Discussion MICHAEL DANTE DIMARTINO CONFIRMS: THERE WAS NO SECRET AVATAR BETWEEN KORRA AND PAVI AND NISHA!
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Avatar co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino debunked the theory that another Avatar existed between Korra and the twins, despite the approximately 200-year gap.
This raises new questions: Did Korra live for two centuries, or did something prevent the Avatar’s reincarnation? And is there any connection between the union of Raava and Vaatu and the emergence of the twin Avatars?
According to DiMartino, the series will reveal more details as the story unfolds. For now, the mystery continues!

Crazy coincidence that 3/4 of the past Avatars have all had extraordinary lengths of time between them.
Korra - Whatever happened between then and Seven Havens
Aang - 100 years frozen in an iceberg
Kyoshi - Writers can't do math. I mean...extended her life using some earthbending for whatever reason.
23
u/Joaoseinha 16h ago
Meh, I think the retcon actually ends up being a cool earthbending skill even if it was totally unintended at first.
3
u/Ornery_Gator 14h ago
I’m glad they found a way to explain it but I’ve never been a fan of the “wizards live longer” trope.
15
u/redJackal222 9h ago
The kyoshi thing wasn't because they can't do math but because they retcon her position in the cycle. She was not the avatar before Roku originally. We see her statue in the southern air temple and it's an entire row before Roku's, and the line that she lived over 400 years ago makes sense if the original idea was for her to be a full cycle before Aang and not the most recent earth avatar.

My current personal WMG is that Ellora is in the spirit world, or in some kind of world in-between that emerged with the cataclism, and that the passing of time got messed up.
90
u/Late_Stage_Exception 17h ago
I still think Korra prevented a full on planetary destruction by staying locked in the spirit world with whatever was causing it, leading to a much delayed “death” for her and reincarnation.
18
u/Joonami 16h ago
I really feel like that angry red spirit square that exploded on the twins was Korra's (corrupted) spirit. Like she's trying to clear her name, communicate/connect with the new avatars, and tell them (and Bountan) something. I say corrupted because it messed up the animals that it affected too.

u/caedmon-zzz 17h ago
I really like this theory, and it could also potentially explain the "double avatar" thing. If there was a splitting between the Spirit/physical worlds and the bridge is currently broken, then I could see one avatar being reincarnated for each realm. Maybe Ellora is in between, hence why Pavi and Nisha both end up there.
3
u/New_to_Siberia 16h ago
Would make a lot of sense. I just hope they don't go for the "good Avatar" / "dark Avatar" route.
9
u/pedroxlucas 17h ago
The Spirt World theory doesn't make sense since we've already seen ruins of the past in the first episode. The only way I could see this happening is if both worlds merged together (but that also doesn't make much sense since we haven't seen any spirits)
6
u/New_to_Siberia 16h ago
Didn't we? That red sentient thing attacking the city, it looked like a spirit to me.
9
u/charlesleecartman 17h ago edited 16h ago
If it's the spirit world where's the spirits? Even physical world had spirits in Korra but there is none in Ellora, I think something weird is going on with spirits in general and that's why Korra didn't reincarnate for 200 years. Perhaps something is preventing spirits from existing in the physical world, and it took Raava 200 years to overcome whatever that is.
3
u/HarlequinKOTF unbendable earthbender 16h ago
They said it's in the southeastern former earth kingdom in an interview with teen vogue
2
u/Witch-kingOfBrynMawr 16h ago
Something about the interview being in Teen Vogue is really funny. (Real talk: Teen Vogue is actually pretty rad.)
-1
u/Joaoseinha 16h ago
I think whatever is responsible for two avatars, they grew up in the spirit world. Those flashbacks absolutely do not look like the physical world let alone Ellora.
3
u/swanfirefly 15h ago
Additionally, the tree in the background of their memories looks like it is the same tree Vaatu was trapped in.
