Since I have been playing quite a bit of SMO lately, I come up with my own kingdom called the Library Kingdom. Other than the brochure and souvenir shop attached, here is my blurb about it!
Country based on: Austria
Description: Step into a realm where imagination has been carved into towering monuments of stone and parchment. The Library Kingdom is a timeless sanctuary suspended over the shimmering, deep-indigo waves of the Ink Ocean. Here, the majestic capital city of Volúme rises story by story, built entirely out of gravity-defying bookshelves, grand Gothic archives, and thousands of ancient dictionary bindings.
As you wander through the comforting aroma of weathered leather and vanilla pages, you'll encounter the charming, local Page-Turners—scholarly bookworm citizens who maintain a strict code of absolute silence. Whether you are scaling the winding staircases of The Great Index Tower, searching for hidden entryways in the shifting Card Catalog Maze, or brave enough to hunt for The Lost Pages near the forbidden Restricted Section, a legendary adventure is waiting to be uncovered. Grab your bookmark, adjust your cap, and prepare to turn the page on your next great journey!
Boss: The Bibliosphinx, a massive, ancient stone sphinx completely covered in glowing runes, with wings made of shifting, ancient parchment papers.
Total power moons: 42 green power moons
Power moon breakdown list:
What kingdoms would you come up with?

I was messing around in metro kingdom doing trickjumps over the clouds but I fell and I saw a sort of platform at the bottom right of the screen. I’m really curious, what is this ?

Is it possible to ground pound jump off of the orange juice ball onto the platform that the line is drawn to? Because I have been trying for like an hour and I can't get it.

I just recently beat Darker Side and got the invisibility cap, so I was thinking that if you wanted to make a trickjump harder, you could do it while invisible, and it could be a sort of sub-category of pre-existing trickjumps. Another idea I had was juice jumps. Basically, you have to ground-pound jump off of the juice orb/capsule on top of the Odyssey and get to a destination. Any thoughts?

If one game could have saved my 2017, it was Super Mario Odyssey.
So complex without being complicated. So fun without retreading tried-and-tested old ground. So lovable without veering into saccharine.
I adore every single second of every single moment of this game, not just for being the first and only 3D Mario I’ve ever completed (don’t come at me, you cannot make me more ashamed than I already am), but for saving a tough year.
Personal life stuff aside (a couple break-ups, leaving a job that I loved but was very, very bad at), I’d even managed to lose faith in my favourite thing - gaming.
I got into a real streak of abandoning everything I played for one reason or another. From The Flame in the Flood, which I’d been hyped for since it’s announcement and then dropped after a week or so, to Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, which I’d failed to see past the first few levels - I couldn’t get myself to finish anything.
But then came October, and on a whim, on a particularly chilly night, I went to the midnight release of Super Mario Odyssey.

After spending years deciding whether or not to do so, I've finally taken the plunge and started up a blog talking about games, so figured r/SuperMarioOdyssey was a good place to let people know! I've linked the full blog, as well as the Substack itself here: https://latetogames.substack.com/p/how-super-mario-odyssey-saved-my

Several days ago, I made a post explaining what my idea of a sequel should be if Nintendo made one. I did some more thinking and decided to expand upon my ideas of what kingdoms should be in the sequel if it was to be made.
To add onto this, here is what industries each kingdom would have and what countries they are based on.
Mushroom Kingdom -> Industry: ecotourism & royal hospitality; Country based on: Southern Bavaria in Germany blended with traditional Japanese garden landscaping
Tropical Kingdom -> Industry: mass hospitality and mega-resort tourism; Country based on: The Amalfi Coast (Italy)
Farm Kingdom -> Industry: agricultural farming; Country based on: Midwestern United States (Wisconsin)
Yoshi Kingdom -> Industry: exotic fruit agriculture; Country based on: Polynesia region
Wiggler Kingdom -> Industry: sustainable forestry and premium organic botanicals; Country based on: British Columbia, Canada
Bumblebee Kingdom -> Industry: premium flower nectar harvesting & bottling; Country based on: New Zealand
Cave Kingdom -> Industry: geotourism and gemstone mining; Country based on: Vietnam
Jungle Kingdom -> Industry: banana agriculture; Country based on: The Bahamas
Sweet Kingdom -> Industry: artisan patisserie; Country based on: Switzerland
Money Kingdom -> Industry: banking and wealth management; Country based on: Monte Carlo, Monaco
Toy Kingdom -> Industry: toy craftsmanship; Country based on: Denmark
Music Kingdom -> Industry: festival and concert hospitality; Country based on: Liverpool, England (United Kingdom)
Haunted Kingdom -> Industry: paranormal ecotourism; Country based on: New Orleans Bayou, Louisiana (USA)
Dream Kingdom -> Industry: sky architecture; Country based on: Seoul, South Korea
Sarasa Kingdom -> Industry: trade; Countries based on: Egypt (Birabuto's pyramids), The Bermuda Triangle (Muda's ruins), Easter Island, Chile (Easton's cliffs), and Feudal China (Chai's bamboo forests)
Koopa Kingdom -> Industry: weaponry; Country based on: Feudal Japan

