Of the two which would you recommend an absolute beginner start with?

i feel like this is so offensive to ask, i’ve been on both sides of readings i’ve given readings for years and often gotten readings when i felt i couldn’t tap into my own readings because of my emotions, ive never asked to test a reader, and i find it so rude when people ask me this, yes i sent this client on her way, and it’s just off the principle! i’m sure we’ve talked about this before but are any readers actually giving test questions out? i cleanse before and after each reading and take my time to tap in and i don’t like the thought of doing that to prove a point to someone it really irks me. i’ve gotten readings and some readers aren’t accurate, that’s how i know 🤷😂 and then i just don’t get readings from them again (no one on here btw) sorry for my rant but this is just a peeve of mine especially when it’s dumb questions one time someone asked me to tell them if they like cats or dogs 🙄 i told this person this was offensive and i wasn’t the reader for them. i really try to be nice but it gets hard sometimes on top of a million people asking for free readings all day without even saying hi.
update: her response was if someone’s going to hand over $20 for a reading they should be able to test, which is another pet peeve cause i’m sure she doesn’t go to her hairstylist or nail lady and say that. sorry i probably sound horrible 🫣 but i just find this so rude

i want to compare more experienced/different thoughts to my own. learning and looking to see different perspectives. this is for myself. thank you!
i request that if you want to leave an opinion, to look at mine afterwards, and also remember i am absolutely new/ not deeply involved in reading and this is a hobby for me so i am not knowledgeable to any extent. i wanna hear raw feedback if possible and i would hate if my interp influences anyone else’s opinion! lol
my interpretation : picking up (7 of swords), carefulness as the blades rest on flesh, delicate ; the beginning of something new (death), the ability to be oneself (the art shows someone covering their face) ; new beginnings (9 of coins), prosperity, change in scenery, less worry (the snake slithers away unbothered in the art), happiness, and care. i see this is a positive representation of making a big or stressful move with a positive attitude and mindset leading to a beautiful new beginning.

Hi! I'm a bit newer to tarot, and have been generally trying to learn more about the meanings of the cards.
However, I recently got a new, themed deck, that I love, but the guidebook that came with it gives explanations and meanings to the cards that are quite different from the meanings I have been learning about the OG tarot deck.
So for example, King of Cups from what I've gathered, is typically talking about emotional control or diplomacy. But in the guidebook of my new deck, it says the King of Cups is about artistic passions and decision-making. I know that these meanings are not mutually-exclusive, but they are different enough that it makes my interpretations a bit harder.
In general, I recognize that tarot has a lot to do with intuition, but especially as a newer reader, it's hard for me to be guided in the right direction because I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking in the direction the guidebook provides, or the typical direction of the card. So my main question is if the guidebook and the creator's intent of the card is usually meant to outweigh the general meanings? Sorry if this question wasn't phrased well TT I tried my best to explain.
But any advice is appreciated!

I paid an online tarot reader for a reading about someone I like. They assumed we’d been in a relationship, changed their explanation when I corrected them, and quickly offered an extra paid “love spell.”
When I declined and questioned the reading, they threatened to contact him. I paid the full agreed price, but they then demanded much more money, threatening to publish our conversation or tell him everything.
They have our full names and birthdates, plus my payment receipt. There’s no proof they’ve contacted anyone yet. Has anyone dealt with this? How should I handle it?

Look, I have my own beliefs and a solid grasp on how I view the universe, but I have to vent about this. These TikTok tarot and psychic readings honestly drive me crazy.
It is actually pretty messed up if you really sit down and think about it. These creators are just relying on the Barnum effect. They throw out super vague, generalized statements that could apply to literally anyone. But because our brains are naturally wired to look for patterns, we project our own specific lives onto what they are saying. We fill in the blanks to make it fit. I will admit, I have even fallen for it a few times myself if I am having an off day.
People genuinely believe this stuff is highly personalized. They are making real life decisions or getting genuinely stressed out over scripts that are literally just designed to be engagement bait and go viral. The creators just say general things and do not seem to realize or care how much harm they are causing by playing with people's heads when they are vulnerable. It is just manipulative.