Which could be the memories are the two spirits using the twins as stand ins for themselves, or the twins spent the first five/200+ years of their lives in the spirit world (as time is different in the spirit world).
I'm glad that after the complaints they are doing more showing instead of telling. While I love Korra, ASH feels more in line with ATLA, though that could be just because like Aang, these are kids.
23
u/Asimb0mb 17h ago
Yeah I was never behind this theory. It would make things unnecessarily complicated.
45
u/avariciouswraith 16h ago
So Korra almost definitely was holding back the apocalypse for two hundred years...
Yep, greatest Avatar ever that will never be surpassed.
27
u/BubblyBaker5718 16h ago
Oh damn, that would be brutal.
It’d be sorta similar to Botw Zelda holding back calamity ganon for 100 years, except with the added side effect of dying at the end.

Thank God they directly shot it down, I was so tired of that theory. Every promo material kept saying Pavi was Korra's successor, but sure, let's assume they were straight up lying to our faces. 🙄
2
u/FalafelSnorlax 15h ago
Promotional material lies all the time, especially for mysteries.
5
u/Nightsong 14h ago
Why are you so convinced the creators are lying? Ever since it was announced the shows premise has been that Pavi is the next avatar after Korra which is in line with what’s said here.
2
u/FalafelSnorlax 14h ago
I don't think they're lying at all, I'm saying that the premise in the promotional material isn't proof that the theory wasn't true.
2
u/redJackal222 9h ago
I'm saying that the premise in the promotional material isn't proof that the theory wasn't true.
Prmotional material is usually more often intentionally vague with mysteries rather than outright lying. There's no reason to lie here or for them to have missing avatars to be honest.
19
u/Hellebaardier 13h ago edited 13h ago
It's kind of sad that they had to explicitly confirm something they pretty much already confirmed when they communicated the premise of the show months ago.
Seriously, I never understood why so many people went with the idea that a whole Avatar cycle passed despite the fact that there really was no room for that interpretation in the premise of the show.
It also doesn't take away any kind of mystery. That logic makes no sense as the whole mystery is that somehow there's a 200 year gap between Avatars. It's not really mysterious when the cycle apparently worked as it was supposed to.
Not to mention offing multiple Avatars off-screen is one thing, but if even the makers don't acknowledge them as Avatars...that's just painful.
5
u/Prudent_Solid_3132 13h ago
It’s just one of those things where fans set themselves up for failure and get upset when it’s proven not to be true
3
u/Difficult-Leek9001 10h ago
The Avatar is like Doctor Who in this regard, but they did put in a whole extra secret one in between 8 and '9' later on which was incredibly well received.
4
u/Hellebaardier 9h ago
I never watched Doctor Who. The fact is that they made it pretty clear from the start that Pavi is Korra's direct successor. It's only after they also revealed that a significant amount of time had passed between the two series, that this theory started gaining traction...completely ignoring the established premise of the series.
The creators just repeated what they already had established a long time ago, and now people are complaining about it. As the person below me said, this was just people setting themselves up for failure, and now they're cranky because their inevitable failure has arrived.
1
u/Deadpoolssistersarah 5h ago
Speaking of DW, I could easily see a Doctor’s Daughter situation with how long they are saying isn’t how long it has actually been.
Or the dads have retconned us with something as they said they’d do so they aren’t pigeonholed into situations
I don’t really care, I’m happy we have Avatar back even if I’m not the biggest fan of the animation style. Just keep feeding the fans please.

As someone who engaged in no prerelease material and went into these first episodes blind I found it a fun and plausible theory to think about. Avatars that had to live in hiding in a world that hates them possibly living much shorter lives. I know it’s really dark but this show is post apocalyptic and it’s no darker than the air nation being wiped out.
I’m still interested in what the explanation is, I’m leaning towards lost in the spirit world but we’ll see. I probably shouldn’t have hopped on Reddit but I would’ve preferred if he didn’t debunk that theory in an interview and if I would’ve been proven wrong just watching the show. Either way I’m liking the show a lot so far!