I know a Super Mario Odyssey sequel will never happen as it's been almost 10 years since the release of the game. However, if Nintendo was to do a sequel, here is my idea...
Story: This takes place after the events of Super Mario Odyssey. Mario, Cappy, Peach, Tiara, and friends are all relaxing at Mushroom Kingdom one morning in the castle courtyard while Bowser is still stranded on the moon still reeling from Peach rejecting him once again. Because he is too sore from her rejection to even WANT to kidnap her again (let's keep Peach's independence here like in 3D World), Bowser hatches a plan to finally achieve world domination. Since his ship is broken, he finds an ancient spacecraft on the moon and flies back to earth on that. Once Bowser gets to Mushroom Kingdom, he shoots the Odyssey's balloon and all of the Power Moons fly away to new kingdoms across the globe. Mario, for once, is fully focused on defeating Bowser to save the world, without having to worry about rescuing Peach. Also, not only would Mario/Cappy be playable, so would Peach/Tiara; Luigi and Cappio, who is Cappy and Tiara's cousin; Toad and Toppy, Cappy's best friend; and once you defeat Bowser, Rosalina gets unlocked with Dia (diadem), who is Cappio's younger sister and also Cappy and Tiara's cousin.
There would be a total of 19 kingdoms, 16 during the game and 3 post-game.
Main story:
Post-game:
This world is a breathtaking, surreal dreamscape floating in a fractured, starry expanse. It is constructed entirely from shattered pieces of Mario’s 40-year history. It is an emotional, high-stakes final playground where platforms are made of giant SNES controllers, floating blocks from Super Mario Land, and iconic landmarks from his greatest adventures—all twisted together into a massive, reality-bending obstacle course. You can throw Cappy at a legendary floating Wing Cap lets you capture the cap itself! This grants the player their classic Super Mario 64 flight physics. You can triple-jump into the air to take flight, soaring across massive voids while managing your dive-and-climb momentum to stay airborne. The final showdown would be Chrono-Bowser, who is made from everything from the 1985 version to the Odyssey series.
The ending: As Bowser is defeated, the Memory Matrix shatters. The reality-warping energy explodes outward in a wave of warm, golden stardust. The corrupted structures of the Memory Void begin to dissolve, returning to the peaceful cosmic sky.
Bowser is sent tumbling into a harmless, tiny warp pipe below, completely exhausted. The power moons all come returning to the Odyssey balloon and the ship is fixed and stronger than ever. With the timeline restored, a glowing path of pure stardust materializes, leading back to the Odyssey, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Rosalina all walk down the path, the floating memory bubbles around them begin to play a beautiful, chronological slideshow of Mario's entire life:
They reach the Odyssey, where Cappy, Tiara, Cappio, Toppy, and Dia are waiting, tipping their brims playfully. Mario turns back to look at the massive, glittering cosmos one last time. He catches his classic red cap as it floats out of the air, places it firmly on his head, and looks toward the camera with a confident nod.
The Odyssey fires up its multi-colored sails, blasting off into the starry night sky and leaving a trail of sparkling starlight behind it. The screen gently fades to black as the classic, nostalgic text appears on the screen:
"Thank you so much for playing my game!"