I've recently become interested in both cardistry and tarot, and thought it'd be really cool to do both in one.
When I say cardistry, I mean things like cool looking shuffles, fun ways to display them as you work with the cards, and learning different ways to split the deck, ect ect. I wouldn't be manipulating the cards results in ways any different to normal shuffling, or attempting to perform magic tricks or anything like that.
My only real concerns come from perhaps overuse/damage of the cards, and potential disrespect to the culture/spirituality (?). I'm not sure what the correct word to use there is exactly.
I know that for cardistry, when practicing, cards tend to get bent, curved, or damaged around the edges, especially when you're still new and learning. Some people have told me that bending or overusing tarot cards can be seen as disrespectful or bad luck, while others have told me that shuffling and constant use is a great way to form a bond with your deck, and that damaged cards can just show the amount of use and love. Of course I have no intention of damaging or running the cards and wouldn't be doing it out of purposeful spite of malice, but I know that it's likely bound to happen with something like cardistry.
The other thing as well is I'm not entirely sure on the whole spiritual side yet? I hope that doesn't come off as offensive or rude, I'm still very new to this and lwk a little... Skeptical (?) still. I'm not a very religious or spiritual person, and can't help but think of it all as coincidental or just probability card draw wise. I think of it less as like reading or deciding the fates, and more as a way of physically visualising your thoughts. Certain cards have certain meanings associated with them, and you use contextual clues around the questions, the symbolism that the card shows, what jumps out at you first, the environment, and the person asking the question to build a sort of intuitive story. It's a way to realise subconscious thoughts of feelings that you've had but haven't been able to conceptualize externally or visually, and the cards, like, provide that bridge of realisation. Idk. I'm kind of saying this to preface that I don't see it as a spiritual thing (not because I think it's silly or anything, but just because I can't bring myself to unfortunately, similar with religion ect), but I know alot of people do, and I don't want to do anything that could be disrespectful to people who understand it more deeply and care in a different way.
All that being said, the cards are massive in my hands in comparison to normal playing cards, so I'm not even sure if it's a possibility. Especially since I'm still new to both cardistry and tarot.
Sorry this is so long and wordy, I just really don't want to upset anyone :(
Tldr -- is practicing shuffling tricks with tarot decks disrespectful to the cards or the people who use them?

I was asking some questions about buying a house, when the right one will pop up and to give a general time frame. I asked the date and got the 7 of cups, then I asked can you provide me the date using the major arcana (time frame seems to be between 22nd and 19th of 2 months) and I pulled the exact same card as before.
I found it kind of funny and I said “well I think that you are kind of silly, what do you think of that?”
7 of pentacles: I took this as my deck was unimpressed with me, like “are you being serious right now?” Kind of like a sort of impatience with me.
Then followed up with: “Are you unimpressed because you think I’m not taking you seriously?”
The Fool.
I had to laugh a bit at this exchange. Has anyone else experienced this? What do you think of the interpretation?

Ok starting off I know it’s a lot of cards when I shuffled the first 3 fell out and I then asked for any more confirmation or clarification and pulled the 2 on the bottom. I’m fairly new to doing my own readings so I’m having trouble getting my answers super clear but for context I’m friends with a guy for about 4-5 years and we had feelings for each other I believe but he decided it wasn’t a good idea to expand on it so we left it at that now we are both in relationships and he is extremely difficult to read, he keeps everything strictly platonic but he lurks on my boyfriends social medias and his girlfriend too and just seems off with me why he will be cold or blunt/act like he doesn’t care at all with me a majority of the time but do things like that I’m having a hard time making sense of it and we currently haven’t talked in a while
On the top row I pulled 3 of swords, 8 of pentacles, and 7 of cups and on the bottom row for more context/clarification I pulled the tower sideways and 4 of pentacles
What I’m kind of getting from the top row is that he feels hurt by me in some way but he still wants to be friends and improve things but still has mixed emotions about our friendship, and then for the bottom row I’m getting something being delayed between us or resisting change in our friendship because he is vulnerable over his emotions. I don’t want to cherry-pick and just strictly look for good meanings in my readings so I’m wondering about anyone else’s interpretation to my reading
About them lurking on my boyfriends social media I asked why he was doing it and pulled ace of swords, and when I asked why his girlfriend was doing it I pulled 10 of wands I think for him it’s just him being nosy and for her some sort of stress I’m not too sure about these ones so I’d love a second opinion on all of this

I bought my first tarot deck last December and I’ve come on really well, I hardly have problems interpreting readings for myself and I feel very connected to my deck. Naturally being a young woman my friends have asked me to do readings for them, here’s my issue - I am extremely bad at interpreting for other people, is it possible that my deck is just simply MY deck? Whenever I do a reading for my close friends everything just feels so off! Or is this just because I’m fairly new and not too experienced? Has anyone else got this problem?