7
u/Jhawk163 14h ago
I mean it makes sense, they established that the Twins' best element is earth, so the cycle wouldn't make sense if there were a secret avatar, there'd have to be like 4 secret avatar cycles somehow in that period.
3
u/Jroeseph 13h ago
To be fair, that wouldn't have been entirely out of the question in a world where most people wouldn't hesitate to kill the avatar, giving them short lives
13
u/RedditGojiraX 16h ago
......Kyoshi literally had a technique to expand her life....Toph was able to do something similar
8
u/PointJump 16h ago
Oh thank god for this, it was kind of depressing thinking that several avatars may have died during that 200 year span. Also, I still think Korra either pulled an Aang (has been asleep and hidden away), or was in like an Atlas situation (like she had to maintain the spirit portal open or something). But there is also the theory which I like, that the twins were asleep for a long time, and that they were born just right after the cataclysm.
1
u/Difficult-Leek9001 10h ago
If I've learned anything after doing this whole dance when Lost was airing for the first time it's that online theorising is only fun if you don't take it seriously, because the simplest explanations are normally the right ones.
6
u/TejRidens 7h ago
Korra actually being alive until 9 years before the series starts would be pretty interesting. Tf she been doing for 200 years?
6
u/Animedingo 6h ago
Could be frozen, could be old, could have just been gaying out for 200 years. I would if I could
1
u/Ok_Branch2469 5h ago
I dunno maybe Kyoshi taught her the immortality trick and then kept saying "just 5 more years come on you can die in 5 more years, ok 5 more and we're done, ok maybe-"
5
u/Kronzypantz 16h ago
I guess 2 centuries of avatars being snuffed out early would have been a little dark, even for a show that tackles genocide.
1
u/FalafelSnorlax 15h ago
Could just be that they lived in hiding, which is literally what Pavi did until the start of the show. You can also make this not a full cycle, so they can even live reasonably long.
4
u/Edladan 16h ago
The tech bros of Korra's time caused a great upheaval between mortal and spirit worlds which might have led to Vaatu being allowed to roam the world once again. Korra had to stop the cataclysm, but in order to halt the actual, planet-splitting cataclysm she had to absorb Vaatu and lock all three (herself, Raava and Vaatu) away. Maybe to serve as an anchor while the world reached an equilibrium? I don't want Raava and Vaatu to have a good and evil storyline, so I don't know if Vaatu was behind the cataclysm.
The damage to the world was so huge it was essentially the apocalypse, however not the end of the world. But because the last thing people saw was Korra in the middle of the storm, and she was nowhere to be found to help pick up the pieces so the rumour spread that Korra was responsible. And seeing how the last few Avatars messed up at an increasing rate, it'd be believable that people were simply done.
So Korra stayed locked, alive but not living, and only a decade ago (or 9 years, does the Avatar spirit enter a child at birth or conception?) when the Avatar spirit was allowed to reincarnate. However- because Korra had both the Avatar and Dark Avatar spirits in her, this time, the reincarnation produced two Avatars. One merged with Raava and one with Vaatu.
This is my cactus juice induced theory.
6
u/Difficult-Leek9001 10h ago
The simplest explanations are often the best. Don't know what happened to Korra but it remains likely that the Seven Havens are the 'world chakras' that all need to be unlocked somehow to earth all the spirit energy knocking around.
After this season they go on a journey to the other cities.
1
u/fixer1987 8h ago
My running theory is either the Raava/vaatu fight, the sundering of the Avatar past lives connection or the cataclysm that lead to Seven Havens messed with the cycle and it took extra time for the first rebirth to happen
3
u/Nesk_online 16h ago
My personal theory clings on the chakra theory :
Maybe somehow reincarnation is linked with the cosmic energies flowing through the world’s chakras.
Less benders are born because their souls are stuck in the chakras and the avatar’s soul had the same problem somehow.
