Question random question time regarding recent steam service notification
ok, so, who here took a windows update yesterday shortly before seeing this notification?

this is just a basic informal cause/effect poll.

Got this when I booted up today. Yesterday I did the windows update. It’s not continuously persistent on my machine. For me it showed one time and I haven’t seen it since. Even rebooted to check. Not having issues launching games either. I read this windows update had other issues although I’ve encountered nothing else. Such as blue screens during the update.

My counter strike no longer works as a consequence. This pop up was the first thing I noticed wrong.
I have two Windows updates that applied since yesterday:
Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.146 (KB890830)
Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.461.24.0)
I fixed my CS by unticking 'run as administrator' in the cs2.exe file properties tab.

I would like to also +1 for the "This message popped up after a Windows update".
Though for me it wasn't instant as soon as steam started, it popped up around 12-2pm pst after I opened back up my laptop.

this is so stupidly worded and to put it on a random pop up like that?
could you even make it look more like suspecious malware if you tried?
I ain't agreeding to shit until they adjust it or force me