I’ve been really anxious lately because my partner and I been going to a rough patch like any regular couple, I’m not new to what tarot is but I’m new to using tarot for my own personal purposes, and this has been the toughest question in my mind and I was hoping to get a accurate reading
For me, at least everytime I read them and ask the same question over and over again they always tell me “yes but with time, with patience and effort”
My interpretation is that it is possible for reconciliation but with time (once again) suggesting a potential reunion, while anxiety, avoidance, and unresolved issues that need to be addressed first but also moving forward and leaving past problems behind.
So I would love if someone else would interpret them instead of doing it myself as someone’s who not really professionalized in tarot

The heart of the career is my genoristy and good intentions (6 of pentacles) and in the past it represented my own spiritual goals, purpose and creating a loving world (ace of wands). But now my emotions are all over the place in an almost childlike way. I enjoy life's pleasures too much(?) (page of cups). I need to focus on my unconscious mind and intuition (9 of swords rvs). If nothing changes it will cause stress in my relationship (2 of cups rvs). Death popped out while shuffling, not sure of the significance but maybe overarching financial problems

hi all!! i'm looking to find the RWS lineart with transparent backgrounds for some free educational things, but i'm struggling to find them!
pretty sure that the images i'm specifically looking for are from the pictorial key to the tarot. the best i've found is on wikimedia, but the backgrounds are solid white and i'm finding it super difficult to reliably remove all the white areas of the images (especially in the detailed areas) and it just seems to be way more trouble than its worth.
alternatively i've found several paid ones on etsy that obviously arent too expensive but i'd rather check in with the community to see if anyone has files or knows where i can access files before i naively spend, especially since the cards are mostly public domain and it feels sketchy to spend money on that sometimes :-)

Hello, I’m wondering how this spread showed what would happen on the first date. Firstly I asked if I should have gone and I got-
two of wands, three of pentacles, the sun.
I interpreted it as a yes, that we would create connection and build relationship.
then I asked what would happen on the date and got
page of swords, ace of wands, six of pentacles.
I thought it meant that we would be open to each other and have fun.
The date didn’t go well, he was so touchy which made me so uncomfortable I had to go home. def will not see him again.
so what do you think?

I'm still pretty new to tarot (I just picked them up after finding a deck I was gifted about 5 years ago). I've always interpreted moments in nature, interactions with animals, and seemingly minor coicidences as divine influence which is what drove me to do this reading, however, I cant seem to figure out which deity it is. I would love to hear other interpretations of this spread!

Here's my personal interpretations as of so far. If there is more insight as I'm new, I would also really appreciate it!
Nine of Swords is also known as the Lord of Despair and Cruelty according to the Golden Dawn system. With nines typically being a sign of introspection and in combination of swords ruling intellect and logic, I see this card as a call to remove yourself from negative cycles. So a deity of betterment?
The moon has always alluded me but I feel it represents the manifestation of fears and illusions and that this deity will help a lot with shadow work and the betterment of self, intuition, and the internal space.
I like reading the devil as the card of unconventionality. In which temptations, attachments, and addiction are forms of expression that, in its worst extremes are ruinous. It's almost a type of balance between indulgence. With the deity does it represent one that is more tied to the earthly pleasures in life over the spiritual ones and higher callings?
Queen of Wands is where I got really confused. I know she is associated with passionate action, creativity, and a protective nature, however I'm not sure what deities necessarily have power over this or if I'm interpreting it correctly.
Six of Pentacles is the balance of exchange, dynamics, and earthly forces/dynamics. I don't know how this balance connects to the previous cards. If this deity is associated with generosity and financial/material harmony, as well as betterment of self, I'm at a loss.
Thank you for the help!

my mom is going through a LOT right now, don’t get me wrong, it’s entirely her doing. she was an awful mom. but i’ve kinda been worried for her safety and if she might try to harm herself. of course i hate her for what she did, but that does not mean i ever want her to go that far.
so i need an interpretation of my tarot reading. i asked if she is going to kill herself and received upright five of cups. i am able to put my own interpretation on this, but i’m newer to tarot so i wanna know more. i believe it expresses that she will not be trying anything RIGHT NOW, but could potentially later on. she is going through a rough patch but she might be able to get past it. i did not do a particular spread, just a one card pull. i did try searching it, but of course everything i tried just gave me suicide hotline, rightfully so.
if anyone could give interpretations, i would greatly appreciate it!!