Eager to see how it unravels
5
u/kmasterofdarkness Zuko is the GOAT! 2h ago
The secret Avatars between Korra and Pavi/Nisha are lies. Just like this cake.
2
u/ThatCapMan 12h ago
Can they please stop talking about the show outside of what's inside the show? There is a general trend where creators keep talking about a thing they made and it kinda ruins some fun of the thing.
Like. Release the information in a note that's stuck to a collage. Like, a bunch of art and scrapped plot points.
5
u/Littleleaf6 10h ago
It’s pretty obvious what happend. The twins were seen in the spirit world in the flashback when they were playing catch with the water. The world was anti avatar after the cataclysm so the parents took them to the spirit world to protect them where the passage of time is much slower. When they finally came back to the physical world it was 200 years in the future.
5
u/R-Vince 10h ago edited 10h ago
Didn't korra spent like a week in the spirit world and time was pretty much the same in republic city when she got back ? For 200 years to equate to a few years in the spirit realm a few months should have passed for Korra during season 2, nah ?
8
u/pomagwe 9h ago
She was gone for a few days and a few days passed. No weird time stuff at all.
Time dilation would also make all of the mediating into the spirit world stuff really weird.
-1
u/Littleleaf6 7h ago
My theory is that it works differently based on how you get to the spirit world. Korra meditated into the spirit world. Her physical body was still in the physical world. My theory is that if someone enters the spirit world via the portals Korra opened the passage of time is different because their body and spirit are in the spirit world.
2
u/Far_Gur_7361 6h ago
Nope she and Asami physically entered the spirit world when they went on their vacation, which was like a 3-4 day trip. By your theory, 3-4 days in the spirit world would have been a few months or maybe even a year or something in the physical world.
There are also lots of other characters that have physically entered the spirit world for extended stretches, w/o any extra time passing in the physical world. Unalaq, for instance, would spend days there. Tenzin, Bumi, and Kya spent at least a few hours in there when they were searching for Jinora. Etc.
1
u/quiped420 2h ago
What about Admiral Zhao and Iroh? I think the implication for Iroh is that he died but Zhao got pulled directly in and is still alive in Korra
1
1
u/R-Vince 5h ago
She had already entered with her body to fight unalaq (which was the only way for her to have bending in this world) and nothing seems to indicate that it wasn't a 1:1 with time in the human world imo.
But I see someone commenting about yan chen's novel, I haven't read them so their could be some special places inside the spirit world where time dilatation could occur I guess
1
u/Decent-Tangerine308 7h ago
It's weird. They talk about how sometimes, people spend a few hours in the Spirit World and return months later in the physical world in stuff like the Yangchen Novels.
My personal bet is the more experienced and trained you are the time dilation begins to disappear, while someone with no experience will see the dilation often.
2
u/OwnRepresentative916 5h ago
They aren't in the Spirit World in the flashback, they are in the harshlands.
-1
u/Littleleaf6 3h ago
You can see the tree of time in the background. They are in the spirit world.
1
u/OwnRepresentative916 3h ago
News flash: there are many of that kind of tree. If you go to LOK, you'll see dozens of smaller ones throughout the Spirit World too. Just because you see a tree of that species, doesn't make it the Tree of Time. Also, we have no idea the current state of the world. In that flashback, the desert landscape, the cliffs, the aurora, they all look like the harshlands. For all we know, the material and spiritual planes have merged and now you can see that kind of tree in the physical world too. It's too little info to go off of.
2
u/Mr_7ups 4h ago
…this just isn’t true lol
We for one don’t know that they were in the spirit world in that flash back (??) and two there is no “time dilation” in the spirit world based on every interaction with it we’ve seen thus far
1
u/Littleleaf6 3h ago
Yes we do know they are in the spirit world. You can see the tree of time in the background.
