My rewrite to make jackal the main villain basically.
I like brand new day. I even like the peter jean ship based on tom and sadies chemistry alone but I think jean in the movie is far too villainous despite all that. I do think the appeal of the ship being based on jean being a little bit antagonistic towards people but you can still have jean be antagonistic without having her heba terrorist.
In my version of the movie I would keep the plot and outline more or less the same but with 2 changes. Have DODC be run by a spiderman villain and do not have jean causes direct terrorism. You can still have her do some of the mind hopping stuff, without some of the really egrigious stuff she does (like the guy walking into traftic). I would also have it to where DODC through their actions in attempting to kidnap her. They are the ones causing the destruction via collateral damage. This would do a great job continuing the theme of them being dangerous like they were in previous movies and getting us to root against them.
I would also have DODC be run by Miles Warren who can still be played by tramell tillman. This makes a lot of sense because this is a movie all about mutations and which iconic spiderman villain is about that very subject? Jackal. This would be the perfect movie to introduce him in. Also, it's such a waste of Tillman's talent to have him play such a worthless D list villain no one knows or cares about. He would Fucking kill it as jackal. I'd introduce him as just Miles Warren here. He is the head of DODC that also does adjunct professor work at Empire state. You can even establish his rivalry with banner given he's in the movie and at the very end set him to go full jackal in a future movie.
Guys with hornet and spiderman being a popular crossover between the two medias what character from hollow knight or silksong that could be fit for a crossover with Jean. Jean would definitely want to have her own crossover with a character from hollow knight after seeing Peter having an interaction with hornet.
Guys I don't know if you would like this idea but I would love to see Jean be a fan of Michael Jackson like listening to his song or learning to do his moves like the Moonwalk or the Anti-Gravity lean maybe to show it to Peter to impress him.
Right, so since my spiral 2 days ago, I’ve managed to conjure up several fantasies, which are basically centered on post BND, Doomsday, and then secret wars.
There’s a lot of noise in my head, so I appreciate this may sound incoherent rambling, but thank God for Reddit where I can vent.
So here goes,
Peter has recovered from the gunshot wound and is back to being the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman. Jean has gone to Xavier and is now settling down at his school, trying to bond with the other future X-Men.
They haven’t tried to get in touch with each other. Peter, because DoDC is keeping tabs on him and they’re after Jean. But also because he knows what’ll happen if he gets close to her. Just like everyone else he’s been close to.
(But he does obsessively keep looking at that picture of Jean from when he first saw her in that car in BND)
Jean also keeps tabs on him, thru social media and the news. But she’s afraid to reach out to him, out of guilt about everything that’s happened. So she’s throwing all of herself in training.
There is this psychic connection between them which always makes them aware of each other. But they haven’t reached out to each other (I haven’t figured out the reason for that yet)
Peter finds the symbiote and keeps it for reasearch, and it slowly starts to take over him (basically the plot of Spiderman-3).
He sees Jean and Scott together somewhere and that makes him believe Jean is happy and doesn’t need him, which makes him more vulnerable to the symbiote and then he gets the black suit and becomes more ruthless to the criminals. Crime rates drop to zero because even the petty thieves fear him now (Batman?)
Jean sees this development on TV and goes to New York to meet him but sees him with some woman (Gwen maybe?) and gets jealous and angry (mostly at herself for not reaching out). The psychic connection is still there, but still no communication.
Then Doomsday happens. Peter gets kidnapped by Doom and the psychic connection disappears.
The TVA comes to Jean and tells her that Peter is actually the anchor being for Earth-616, which has now started to decay, and an incursion is incoming.
Jean and the X-Men, along with a ragtag group of other heroes (Peter 2 & 3 too maybe?), go to Battleworld to rescue Peter
There they find that Doom has organised gladiator-esque matches between all the kidnapped heroes to build himself an army.
They stay undercover and continue to observe the matches, hoping to find Peter. They don’t.
In their search, they are led to Doom’s castle, where Peter is being held captive.
Doom reveals that he has been waiting for them and introduces them to his Champion, and “The face of their doom”.
Out comes a black figure, with a White spider on the chest, and large unmoving white lenses. The mask slithers off, it’s a bearded, long-haired Peter Parker, fully under the influence of Venom, with an evil smirk on his face as he looks down at them all from beside Doom’s throne and just says one thing:
“You guys ready to die then?”

As I said, it’s not perfect. My comic book knowledge is limited, so I’m just going by what I know.
