Just beat the first three races in the first tournament, only complaint is it’s a bit too easy! This is a very technologically impressive game for 1999. I’m playing the Nintendo Switch Aspyr port that came with the Heritage pack, though back at my parent’s house I’m pretty sure my dad has an original Nintendo 64 copy (and a working N64 to play it on)!

I personally feel bad for any Star Wars fans that has never read, The Darth Plagueis novel, Labrythn of Evil or any of the "proper" prequels era content. The depth of the politics, the depictions of the Jedi order under the shroud of the sith. The characterizations of everyone is far far superior. Not to mention, that is where the only substantial content explaining the intricate politics and plot lines of the Clone Wars - the separatists, the laws that allowed Palpatine to rise to power are from. After reading Plagues, Cloak of Deception, Maul Endgame, The novelizations of phantom menace attack of the clones labryth of evil - shatter point - dark rendevous, and the ROTS novelization - dark lord - Kenobi. Can say that I deeply understand the story the lore deeper than most Star Wars fans. This is true high fantasy / science fiction. Same goes for the comics of this era - detailing the intricacies of Palpatine's plot etc. The characterization of maul etc. It's all brilliant. Not to mention James Luceno - writing rogue ones catalyst - serving as a plagueis style political thriller leading into Rogue One. These books serve as the backbone of the prequels and its actual story. I strongly strongly recommend for anyone who considers themselves a true starwars fan. To put down the flanderizations of these characters, the tropes, and to read the true story. - TRUST ME. This reading order will change your entire perspective of Star Wars. I never thought I would think that the novelizations are the only way to consume the prequels properly but it's true. These books told the story with character development and proper pacing - something the movies blazed through. When you read them in this order you realize how it's one continuous story meant to be consumed this way. ROTS would have benefited greatly from Labryth and Phantom Menace from Plagueis reframing it as the finale to that book and establishing the lore of the chosen one before introducing Anakin.
For anyone attempting this reading order: you can skip cloak of deception without diluting (in my opinion)

I just rewatched the battle and, after all these years, am still surprised at how stupid the Emperor’s “best troops” acted while fighting on Endor.
So, they start out on top, with the rebels all being held hostage at gunpoint. They have the advantage.
Then the Ewoks appear and ambush them and all hell breaks loose. The rebels are kicking and flipping stormtroopers to the ground, everyone’s running in all directions, and nobody’s in command. Worse, the stormtroopers, rather than try and secure their hostages, instead decide to blindly chase the Ewoks back into the forest.
Why this stupid tactic? You’re rushing into territory you don’t know, against an enemy you can’t even see.
I know the Empire has to lose, but why make them act like idiots?

Don’t get me wrong. I love this fight. I love the drama, the action, the music.
I just have always wondered why Vader was fighting so badly after Luke gave into his anger on the second Death Star.
During their fight on Cloud City, Vader effortlessly dominated the fight. On the Death Star, the two were more on equal footing (for the most part), but Vader still gave him a fight. However, once Luke gives into his anger and attacks out of rage, Vader rather instantly gets forced onto the defense and doesn’t try to take back control. He just keeps backing up and rather weakly swings his saber at Luke.
I know Vader had to lose, but is there an in-universe, explanation for why his swordsmanship suddenly turned so poor?

Generally curious: if you all had to place blame for Order 66 on people outside the obvious, who would your top 5 be?
Obviously, bad people do bad things, so the answer to who is most clearly at fault is people like Sidious, Plagueis, Dooku, and Anakin, but I'm more curious about perspectives outside of the obvious.
People like the Kalminoans, Sifo-Dyas, Members of the Jedi High Council, etc.

So I work in a family practice clinic. And we do a pumpkin decorating contest. And when I tell you this people take this contest pretty seriously. I didn't realize how seriously they took it. They said "hey you should remember to bring a pumpkin for the decorating contest!". And I thought oh i'll just carve out something, so I did. But that next morning I left and forgot the pumpkin at home. And when I got there. Holy crap I was glad I forgot that pumpkin! Bc these fools go hard! And I said that day that next year......I was taking it seriously. I thought about this on my own but I googled it and found a few others that had done it. But I felt like I could do it a little better. I do wish the pumpkin had been slightly bigger. The wings are to scale but I'm sure the cockpit is a little bit small. But all in all I don't think it came out bad. I don't think i'm gonna win bc there are a few spots that didn't come out right and i'm out of time to really fix it. I had a pretty bad setback yesterday and basically had to start over today. But I'm pleased with it, glad I did it. Thought I'd share.
If anyone wants to see what some of their pumpkins looked like last year. I'll put some pics in the comments

When I first saw it in the theater, I thought they were just another alien species to move the plot along, but they're really kinda funny, and they're Grogu-sized so he can have some friends and go on a rescue mission.
We also learn the Star Wars universe curse word, Dank Farrik.

