If it does my bad lol. I wish I could set a filter to never get matched with high MR players (truthfully I should probably just be demoted back to diamond lol) because I feel bad wasting your time. Sometimes I get lucky and win against players with high MR and sometimes I lose but from what I’ve seen watching streamers both scenarios seem to annoy people.

Today, there suddenly was unstable match making issue.
It never happened before, but I got 4 consecutive disconnections, then 1 more.
I don't think it was the opponent who DCed, its just unstable state of the game.
I even opened up ping monitor to see if it was my internet, but the whole time, the internet connection was stable.
How do I get rid of this?
I can't get into ranked, casual, even battle hub.

Arjun update thankfully did not break everything, it simply changed some checksums around that my mod references. Did a full sweep on everything that changed and we are back in business!
Short story: I've wanted to see Sean come to 6 for a long time, but Capcom refuses. I've managed to get him on his own character slot, he has a working command list, and he can be played with Modern controls.
I've also brought some of his friends along with him. Thankfully, the work I did on Sean was completely reproducable. Remember when I said I wasn't sure about other characters coming? Ehhhh, sorry. I kinda fibbed.
I still have a LOT to work out with them, but most normals are done, supers are a work in progress, as well as taunt effects. They are pre-alpha, unlike Sean who is in a very nearly playable state. Authored some new Punish Counter routes for Sean I'm pretty hype about.
The character list is as follows: Sean, Q, Makoto, Dudley, Ibuki, Ken, Necro, Hugo.
I know some of you may ask: "WHY KEN AGAIN?! KEN'S ALREADY IN 6! WHY NOT X CHARACTER?!" Because I really like Ken, and I want him in. Sorry. It's a personal thing. I want to play his 3S version!
It's a standalone mod installed via Fluffy Mod Manager utilizing REFramework scripts for engine workarounds. When released, all you'll need to do is drop the mod in, install, and it will just work.
Follow me here for updates, or on X at sufficientpick.
AI DISCLAIMER: No AI was used, no AI will ever be used. Absolutely no slopcode from the hallucinating plagiarism machine was involved in the making of this mod.

Whether or not the gray damage mechanic is broken isn't necessarily what I'm talking about (although its related).
What I mean is, if you patched the gray damage mechanic out of the game entirely . . . I feel like he's still a reasonably inventive new character?
He's a setup-heavy big-body brawler with a knowledge-check buff walk. I already thought he was plenty inventive in the initial gameplay trailer without knowing anything about the gray damage gimmick.
idk . . the gray damage feels like they tried too hard to give him extra oomph when it wasn't that necessary to make him feel fresh . . . and now people seem to hate it more than anything lol.

I just had 2 consecutive disconnections from ranked match.
Both were from seemingly unintentional timing, either we were in footsies or in the middle of pressure.

I know that the first hit of a move after a DR changes its property (if I'm not mistaken, all moves have a 4 frame increase). So, some sequences that wouldn't normally combo end up comboing.
But what intrigued me was how drive rush can make negative moves safe (unless I'm not understanding it correctly).
For example, I was fighting Terry and I blocked a fire kick (-16). But he immediately followed with a DR, then a weak punch. And instead of punishing him with my weak punch, he hit me with a his weak punch in a counter hit.
How does this happen? Does a negative target combo + DR become unpunishable? I tested it in training and it seems so...

I've been playing SF6 ranked for about 40 hours, and I'm currently stuck bouncing between Diamond 2 and Diamond 3. I can make it to around the middle of Diamond 3, but I just can't seem to push any further.
One of the biggest things I'm struggling with right now is frustration. I regularly check people's profiles after matches and see that they have 500-1,000+ hours in the game, sometimes even more. I understand that we're the same rank, and technically, we're supposed to be competing at the same level. But it's hard not to feel discouraged when I'm putting in my time and constantly running into people who have so much more experience than I do.
I know that hours played don't automatically equal skill, and I'm not trying to say that I deserve Master just because I've reached Diamond. I understand that I still have a lot to leam. It's just frustrating to feel like I'm hitting a wall when I've put in around 40 hours of ranked, while some of the people l'm playing against have put in hundreds or even thousands of hours overall.
So I'm wondering: Is this a normal part of the climb to Master? Am I realistically looking at another 200, 400, or even more hours stuck in Diamond before I can break through? Or is there a point where things start to click and you make progress much faster?
For those of you who have climbed from Diamond to Master, how long did it take you? What helped you get past this stage, and how did you deal with the frustration of feeling like you weren't progressing?
I want to improve, and I'm willing to put in the work. I just don't want to spend hundreds of hours banging my head against the same wall without knowing how to approach the game differently.
I'd appreciate any advice or experiences you guys can share.
I play Alex and my SF6 name is Tidbits if anyone wants to watch my gameplay. Any advice is welcome.