But feel free to add or change to what you think could be a better story.
I may have forgotten a few things, so I’ll probably edit this post a few times.
Yall... I'm starting to see the appeal of these two. What's not to like? They're both clones of Peter and Jean, so naturally they have to fall in love right????
The angst potential and redemption these two can have with each other, oooooooohhhhhhh I need someone to recommend a fic of them
And duh, it's reasonable to assume that if she hasn't seen Sara for months or years, but it's a widespread belief that she tries so hard to find out what V-max is because she thinks her sister is still alive. I believed it too, but now I have doubts because Jean could just read the DoDC agents' minds and find out that Sara is truly dead.
Either way, I think she already grieved Sara's death or passed through the stages, but still wants to believe she's alive the way we believe PeterJean will be canon.
So, why not just read those agents' minds to know that Spider-man is innocent? Because I think she assumed that there are only certain things one is allowed to know based on what your position is in the DoDC, and Spider-man's loyalty might be kept in the dark from the rest for them to always stay alert and never assume someone as dangerous as him is fully loyal or an enemy, they can't act too distrustful but should also be careful. This is why I think she did read the minds of agents and found out they don't know what V-max is, but didn't stop there.
All this could be solved by reading Metzger's mind, right? Not quite because DoDC has many facilities, so to protect Metzger, he likely isn't consistently staying in only one. I assume the same is true for people who have positions as close in importance to his.
So, shouldn't Sara's death also be classified? No, because why would it be? They'd need to tell everyone this information because they'd have to find themselves another telepath after killing the only one they have.
Back to Jean possibly knowing Sara is dead, the biggest thing supporting the idea that Jean already knows is this line of hers:
You know, some people would kill to hold the person they loved one last time.
Why would she say this as if she's gone for good? It's probably been gosh awful long since she saw Sara, but why did she say it as if the last and only time she could've held her alive and well is when she's with her at the park instead of a future when she gets her again? Again, because she already knew or highly suspected. She still badly wants her to be alive, so she tried super hard with V-max.
The outburst that happened from finding out the truth about V-max is because she learned how her sister exactly died, digging deeper into a wound that refuses to heal. It probably gave her memories on the order of events that took place after Sara was captured because it happened to her, too, and she understandably got furious from it. The boost in power, though, has to have something to do with the device DoDC used on the telepath sisters because the only way for Sara to have sent a message from her dying breath at that moment is through getting her powers boosted like Jean.
Peter and MJ finally talk about their past, and settle their forgotten feelings, Peter wrestles with taking a step back from being a superhero and Xavier reveals his strange obsession with Jean, leading to Logan, Scott and Hank being forced into reaction.

Im curious, since this community started popping up in my notifications at some point after the Brand New Day movie. Im aware that movie deserves credit for increasing intrest in this ship, but I want to know to what degree it did.
Is it PURELY a ship for the modern movies? Because you like a couple of scenes with chemistry between the two actors and Peter just needs a real red head in every universe, it feels right. But as soon as the day comes we get a new marvel canon to take intrest in, be it video games, cartoons, or if were lucky movies and television.... youd rather Jean and Spiderman be set up with other characters their traditionally shipped with in comics. Wolverine and Cyclops for Jean, Mary Jane and Black Cat for Peter. Or even other characters, just not with each other.
Or are you like crazy sold of Spider-Pheonix for every canon. Like if you could go backwards in time and sales pitch Stan Lee on this when he was writing the original Spiderman and X-Men comics, you would have him canonize this ship in the foundation of the comics themselves if possible. You love the core concepts of these characters complimenting each other so much, you think it works with every version of the characters and is the best for every version of the characters over their usual love triangle drama you don't care for? Sink and Holland just opened your mind to the concept, but their versions of the character are not required to like this ship to you?
Or are you somewhere in between those extremes? You ship them in general, not just the MCU, you want more of them as a concept being played out to their fullest potential. But you still favor having a standard long running canon try setting them up with other characters. Like even in the context of wanting Spiderman to have a relationship that connects him to the X-Men im not sure i would choose to hook him up with Jean over Firestar or Shadowcat IF we were planning out connection and ship with a mutant from the beginning. Spider Phoenix is a cool idea, and a nice self insert power fantasy with Enigma Force Spiderman marrying Phoenix Force Jean Grey and becoming an incredible power couple in the Marvel universe..... but its far from the only ship you wanna see the two given or even far from being the default ship youd prefer them in most of the time.
