I bought a car from my couch and didn’t deal with any annoying dealerships or salespeople. It was surreal and so easy. I picked the color, interior and specs I wanted without browsing what’s on a lot or available. When I saw that hedgehog my stomach dropped. It was almost too easy. I almost want to cancel it now. But the reality is I get like 15mpg in my bronco and it’s just incredibly uncomfortable to drive. I hope I made the right choice.

Pulled the trigger yesterday and I’m super excited and I can’t wait to use FSD for my commute to work! First few items I plan to get:

1. Spigen OneTap | Screen Mount (Mag Fit) or should I get
   MagBak Phone Mount And Charger?

2. 15% Llumar FormulaOne Pinnacle tint all around

3. All floor mats (maybe 3W?)

The reason popup after taking over from FSD is annoying. I end up tapping random options just to dismiss it—not giving accurate feedback.

Please let us disable the automatic prompt while keeping voluntary reporting available. I don’t know how Tesla uses these answers, but meaningless selections could add noise instead of helping improve FSD.

Anyone else doing this? Would you use an opt-out?

Just wondering if anyone has gotten a model y performance delivered recently. I see a lot of premiums getting delivered but never any MYPs. The wait gets harder and harder!!!

I’m looking to make the leap from gas to electric and am eyeing a Tesla, but I’d love some real-world feedback from drivers with hilly, curvy commutes before I pull the trigger on a specific trim.

My daily drive takes me up and over a winding mountain pass with noticeable elevation changes. Right now, I drive a 2020 Subaru Forester AWD. Despite the Forester’s high ground clearance (which you’d think might make it feel a bit floaty or top-heavy in tight turns), the traction control and symmetrical AWD system have been rock-solid. Even in heavy rain on steep, slick curves, it stays completely planted, and I never feel nervous about losing grip. It’s set a pretty high bar for wet-weather confidence, and it’s the main thing I know I’ll miss when moving on from ICE vehicles.

On paper, a Tesla seems like it should naturally handle well in the wet—the skateboard battery pack sits right on the floor, providing a low center of gravity and serious downward weight to help tires bite into the pavement. That said, for those who commute through wet, twisty mountain roads:

* Does the Dual Motor AWD make a noticeable difference in rainy conditions, especially when accelerating out of uphill corners?

* How does the traction control on the single-motor RWD feel on slick climbs and descents? Does it feel tail-happy or cut power too abruptly when wet?

* For anyone who specifically transitioned from a Subaru AWD to a Tesla RWD or AWD, how did the wet-weather handling compare?

Would love to hear your experiences before deciding whether the AWD upgrade is a must-have or just a nice-to-have for rain.

Edit: thanks for the info, y'all! I'm leaning toward RWD and all-weather tires. I live in Texas so I'm only concerned about rain, not snow.

I'm buying a used Model Y from a private seller, and we agreed on $41,500. He still owes around $39k on his Tesla loan, which he showed me in the app.

I'm paying cash, so the idea is to pay off the $39k loan and give him the remaining $2,500. Just not sure how to go about this safely since neither of us has done this before.

We looked into KeySavvy, but they said they couldn't handle the transaction for us.

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Can I just pay Tesla directly to clear his loan and pay him the difference? How does the title transfer work if Tesla still has a lien on the car? And would I be able to take the car home the same day, or do I have to wait until the title is released?

Also curious how you guys handled payment, temporary tags, and transferring ownership in the Tesla app.

I switched to rwd to awd yesterday, and like everyone said, got vin assigned over night. And also got 2027 vin. I have some questions before I get delivered.

1. When should I get the insurance?
   
2. How did you pay down payment?
   
3. How long does it usually take to get delivered after vin assigned?

Has anyone here gone from a truck to a model y? Thinking of trading my f-150 for a MYP.
A little hesitant to do so. Can’t justify keeping the truck and getting the Y. So it would have to go. I no longer own a boat so the only towing I do is a utility trailer on occasion.
Am I crazy? I hate my commute. Would love to just let my Tesla drive me to work. Concerned about not being able to go out on rough trails for camping etc… I do not want a cyber truck. Not my thing.

While it is frustrating to those that purchased and took possession of a car just recently, it is good news to many of those that are in the Tesla ecosystem.

most relaxing traffic stop ever. was in chill mode and knew I didn’t do a thing wrong heck my car was driving. wasn’t playing on my phone either. turns out the cop could not see my temporary tag/plate in my rearview windshield. It was just trying to get dusk out the time of day made it hard.

She was super friendly apologized that it was so hard to see it. I said no problem. But the pure chill feeling knowing you were not speeding or doing anything crazy even accidently was amazing.

I got sick of waiting for the Halloween update to get a cool Halloween wrap for the app. So I made one for myself. With Blackjack. And Hookers. Anyway, here it is. You can use it if you want. It is for the older body model.

I live in Georgia, so snow isn’t a big concern. Does anyone know if AWD increases insurance rates significantly? Is AWD worth the extra cost? Planning to keep it for 5+ years. Any advice is appreciated!

Mirror tilting up and down is okay, but cant fold the mirror. Does it need a replacement? First time dealing with this 🙏

There is much discussion on the pros and cons of tires for these vehicles. I'd like to hear from Model Y owners regarding their real world experiences for actual tire mileage life. I see tires with high mileage warranties (with caveats, I know) but I'm wondering if anyone is actually getting more than 30K on a set of tires and if so, which tire. Specifically 19'' tires rotated per specifications. (I rotate at 5K).

Had an alert that my 2024 model y needed the low voltage battery replaced. Tried to order one with not much luck. Finally called the authorized Tesla service center, was just going to buy the part, and install myself, but they insisted they do it. They put it in, noticed the code was still on, and figured I needed to reset it. Turned the car off and waited. Restarted, still has the error. Called them and told them the issue. They had me bring it back in. They messed with it for a bit and said they were going to order a new battery and try that.

Was told that Tesla could sometimes clear it remotely, by grok. Can't figure out how to get ahold of them.