1
u/Mr_7ups 3h ago
I genuinely don’t know what you mean cause I just right now opened up paramount, and went frame by frame through both flashbacks (the one when they touch the red thing and the one when they sing in episode 3 of their mom) and in neither of them is the tree of time visible?
I mean shit, there’s barely ANY trees visible
EDIT: forgot the one at start of episode 2 and just looked and assume that’s the tree u are talking about, but it looks nothing like the tree of time, its WAY too small, and doesn’t have the opening. There are also buildings in the back and the surrounding don’t remotely match the area around the tree of time. They’re literally in a village in like a canyon you can see clearly in the scene.

1
u/Zealousideal_Pen_321 3h ago
I really like the time dilation theory. In the Yangchen novels they say time flows differently than it does in the material. Plus, in all the mythological other worlds the spirit world is based off of, time dilation nonsense is super common.
1
1
u/Kind_Survey4282 16h ago
I mean thats given didn't karthik literally say the exact same thing , he said the avatar is back 2 centuries later so what do you think that means?
1
1
u/superwafflekid 16h ago
That was my thinking going into the show and still after the first 3 episodes so I'm glad they got that theory out of the way.
I thought it would end up being some sort of twist reveal that there might have been 4 or more Avatars before Pavi and Nisha. Those Avatars were exiled from the Havens or straight up executed. Then Pavi and Nisha only found out about them when trying to communicate with Korra and spoke to these random kids instead.
1
u/RecommendsMalazan 16h ago
My theory - apocalypse happened, Korra died, etc. People escaped from this into the spirit world. Pavi and Nisha were born there, living around the tree of time, pretty sure that's what we saw in that flashback. Something happened, Pavi lost her leg, both her and Nisha got frozen in the tree of time for 200 years. Something happened, they got out, they got separated, blah blah.
1
u/Angel7O2 15h ago
While it would be neat the show having 20+ kids avatars is cool in theory but having them never reached adulthood would be a bit overkill especially if they were hunted down by people against the avatar.
1
u/_IratePirate_ 14h ago
I mean I have questions and this was definitely one of them. I was having faith the show would explain this to me tho
1
1
u/OwnRepresentative916 5h ago
This has been clear since the synopsis and multiple interviews since. The only people who still believed it were either ignorant of all of this material or thought we were actively being lied to.
1
u/Capable_Tie3841 5h ago
I'm glad they confirmed this. I thought the idea that there was a whole other cycle between Korra and Pavi/Nisha was silly, but I didn't immediately dismiss it because I hadn't heard them say that they were the directly. It does definitely raise a question about the gap between. But that's one of the many mysteries about this show that I'm looking forward to figuring out!
I think that's one of the benefits we have: that this is one narrative, like the original Avatar: Last Airbender. I love Legend of Korra, but I think having multiple separated stories did make it a slightly weaker show, only slightly! Regardless, it's going to be fun watching this as it comes out. I did it with the original show, I did it with Korra! I'm so happy to be doing it with Seven Havens!
1
u/ApolloCae 3h ago
I may be stupid, but from the vision that the red diamond showed them, it seemed like their parents were standing in from of republic city.... I thought they were somehow taken away and stuck in some Aang-style preservation until now.
1
u/AlbertW25 15h ago
It's gonna be time travel. I'm calling it.
The scientists in Republic City were trying to create a Time Machine using spirit energy and the portals. Shit went wrong.
Oooo...imagine if one of the books in this series is called TIME.
Now when Pavi and Nisha got hit by the Fear Demon they saw a glimpse of the destruction of what I would assume was Republic City. Now either this was a memory they had because they are the incarnation of Korra and thus its their memories together or...Pavi and Nisha were there when the world went to crap but that would mean...they weren't the Avatar. They aren't the next incarnation. They were somehow given the power via Korra which leads to theory 2...
If not Time Travel, the scientists were trying to create their own Avatar that could use all four elements. Some sort of Clone project or something and that went wrong?
