that's called TMM syndrome. (Too many movies). Junkies see through that every single time. With recoil in that direction, how is he ever going to hit me?

1

u/shawdowed_sonicbeast 1d ago

Im wondering if he is holding it that way to block as much of the body cam as possible.

15

u/HumbleResolution7099 1d ago

😆 he holstered his gun first I think then unlocked the door maybe

3

u/Livid-General7 1d ago

Trying to unlock the door.

1

u/thisisatypoo 16h ago

You can hear it. Tries to open, locked, unlocks all the locks. Not sure why everyone is missing that.

3

u/cupittycakes 1d ago

The frustrated sigh

9

u/Educational_Play5772 1d ago

Donuts

0

u/Bookslutforsmut 1d ago

He's carrying a spare around his waist fer sure

7

u/Never-Dont-Give-Up 1d ago

That fat cop couldn’t run a 20 min mile. That’s why he has a gun.

3

u/Realistic_Salad_5110 23h ago

Are those body cameras deliberately placed to obscure evidence when firing a shot? How would you determine if a killing was lawful or not when all you have is a video of a firearm?

4

u/Righteousaffair999 1d ago

He didn’t want to run into a getting shot at scenario and probably assumed he doesn’t have to work hard since his suspect is not bleeding to death anyways.

4

u/N8dork2020 1d ago

Now*

3

u/Righteousaffair999 1d ago

Yeah phone got me

1

u/ATechnicalSquid 1d ago

I assumed it was a safe bet there will be a trail

1

u/tread52 14h ago

I think it’s the third one this week and he’s done with this tweaker BS.

0

u/BoringImpress2610 1d ago

Yes, he took an extra a few seconds because the guy Running was white. If the dude would’ve been a black dude he would’ve emptied his magazine before that dude jumped out the window.

1

u/maple_crowtoast 1d ago

So, you think he had trouble opening the door because the guy was white? Wtf? Lol

1

u/JamonConJuevos 1d ago

You can never be too careful with those suspects. They jump into a shadow and have instant camouflage.

-1

u/TheRuckyDubber 1d ago

Well to be fair he was winded from all the donuts, yelling and holding the gun like a gangster so as to cover the camera from just before.

0

u/Raterus_ 1d ago

Fat cop

0

u/cryptolyme 1d ago

he did not want to run after him

0

u/skpy12345 1d ago

Bro was probably shocked perp did that. Took a moment to process it. Then said weighed out how necessary it was to chase dude willing to bleed to death from a window.

1

u/J3musu 1d ago

Yeah you heard that big sigh after the long pause, like he couldn't believe the shot he's dealing with right now.

0

u/weedtrek 1d ago

Ready to shot someone over a crime, but his ass isn't going to fucking run over a crime.
