I recently learned that the rumors of last spring were true. Mayor Caroline Simmons pulled her kids out of Stamford Public Schools and enrolled them in Greenwich Country Day, a school that costs over $50k a year.

What does this say when our own Mayor pulls her kids out of our public schools? They were in a magnet school (Rogers) that pulled partially from Shippan, one of Stamford’s wealthiest neighborhoods. Was the problem that poor kids also attended?

The last several Mayors had their kids in Stamford Public Schools, and not just for a short stint either. David Martin, Mike Pavia, and Dan Malloy all had their kids in SPS for years. I can’t help but think that having her one son at SPS for K & 1 was nothing more than a political move to guarantee her re-election in 2025. It also doesn’t send the best message to parents wondering whether they should put their kids in SPS or not.

I have very straight and fine hair, mostly get haircuts with scissor work. Due to my white dude hair, any mistake shows tenfold. Best barber or salon in Stamford to go to?

Any local events happening then? Have a friend visiting and haven’t seen anything online yet about goings-on.
