Yes, The Originals was not based on any of her books but she was responsible for the creation of Klaus. And without her, Klaus Mikaelson would not exist today. RIP.

This is being asked ad nauseam so I thought I would spell it out for you all to stop the constant posts about it.
The sireline is the connection between an Original, such as Niklaus, and his (or her!) progeny who he creates with his blood. This applies to all vampires (but not all hybrids) and goes on down the line as more are made by each vampire that came before. This connection stems from the spell that Esther Mikaelson used to create the Originals in 1001 AD, as explained by Kol Mikaelson in Season 3 of The Originals.
Sireline status:
Niklaus broken / NOT destroyed - his sireline was severed by Davina and the Strix coven in Season 3 (Episode: A Streetcar Named Desire ). It resulted in him having no connection to his progeny anymore (and also the resurrection of Kol thankfully!). Characters such as Caroline are under no threat of death if Klaus dies.
Elijah broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated when the Hollow killed Elijah in Season 4 (Episode: Queen Death ). He was later resurrected but his sireline remained dead.
Rebekah intact - her sireline is intact, the only remaining one from inception in the year 1001, as of The Originals finale (August 2018).
Kol broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 4 (Episode: A View to a Kill ). Could possibly create a new sireline beginning now...
Finn broken / destroyed - his sireline was eradicated in TVD Season 3 (Episode: The Murder of One ).
Mikael broken / destroyed - his sireline would have certainly been eradicated in TVD Season 3 when Klaus killed him with white oak (Episode: Homecoming) and also in TO Season 2 when he once again had a run in with Klaus who has the indestructible white oak stake (Episode: Night Has A Thousand Eyes). Although Mikael tended towards hating the vampire race, so it may be less likely that he even sired a bloodline at all.
Ultimately it isn't known if a sireline can be started again once destroyed due to the death of the Original who 'begat' the line. Obviously the remaining Mikaelsons can still sire progeny so one would assume that a new sireline could be created by Kol.
EDIT: It has been pointed out that due to the spell used to create the 'Beast', Marcel may well be able to create his own sireline due to it being reverse engineered Immortality Spell that Esther used on her children/husband. (Thank you /u/SlimReaper85)
EDIT 2: Sticky status woohoo! Also Mikael's sireline added for accuracy. (Thank you /u/NiklausShepard)
EDIT 3: As /u/Xil_Jam333 said below, it is likely that Mikael never actually sired a bloodline due to hating the vampire race. There is no proof either way of this but it does seem likely, although either way they are all dead!
EDIT 4: Per /u/ursulazsenya I have further explained that Klaus' sireline is severed but NOT destroyed (Caroline etc) as I had already said due to Davina & the Strix coven performing the blood spell to sever sirelines...

Whats everyones opinion on their relationship? I really like it and think its cute but others don't seem to agree. No Rudeness or Attacking others preferably please.

One thing I really loved about The Originals was how the characters interacted when there wasnât some huge supernatural crisis going on.
Scenes like this, with Rebekah pouring drinks while Hayley stands there clearly lost in thought, made the relationships feel real. Rebekah could be sarcastic and difficult, but in moments like these you could see how much she actually cared about the people around her. And Hayley became so much more interesting once she was treated as part of the Mikaelson family instead of a constant outsider.
I wish the show had given us more scenes where these characters were just talking, arguing, drinking and putting up with each other, without every conversation instantly turning into the next disaster.
Which two characters do you think had the most underrated dynamic in The Originals?

I'm currently doing a rewatch of so many TV shows and I forgot how GOATED The Originals was, especially the third season... that until season 4 hit. It's not unwatchable, it has it's really good moments. A standout to me is the scene where Hope and Marcel meet for the first time. They really should have used Marcel more in Legacies (actually they should have used all the Mikaelsons left more but that's for another day). The Hollow is downright terrible as a villain. None of the depth, reasoning, emotional implications that the other villains had. The moment they introduced the red door I was DONE, and I'm not even difficult like that but season 5 was just miserable to me. The last seasons will never be as bad as the last few seasons of TVD but it was still disappointing compared to the greatness the show was capable of.

Please try and change my mind
Klaus is a strategist and mastermind, Elijah is the muscle. Take away the weapons, no white oak, no dagger Elijah beats Klaus.
And most importantly if you take away Elijahâs need to redeem Klaus he beats Klaus fair and square

I started watching the show on Prime Video because I needed something new and my best friend wonât stop talking about it lol. Anyways, I just finished season one and the finale has me in literal tears. Can yâall tell me something that about the next seasons that I donât understand now but will later, and it will either shock/devastate me or make me laugh?
Also, I will be watching TVD when I get back home. I just donât have access to anything but Prime Video right now

I totally get that Haleyâs pregnancy and Hopeâs life were huge deals in the TO universe. A pregnant wolf who became pregnant by the oldest and most powerful vampire/hybrid and then gives birth to a tribrid is obviously the most curious occurrence in history.
However, I do feel that the show had so much lost potential in regards to the Originals history. They had literally over a 1000 years of lore and drama which could have been explored so much more than what they bothered to do.
Especially for fans who have followed them and invested in the characters since TVD. I was so excited to watch and anticipated getting so much backstory to really see how their dynamics and relationships evolved over the years but we only got very little backstory which was mainly used as plot points to serve the current day narrative which again, was all based around Hope.