4
u/NeverNoMarriage 14h ago
Can almost grunted it won't be time travel. The whole reason they did this apocalyptic 3rd season was people hated the technological advancements
1
u/pomagwe 7h ago
If they wanted to get away from technology, they wouldn't have based the whole artstyle for the new show on one of the most influential sci-fi artists of the 20th century, and they probably wouldn't have given the show such a syth-heavy soundtrack instead of the traditional and contemporary soundscape of the previous shows.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ellora ended up being relatively backwards in the grand schemes of things, with some of the other Havens being more futuristic.
And that's not even getting into whatever was going on in the world before the cataclysm, which will obviously still be relevant to the current plot.

1
u/endlessmeat 16h ago
I once again ask that these kinds of posts get tagged as spoilers and that the titles should be less revealing.
Not everyone wants to know everything that is said in materials outside of the series itself and want to experience it as it develops.
And maybe I should just mute all Avatar subs, but I think I should first just ask you to please consider other people that love this universe but don't like to be spoiled of everything about a new series before watching it.
7
u/Prudent_Solid_3132 16h ago
This isn’t a spoiler
As others have commented, since the start with the promotions, Pavi was stated to be the avatar after Korra
1
u/endlessmeat 14h ago
If it's information that has not been revealed in the episodes that have aired, it's a spoiler. Promotional materials can (and often do) spoil things.
There could be an argument about this specific information being not that big of a spoiler, but I'm generally arguing about all of these posts that are "X person in the creative team reveals/confirms this thing!"
2
u/Prudent_Solid_3132 14h ago
Sure you can argue it’s a spoiler
But what you can’t argue(and this is what many people here are saying) acting like this interview they just released is somehow destroying some kind of mystery that could have been revealed in the show when there was never a mystery to begin with.
Again, promotional did spoil that, but people shouldn’t get upset when they hype up a theory that was already debunked from the start before the show even aired.
3
u/acerbus717 16h ago
This isn’t a spoiler it’s just the basic synopsis, nothing about why there was no avatar or what cause the destruction is answered, that’s the primary mystery of the series
-1
u/Fuzzy_Dragonfruit472 16h ago
Why would they do that ? Give yourself some room for the future if you want. They could left that as a possibility
7
4
u/TheAlphaRanger2011 16h ago
But if that wasn’t what they intended then it’s not what they intended and since it’s not what they intended they can shut it down if they want to
-1
u/Namelessgoldfish 15h ago
The thing about mystery is that things no longer become a mystery if you keep shutting down any theories
2
u/TheAlphaRanger2011 15h ago
But that was never part of the mystery. The mystery aspect is still there, they just confirmed that Pavi is the DIRECT Avatar after Korra, which we’ve been known since the announcement, this isn’t anything new.
This is the only theory i’ve seen get shut down when it comes to this show. The mystery is still there, it never went anywhere, they are literally just repeating what they’ve already said and people are getting upset about it.
1
u/Namelessgoldfish 15h ago
Is this something we would not learn in the show? If not, then sure, confirm it. But if we WILL learn it on the show, which would make no sense if we didn’t, then maybe let us figure it out when the time comes?
1
u/TheAlphaRanger2011 15h ago
Did you ignore that I said that we already knew this is the Avatar DIRECTLY after Korra before the show even started airing?
We already knew this stuff. We know there hasn’t been other Avatars because it’s been TOLD TO US BEFORE THE SHOW STARTED AIRING.
There is no reason to get upset at us literally being told what we already knew. How are you missing this?
3
u/jr9386 15h ago
The issue is that if we got multiple Avatars in that 200 year period, it'd take the gravitas away from all the hate for Korra.
Pavi and Nisha would have other Avatars to rely on etc.
I'm starting to wonder if Nisha was granted the ability to bend the other elements as part of some energybending experiment.
Maybe an Airbender figured it out, after Aang reestablished and potentially recorded what he learned from Sonam?
Maybe it was Korra herself who spent her remaining years learning about her past lives via scrolls etc.
