Discussion Was the 9/11 memorial going to be in Spider-Man 1?
So we all know the world trade center was originaly meant to be included in Spider-Man 1, but would they have put in the memorial?

But I'll admit the NG+ run of SM2 I did it after being already burned out. Swinging around blindly looking for spider-drones really took the wind from under my webwings. Let alone the fact that SM2 had A LOT of bugs, mostly graphical, while the first two games were way better optimized, and I can only recall one spawn bug on SM1 and two visual glitched on SMMM. Meanwhile every other cutscene had a bug, a loading error or a visual glitch.
That's most of the negatives out of the way first.
Overal the whole series gets an 8.5/10. Fantastic games, and if it wasn't for the technical issues, the last one would be the best, but it was way too distracting.
Gameplaywise each improved on the last one, making SM1 the "worst" by default.
In the realm of collectibles and completion SM2 is the worst and that's not even close due to 2 key elements: Objectives that don't show in the map (like the spider-bots), having to physically uncover the map by swining across it and needing to unlock fast travel. ESPECIALY the last thing. I'd have been ok if that was in the first game since it was just manhattan, let alone the fact that swinging was much more fun when it was new and innovative, plus the activities were plenty, but adding Astoria and other areas across the many bridges of Manhattan made the map a bit too big; an issue that would have been massively mitigated by making fast travel unlocked by default, or by story progression like the first two games.
The hardest thing I've done in these games however, was completing SM1 in the highest difficulty, it was a level of challenge I welcomed and enjoyed, but I'll admit I wouldn't have tapped into it without an achievement telling me to do so... that's why I didn't do it for the other two games.
Also, two last things against SM2: Symbiote enemies. My god those things were TOO TANKY! And unlike any other enemy in the game, you can't jump-yank-punch-yank-punch with stacked up damage bonuses for being airborn, because they pull themselves back down, and Is wear half the time they don't get stuck to walls when you web them. And secondly, why change the gadget system? The gadget selection wheel was perfectly fine, but in this game you had to press a different key to access them with 1-4, a system that works if you do it for one thing (Special attacks) but not for two since the input was completley diferent. Space, F, Click and Mouse Wheel vs 1 2 3 4. Often I found myself wanting to do the sound granade and accidentally do Special+3 which meant I wasted the symbiote surge or venom explosion. Either make one modifier with 8 inputs, or 2 modifiers with the same 4 inputs.... or better yet, 1 modifier with 4 inputs and a gadget wheel.
Anyways, enough rambling, awesome games, wonderful experience, now to wait for the fourth game.

Imagine a playable dock ock segment like venom
There is barely any media of Dock Ock dealing with multiple armed police or swat soldiers that actually fire at him.Imagine playing as dock ock managing ur arms to dodge and deflect bullets against swat and wreaking havoc on them, where ur health bar would decrease when fire power is overwhelming the narrow clunky arms so u would need to make good use of objects like concrete, cars etc. as shields and projectiles to stop this and take good tactical positions near civilians and disarm police here and use hostages to maneuver and escape using skilled arm management.Obviously when Dock Ock has a hostage the police can’t shoot so they would use secret flash bangs which would make u drop a person in an arm which makes u loose ur hostage every minute or do,prob dealing with sniper shot quick reactions too and go back to defending and attacking the police and slowly progress until u escape with whatever goal or yk

Added loose web when web shooting/swinging to make it like the actual Spider-Man games.
Also I fixed the broken shadows on the buildings

In Spider-Man 2 we got web wings, iron spider legs, and new blue electricity. What new abilities would you want for Spiderman 3?

The Batman Arkham series ended over 10 years ago, and we have yet to see another proper Batman game from any other studio. Do you think something similar will happen with Spidey?
Will Insomniac keep making spin off games after SM3? Or will it just be a long time before we see a new spider-man game?

I have a lot of problems with both spider-man games because I've played lots of spidey games before and only really like insomniac's miles game as it's new and innovative to me. I know people will just say it's a game but here me out because just because it's a game doesn't mean they can just add anything like spider-man flying tunnels etc.
I think they were kind of trying to do like a batman grapple but the way he can just do it in any direction in a straight line does not make sense or look good and doesn't even feel like something spider-man would do and even at that over and over again. In miles it looks better because of the animation where he moves his hands but they didn't do anything like that for Peter in spider-man 2.
I know people will say it's not a big thing but I kind of think it is because it's one of the main part of the traversal and I think they did it for casuals and substitute for having to make better mechanics and swinging.

I lean on the former. I know I’ve seen it as a criticism, but if you don’t like it, just swing away. They can make for great photo mode shots too.

I'm using a Switch 2 Pro controller with steam input, anyone else had this issue or know a fix?
Weirdly Miles Morales had the same issue but with the sticks instead, it would just display a question mark. Spider-Man 2 doesn't show any icons for the triggers at all though, which has tripped me up a couple of times when the tutorials don't show the correct button prompts