I know that guns would ruin the magic vibes and all, but technically speaking wouldn't it be easier to defeat the evil witches that way? Because apparently originals vampires cant even touch Dahlia, The Hollow or any other evil witch. However, they're still mortals and dont have heightened senses. What if a vampire just sneaks up on them and shoots them? They wont even hear them coming.
Like I get that it would be too easy and there wouldn't be a show to watch if the villains got defeated in one episode, but couldn't have they at least addressed this possibility? And maybe provide an in-universe explanation why the cant so that?

I know those seasons didn't live up to the hype of the first 3 seasons, but would you label them as flop seasons?
I really liked them!!! What are your opinions?

Vincent couldâve stopped Eva at any time but he didnât (after Rebeca got in her body). Kol on the other hand put Rebecca in her and by breaking becks out they took out Eva too.
Yet Vincent acts like the originals(he has every right to hate Finn) are the greatest evil ever.
Edit: Kol was just paying Becks back for 1912 and he had every reason to be pissed about Davina

Her visions could have given away his plan at some point and made them more suspicious of Lucien. Why did he allow it? Did I miss something?

I am NOT okay. đđ I definetly blame Hope for what happened but at the same time I blame Elijah, because of the fact he chose to remove his memories he didn't remember shit. Hope was definetly at fault but I also think she is far less at fault as again, she's literally 15 at that time and she didnt expect that to happen obviously.

Protection spells, as in, spells that protect the subject from death and/or other physical harm, show up a few times in the TVDU. In The Vampire Diaries the Gilbert Rings are an obvious example of this, and in season two Bonnie casts one onto herself so she can survive (which requires the assistance of the 101 witches) her weird death fighting Klauslaric, and Maddox places one on Klauslaric to protect himself from 100 witches Bonnie. Whether or not this protection spell only protects him from magical damage or if it would allow him to recover from ânormalâ damage like getting his neck snapped by Stefan or getting shot in the head is unclear.
And of course, Immortality spells, which are protection spells ad infinitum. But of course, theyâre not relevant for the purposes of this post.
In season 8 episode 15, Alaric tells Caroline that Stefan called Valerie, and she placed a protection spell on Lizzie and Josie, ensuring that âtheyâll be safe, no matter what.â Something that is not really relevant since Bonnie is the one who saves them from the fire in that episode.
Anyway, over to The Originals, we see protection spells in action again, with Sabine/Celeste (Sabeste) casting one before going out to get Davina. Davina snaps her neck, but Sabeste comes back to life, after which Marcel tells her to cast one on Davina, who by that point is across the city, and this brings her back after the poison kills her, the same poison that the blood of a thousand year old Original Vampire cannot heal her from.
Freya casts a spell to bring Finn (and Vincentâs) soul into her pendant should Elijah kill him. Freya *says* that she did it to protect him, but this wasnât a traditional protection spell. Finncent still gets blown up and âdiesâ, and Freya has to cast a spell to repair his body before doing a soul transfer resurrection.
Jumping ahead to season three, no one is using protection spells, even though it is apparently really easy to apply and would come in handy, like in any one of the multiple times Freya is put in mortal peril. She does *something* to protect herself and her siblings from mortal peril in the finale, whether that is putting them in a deep sleep or by linking them to Klaus. Season four a bunch of protection spells are used by Dominic to protect himself from death, but he needs a ritual to bring himself back in episode six after his heartâs ripped out. So this could be a potential restriction on the effectiveness of protection spells. If your body is rendered apart then the spell you used is not going to cut it, which implies that ordinarily these spells work by setting up a sort of automatic soul transfer resurrection.
It makes me wonder what other restrictions are there on protection spells? Could the Sisters, the Strixâs private coven of super witches cast protection spells on Tristan and other senior members to make them as indestructible as Originals? Should a man as strategic and forward thinking and paranoid as Klaus have asked his sister to place a protection spell on Camille while she was human? Much to think about.

Like I'm sorry, I love Klaus but somewhere in season 2, he started to get on my LAST nerve and the all-mighty thing was also getting on it. Like we saw people beat SOMETIMES but I feel like with Freya it felt more...raw or satisfying. Also, I would never, ever be mad at her for turning the family against him since, if it was that easy, it says more about what kind of person he was than her. And also, it would very double standards of me, considering all the stuff Klaus did.