If Unalaq knew about Vaatu, and The Denied knew about Sonam, maybe there is more to the past lives that we don't know?
Maybe Nisha is being trained as a weapon by the White Lotus, a trend Korra experienced during her lifetime, hence the allusion to the White Lotus of Yang Chen's time?
Maybe they're who turned against Korra, as we see in the play?
Maybe Nisha isn't part of the Avatar cycle proper, but is similar to what happened with Yue and the Moon spirit?
Maybe Ravaa saw that one twin was dying and gave a portion of herself to support that twin? In doing so, creating twin Avatars? Perhaps recalling Roku's suffering when his twin died? Maybe Korra made that request of Ravaa?
1
1
u/JusticeNoori 16h ago
I suppose if there is one avatar in that time, then there must be four, and that’s repetitive from a storytelling perspective.
0
u/Zerepa97 14h ago
I'm sorry but what future?
Two hundred years between Korra's story and Pavi's would've meant just people dying young in an apocalypse/post-apocalypse.
What stories would there be to tell? Also, how does that impact any other story they would want to tell with any other past Avatars? The main series has been pretty clear one its format.
-3
u/Syronic-223 15h ago
That's just kinda stupid. Bc usuallly the next Avatar is almost immediately born directly after the previous one has died. So why didn't they let there be like, multiple other Avatars over the 200 something years after Korra?
3
u/Ranulf_5 14h ago
I mean, it’s 100% going to be explained. Obviously whatever happened with Korra and the Great Cataclysm is going to be central to ASH’s world building
I get if you don’t like it, but you’re acting like it’s a plot hole when it is a plot point
2
u/drunkenstyle 14h ago
It will literally be explained in the show. You have to watch and find out. It's one of the top mysteries/questions and central plot points that the show's marketing campaign wanted you to speculate on during its pre-release advertising.
Media illiteracy is really high in the Avatar fandom and I don't know why
2
1
u/Zannahrain3 15h ago
Idk man I wonder if her losing the connection to her past avatars and something to do with a cataclysm that caused some weird shit to happen. It might affect the reincarnation a bit.
1
u/Littleleaf6 10h ago
U realize there was “no” avatar for 100 years with Aang right? It will be explained in the show why there is a 200 yr gap obviously
-1

Would’ve been cooler if the avatar just got sacrificed for a few generations

I think it'd be a lot cooler and add to the world if there were a few or even a full cycle of avatars who never made it to maturity. It'd make the twins' circumstances more dire imo, like obs they're the main characters so they'll be fine but it'd be really interesting if they had to fight just for their own survival in this world let alone bring balance to it. Haven't watched the show yet but I hope it really leans into the post apocalyptic vibe, like this world should be extremely dangerous with casualties happening to friend and foe alike, like I said I'm excited, despite the fact the Avatar Aang movie didn't interest me whatsoever just because they refused to bring back any of the old VA's, like I sort of understand but it makes me not interested in that movie since part of why I loved the original show WAS THE GOD DAMN VOICE ACTORS 😭😭😭, not to hate, I'm sure I'll like the new show once I finally give it a watch 👍, atleast I'll actually give it a chance unlike Avatar Aang that threw out the idea of a reunion movie before they even made it ☠️, nice fan-fic movie I guess ☠️☠️☠️, sort of reminds me of those terrible comics...again not trying to hate but I feel like they should leave the original show/era alone if they're gonna change soooo much of its identity, I'm glad they're focusing on this new era and on expanding characters like Avatar Kuruk, I'm much more interested in this show and that project than I was in Avatar Aang or any of the continuations of the OG

I appreciate that they’re talking so much and giving interviews, but honestly I’d like it if they didn’t give up mysteries so much. Let the audience learn the truth with the way you’ve written the show.
Edit: I know that this has been confirmed in promotional materials for a while that Pavi is the avatar following Korra, I just mean to say that I dislike getting information that affects how people view the story from outside show sources.