I was watching Broski playing an Arjun mirror match against JuicyJoe and noticed this. As we know, Arjun's rock spire is tinted for player 2 to distinguish it in mirror matches (pictured here: JuicyJoe in front of his spire).
Makes sense. Except why is it red?! Red is the colour of Player 1's Portrait, Health and Super bar. Player 2's colour is blue. So if anything, the spire should be tinted blue, not red.
It bothers me. (And I do think it can legitimately be a little confusing in the heat of the moment)

Like how do they make 2nd and 4th fight of the tournament easy to tackle but 1st and GOD FORBID 3rd to be pure hell?!
And JP… OOOH I HATED HIM WITH A PASSION. The amount of drinks, damage reduction items, or whatever buffs i stacked up, i nearly lost all of that until i beat him by spamming.
Im glad i beat the game but my god that was the worst difficulty curve ever

Noticing in mid Platinum that my throw loops are getting beaten a lot by forward jumpers and I wonder if this is actually a decent wake up reversal strategy, it’s working against me and I can’t throw them again fast enough before they forward jump. Feel like I’m not capitalizing on my corner pressure at all with these predictable throw loops (it worked for me in Bronze-Gold lol) and now they forward jump and end up making ME in that corner after I worked hard to get them there lol.
So I went to do some labbing to figure out how to respond to opponent forward jumps that happen after I corner knockdown them off of a throw. The throw push back feels like it’s putting me too far away enough to go for another throw in time.
From what I found out with the dummy my options are (Mai main here): An air throw, a light DP (M and H seem to whiff at that close range, and with a light DP I can take my time reacting to it even if they reach super close as they fall doen), or just micro walk forward a bit and use any normal like a St HP to make their jump whiff.
Side note: as a new serious fighting game player one of the biggest things I love about SF6 is how these bad habits that pushed my rank to Platinum are now being checked and the whole labbing part where I either try to punish something that I’m constantly for, or in this case try to drop a bad habit think of the various ways to counter responses to it, is SO MUCH FUN. Idk why new players hate labbing so much.
I’m having light bulb moments figuring out this stuff.

After my Vampire Savior port that I posted yesterday I decided to take on another of my favorites, SF Alpha 2. It has a lot of the same features and they share a good amount of code via my CPS2 toolkit.
Hopefully the training mode features will be useful for people who want to train on the arcade versions that are played competitively (not me personally, I just know those people exist)
Below is the same table from the repo of the training mode features and the alternative modes.
Training Mode Features:
| What it does | |
|---|---|
| Hit boxes | The boxes the game itself tests: where a player can be hit (blue), attacks (red; orange for things thrown), pushing boxes (green) |
| Throw range | The zone in front of each player that the other's push box has to reach for a throw, as the game tests it |
| Frame data and frame meter | Startup, active and recovery of each move and the advantage after a hit or a guarded hit, counted in the game's own steps; a row of cells for each player, one a step; optionally every move written to frame_data.csv beside the settings |
| Input display | What each player presses and for how long, in numpad notation from the player's side |
| Combo readout | Hits and damage of a combo, the round's best |
| Custom Combo time | How long a Custom Combo has left |
| Stun readout | How much stun each player has taken, against how much stuns them |
| Fixed damage | No random part in a hit's damage (the average in its place), so a combo always does the same |
| Health refills | Health comes back when a player has not been hit for a moment |
| The dummy | Stands, crouches, jumps; guards (always, after a hit, at random; high or low by the game's own rule for each attack); Alpha counters (punch or kick) while guarding; softens throws; quick rise after a knock-down; or played by the game's own computer player; records and replays in three slots (one, or any at random), and can answer with a recording after guarding or being hit |
| Start over | The round as it began, in the middle or a corner, sides swapped or not (Backspace, or a gamepad's left shoulder) |
| Stage | Any of the eighteen stages, or the game's own choice |
| Stop, step, slow | Stop the game, go on a frame at a time, or play at a half, a quarter or an eighth of the speed |
Alternative Modes:
| What it does | |
|---|---|
| Training mode | A fight with no clock that nobody loses, and the aids above |
| Attract mode | The game's own show on a loop: everything, the introduction only, or one demonstration fight after another |
| Stage viewer | Any of the eighteen stages with nobody on it and no panel, scrolled with the stick or by itself, with any tune; "Infinite" scrolls through every stage in turn |
| Model viewer | One character by itself, on a stage or on plain white or black, from a quarter of its size to 25 times. It stands and moves with your controls, or goes through any of its animations (named A0, B12, C3... as the game's own lists number them; left and right step through them), over and over or all of them one after another (Play all), at full speed or in slow motion. At its own size, what the stage has in front of the fighters stays in front |
| Colour editor | Change a character's colours while you watch: custom colours |
| Survival | One computer opponent after another on the health you have left. How many can you beat? |
| Endless battle | Two fighters the game plays, for as long as you like, with no bars and no clock, on one stage, on stages that fade one into another, or on a floor that scrolls through them all. Touch the controls to take a fighter over |
| Ring out | No health. Knock your opponent over the end of the stage and jump down to the next one |
Check it out and report any issues or feature requests on github. Contributions welcome as always.

Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue with Street Fighter 6 on Steam. When I launch the game, it says “The game is not up to date”, but Steam shows no update available and gives me the normal Play button.
I’ve already tried:
Steam still thinks the game is fully updated, but SF6 continues to report that it isn’t up to date.
This started around the recent October update.
Has anyone else run into this with the latest SF6 update? Is there a way to force Steam/SF6 to download the latest game version or fix the version mismatch?
Any help would be appreciated.