I'm trying to write an appearance description of the Sith Troopers led by Darth Malak and Darth Revan, but for the life of me, I can't figure out where in-game or in the second game, the Sith Elite Gunners appear.
Wookieepedia doesn't say where they appear, and I don't feel like scouring the walkthroughs to see where they appear either.
May I ask where I can encounter the Sith Elite Gunners in-game, either in Knights of the Old Republic or in II: The Sith Lords?
Because Wookieepedia said they wore "copper colored battle-suits" and are often armed with disruptor rifles which can penetrate personal shields. It wouldn't have said that if they didn't appear somewhere in-game.
BTW, what color is the Sith Grenadiers and Sith Wranglers armor? Just asking. Thanks.

Konstantine: "It's not your fault...but Lord Vader won't know that."
Needa: "I shall assume all responsibility and apologize to Lord Vader."

I don’t even think he would make it to 70 ngl. That suit was barely keeping him alive. And honestly I think he just lost years off his life with those injuries. I’d give him 20 years at the very best. It’s honestly impressive he made it to 45. I don’t think most people would have.

I’m also curious why so many Niman users died during Geonosis it can’t just be because the blaster fire coming from all the droids made the form inefficient.

I have edited who I would choose to be a good voice actor for ultron. If the audio sounds a bit off in some clips, it is because across the two shows he is in, the computer effects on his voice changed.
General Kalani was a separatist super tactical droid which served during the clone wars. Upon being issued a shutdown command, he rejected it assuming it was a republic trick, thus surviving into the galactic civil war. I think his voice would fit perfectly for Ultron.
His voice actor is Gregg Berger, who is also the voice of Grimlock in the original transformers.

Reading through some back issue comics I grabbed recently and this back page ad struck me. Did we know Special Editions were coming back then? "The original one last time" gets kinda foreboding when you think about it too long.

I just rewatched The Last Jedi and this is my first rewatch since it released. I felt it was time to give it a second chance. I was surprised.
First of all, the space battles in this are great. I also rewatched Empire recently and I think that this film really does a great job of recreating the anxiety of the asteroid field scenes in a new way. I was locked for that bomber scene.
I also think that the way Luke was handled while very much a subversion of expectation was really cool. Yeah, it kind of undermines the knowledge and wisdom you’d expect he’d have gained from all of his history (on screen and implied). But it does do a great job of conveying the real world experience of failure. I especially liked the part where Yoda spells this out to Luke. It feels like a Dagobah lesson that Luke missed.
I also liked Luke’s interpretation of the Jedi Order as I think it ties really well into the plot of the prequels and strongly reflects his character. He’s a Jedi that only knew the Jedi Order after it fell apart. He knows that happened and blames their ignorance for it.
He also points out that the “force” exists with or without the Jedi (and Sith) which I think is a commentary on how real world religions have historically neglected reality and spirituality in favour of dogma. This stance makes sense for Luke as he mostly learned the way of the force independently and was never indoctrinated the same way you’d expect Republic Era Jedi were.
One thing that I recall disliking about TLJ was the amount of comedic relief. Rewatching, I don’t think it’s that bad and honestly feels about the right level for Star Wars. That said there are definitely some moments that feel a little more silly than the original saga.
There are a couple things that I still have gripes with. First, the opening pan into the upcoming battle feels rushed. I was expecting a ROTS Coruscant type space battle intro. Just as the shot approaches the ship it cuts to a different shot from the planet surface. That said, the sfx and vision of the star destroyers entering the system from light speed is dope.
The Rose/Finn plot is fine until Rose saves Finn from his Holdo type stunt. Why would you set up for Finn to attempt a bold heroic gesture just to completely shut it down and direct attention to a (what comes kind of out of the blue) romantic plot line. The high stakes are immediately ripped away from the dire situation the resistance is in.
Ultimately I feel like the film stands pretty well on its own. It will be interesting to rewatch TFA. From memory part TLJ doesn’t follow through on much from that.
Does anyone else like how they did Luke? I feel like my take is probably not the most popular, but I honestly enjoyed how he was treated here.

For me, any of the Andor monologues, Obi-Wan's scenes on Kamino discovering the clone army, and Leia and Han's interactions at Echo Base in ESB.
