Weekly Trash Talk Thread
The Browns? They suck. The Bungles? Awful. The Ravens? They can eat it.
Throw all the logical football talk out the window and remind fans of this week's opponent why their team is inferior.
Fans of all teams are also welcome to come here and talk trash as well.

Ready for Paris
After missing out on a Dublin towel because they were all gone by the time I got to Dublin Iāve taken no chances this year. Shipped from the Pro Store to a friend in the US and then brought back to the UK for me by another friend!

Get ready for A LOT of revisionist history with this Kordell Stewart doc
There's a narrative going around that Bill Cowher "ruined" Kordell Stewart. If you're old enough to remember, Stewart had a big arm but was horribly inaccurate. He could run, so you can say he was ahead of his time in that sense, but not every running QB from the 90's would be Josh Allen today.
Stewart has more career INTs than TDs. In 2001, when he was 4th in MVP, he threw for 14 TDs and 11 INTs. He was basically the representative for a 13-3 one-seed that had an awesome defense (Bettis only played 11 games).

This defense is playing much better than you thinkš
This was originally a response to a thread on r/steelers and I thought it deserves its own post, because I think all things considered, this defense has played very well, which is contrary to most of what Iām seeing in this sub.
Agreed our defense can play better. I also think we need to consider these points ⤵ļø, before bashing on the leagues*** 1****3th** over**all* ranked defense so f**ar.
- Jamel Dean, our #1 cornerback is injured, 2 weeks ago
-Derrick Harmon, a big piece on the defensive line is injured, 3 weeks ago
-and up until about 2 weeks ago, Patrick Graham, this team, and this defense was expecting our #1 cornerback, (Joey Porter Jr) to start on this defense .
All things considered, being statistically above mid-range with these 3, missing significant impact players, actually is a source of optimism in my mind. Weāre 3-2, have lost three out of 11 starters on defense in 3 weeks, and weāre ranked to be the 13th best defense? Letās call that a win. Considering this is week 6 with a new defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham, with a completely new defense for the guys to learn and adapt to.
Can Patrick Queen and the lbs tackle better? Sure. Can we as fans blame the defense for being slightly above average, but not top 5? I think thatās unfair, considering thereās two rookies in the secondary startingā¦
and Asante Samuel jr. is stepping up to be our #1 cornerback on pretty much 2 weeks notice, when he was 3rd on the depth chart to start the season.
How many 3rd string cornerbacks in this league could have 4PBUās after being slung into playing the #1 role on such short requirement? Asante Samuel, thatās who.
I think he had a great game vs the colts, and heās holding his own. I think we should give this defense some grace.
Last week this team won without forcing any turnovers too. Thatās rare. For the last 5-6 years this was a steelers team that NEEDED a turnover to win a game. With the amount of firepower on this defense, with TJ Watt, Herbig, Highsmith, Heyward, Benton, Wilson⦠shit the REST of the defense???⦠if those turnovers start coming more often like I think they will, this is a dangerous team all around with how the offense have been putting up 24+ points the last 3 weeks.
The narrative of āthe Steelers are the highest paid defense they should be #1āā¦
Vastly overlooks the reality of how this defense as a whole has needed to adapt this season, and are still ranked 13th in the league.
This also isnāt AI. I put effort into my posts because I think my unpopular opinion takes with this sub make sense, and bolding and highlighting things make reading posts and articles easier and more fun.

So where is the pregame?
r/steelers • u/fredmerc111 • 1d ago
If you own a Steelers Jersey, make your way to 3200 S Water Street for tryouts.
You are needed at WR for the Buccaneers game on Sunday.
As of this moment, the only active WRs we have are Metcalf, Bernard, and Wetjen. Do we have any plans on signing a 4th? God forbid someone else goes down, weāll have to throw Heidenreich out there as a pass catcher.

Biggest Lie Needs Corrected
I get so tired this Lie Stephan A Smith tells he is a Steelers fan cause every year he disses us even before the season starts.
Everyone knows he is a Eagles fan when he was a sports reporter and everyone knows he is Lamar Jackson guy.
No matter what we do he gives us bad karma. We could get Arch Manning and he still rate us as a team to never be a good team.
Aaron Rodgers was his guy too. What's anyone else opinion about Stephan A Smith being a Steelers fan debate .
Deebo is hard on us but he don't prop up other teams.

More nervous
Am I the only one who's more worried about playing Daniels than Mayfield? I think Daniels has something. His mobility could wreck our defense. We better not take him lightly. Tampa may have found a diamond in the rough with him.