I get the sense that its not something huge that will shatter my world or anything but theres something. I was about to ask why i feel this energy when he he normally very normal and sweet but is quick to use harsh words that sound mean. He normally explains them then bc i demand it and it always makes sense and is something that i literally agree with-but he just used dumb words to describe it. I asked if an end was coming to his very self protective behaviour that causes him to be defensive bc of past trauma and therefore act colder or word things too harshly and i got four of cups, the hanged man, the emperor, nine of cups, death card, temperance, the pope and the female pope with the king of coins at the bottom of the deck. I also looked under the king of coins at the bottom of the deck and got five of cups and two of cups. Welp help me read this please🥲

Can anyone help me interpret these tarot cards and explain them to me? I’m brand new to all this. I’m also going through a period of career change and finding it very stressful and unsettling. Thanks very much 💫

I’ve been having numerous dreams and obsessive thoughts about her lately and I’m not sure it im tripping or it’s her I don’t care to get back with her but I just have a feeling you know. We ended things around a year ago at this time and recently I’ve been having dreams and fatigue insomnia and I’ve been feeling quite sick we have been no contact for about 10 months. I believe she is but I need another opinion.
1. 4 of pentacles
2. The empress reversed
3. Queen of wands
4 Knight of pentacles reversed

I’m still learning tarot so I’m wondering how others may interpret this spread since him and I are currently in no contact.
My interpretation is that he’s in a suspended/paused period but still wants or hopes for a meaningful or potential connection. Would love to see what others think.

context: for the past 7 or so years, i've been aspiring to become an academic. things were working out last year, i got a fully funded masters scholarship, completed my masters, now i'm back home applying for PhD funding.
besides academics, i worked in a uni, in student support.
i decided to do a tarot reading because i felt very weird when my friends in the charity/ngo sector were discussing their salaries. i've never made that amount of money. a friend even disclosed her salary and said she thought it was too little. it was double what i used to earn before my masters.....
i always knew an academic path wasn't the most financially rewarding. i'm wondering if i'm making a huge mistake. i really love research though, enjoy my discipline so much, and i care deeply about the kind of work that i want to do. the thought of working at an office fills me with such dread. i also know that if i were to get a job like my friends (which i have been applying to), there's no way i'm going to earn that much, because i never have.
anyway. i didn't know what to do so i did a three card spread (situation, obstacles, outcome) about my career.
here's what i got:
situation - five of swords
i feel that this card is saying that i have too much ambition, in the wrong direction. that it's costing me too much. or i feel that it is, anyway
obstacle - the emperor
i think it's saying i struggle with rational thinking. that i'm too optimistic (about my career) and lack the discipline to work a "real job"
outcome - three of wands
movement. expansion. something to look forward to. i'll make a decision. i don't know what though
flyer cards:
king of wands - i've messed around a lot in life but i'll settle down, it'll be okay. all hope isn't lost
ace of cups rev - not quite sure about this one. a loss of emotional connection? but what kind? i don't know what this could mean to be fair except that an emotional attachment i have may be in trouble
my feelings this entire time:
i don't want it to be true. i don't want the first two cards to be true. i really love academia. i don't want to let go of it. i feel like i'm being unrealistic and childish but i enjoy it too much. i just feel confused. do i kill my desires? do i do what everyone else is doing? this applies to things like marriage too btw. most people in my country get into arranged marriages. im 27 and alr too old, and i've told my family i don't want to go that route. i don't want to stay in this country. i want to move away, somewhere where 27 isn't too old for anything. am i too optimistic?

the three 10s make me feel that for him this might be a closed chapter even though 10 of pentacles and 10 of cups are really nice cards. 10 of swords could signify a painful ending, the magician might be his agency and that he is aware he is capable of changing things if he makes a move, knight of wands makes me think that his feelings are inconsistent and impulsive but knight of cups signifies that their still might be some romantic feelings present? the emperor means that he is exercising restraint over whatever he feels and the star means that he wants to move on and heal? i kind of have a negativity bias so this reading seems pretty bleak to me tbh.

Quando mischiate per stendere le carte e saltano alcune dal mazzo, le considerate?
