I have a little over 800 but i also finished the majority of them.
Good chance that you mainly played about 10% of those games and the rest are just collecting dust from all those times you paid for the humble bundle choice lol.

I have 540 games and my biggest fear is that something catastrophic happens and steam shuts down which means losing all my progress across games and my profile

Hypothetically Gabe passes away.steam gos public on the stock exchange. A bunch of asshats run a perfectly functional company into the ground over a few points in the market

dude gaben is 63 years old and super rich. normally he'd live another 20 years (at least) and the fact that he's rich means he can get treatment for anything. also I think he's been on diet recently since he looks really healthy.
long live gaben, he couldn't make pc gaming any better. he also helped with linux desktop a lot.

Steamdb can alert you on free games (paid games that are free to keep). Most of them are pretty cool.

Honestly, big libraries tell a story: half of it is bundles and sales, and the other half is “I’ll definitely play this someday.” Curious, how many of those have you actually finished? And if you had to pick one game from your single-player horror shelf for someone who’s new to the genre, which would it be?

My most buy game be open world and rpg and yes horror but not those cheap horror game game like hellraiser, silent hill, resident evil those kind of horror triple a and double type of horror most of my pick would be capcom, square enix, atlus, sega, konami, saber interactive, fromsoftware mostly for those dark soul, elden ring, rise of ronin, nioh just a few example

Never understood people that just add all free games just to bloat the number. What's the point of doing that ?