Im in the 3rd group..... i really have low investment in the current movies canon and versions of most of their Marvel characters. But even so I do like the idea of Spiderman and Jean. Not more than other ships but enough id want to see more of it.

Ship them only in the MCU with Sadie Sink and Tom Holland.
Ship them in any canon, comics, games, cartoons, they just work.
Ship them in only SOME other canons. I want to see this ship played out more but not all the time in every reboot.
With the loss of my old account, I lost all the Tom suits, but since I just finished Raimi 1, I thought why not ask if she'd wear Tobey's costumes. Hell, she wore a balaclava herself in the scenes inside Peter's apartment so this might be up her alley.....
After everything, Jean makes one final deeply personal decision.
She decides to leave the Proff. Xavier mansion ( not X-men ) .
She speaks with Cyclops who was now leader of current X men team and tells him.
JEAN : “Whenever your team needs me, I'll be there. I'm not abandoning the X-Men. But right now, I want to live my life with Peter.”
Cyclops understands and agrees with her.
Jean moves to New York and begins living with Peter. She is still an X-Men, and if the team needs her, she will always return.
Along with that, she has chosen to build a life with Peter, the man she loves.
• Final Epilogue —
After living together for around five months, Peter and Jean are walking together in a park.

Peter suddenly stops, looking at Jean .
PETER :( with a playful smirk )“I think you need to practice.”
JEAN :(raises an eyebrow, confused.)“Practice what?”
Then, realization hits her. A warm smile spreads across her face.
Jean creates some distance between them. She leans down onto the grass and grab four or five flowers with her bare hands.(Keep in mind she can use her telekinesis but she is not using it .)
She begins slowly walking toward Peter.
The camera tracks her from behind Jean back.
She keeps walking.
The screen cuts to black.
Then—
The next scene is Jean was in wedding dress walking toward Peter with flower bouquet and Peter was also in wedding suit.
That's actually their wedding practise !!!! Peter and Jean are finally getting married.( 😭😭😭 )
The Avengers are there. The X-Men are there. Everyone who has been part of their journey is there to celebrate with them.
They stand before each other at the wedding arch.
Peter takes Jean's left hand, his fingers trembling a little with joy, and slides a simple gold ring onto her finger.
Jean smiles softly. Looking straight into his eyes, she takes Peter’s hand and slides his wedding ring into his fingers.
They don't need any more words.
They share their first kiss as husband and wife—a sweet, quiet kiss that seals decades of pain into a lifetime of peace.
*The entire room erupts into cheers and applause.
The Avengers and the X-Men decide to give them a wedding gift: A Nice Apartment and A New Car.
Peter tries to refuse, but Jean stops him.
JEAN : “This is the first time they are truly acknowledging you, Peter. You should accept it.”
Hearing her words, Peter smiles and finally accepts and says thanks to everyone.
They begin their married life together.
Peter has finally found peace. Jean has finally found control and acceptance of the Phoenix. And Peter Parker and Jean Grey finally get to simply live as themselves.
JEAN (calling out from kitchen) : " Peter , wake up! You have to take our son to school! "
( Peter groans, trying to burying his face into the pillows. )
JEAN : " Peter!!!! I'm not asking a second time! "
PETER : " I already woke up ! "
Peter instantly wakes up alongside he also picking up his son from bed. Within 30 minutes, he has him dressed and ready.
Jean is standing by the counter, packing a fresh lunchbox. She kneels down to eye level with her son , gently sliding the lunchbox into his small backpack and zipping it shut.
JEAN(smiling warmly): Now listen to me. Be a good boy today. No mischief, no running through the halls, and no causing any trouble, okay?
He nods happily.
Jean leans in and presses a sweet kiss against his forehead.
JEAN : " Go have fun, sweetie!!! "
Peter walks outside, starts the car, and drives his son to his first day of class.
A little while later, Peter returns home, letting himself into the apartment. In the bedroom, Jean is sitting comfortably on the mattress, gently cradling their five-month-old baby daughter in her arms.
Peter walks over and sits beside her.
PETER : "You know, Jean... at drop-off today, almost every kid was crying. But not our boy. He just walked right inside with a smile. He’s strong like you."
Jean smiles warmly .
PETER : “And look at our daughter . Her eyes, her hair, her little smile... she looks just like you.”
JEAN : " But she has nature of yours, Peter. I can feel it. "( Jean's eyes glow white. )
Peter smiles with tears in his eyes—Tears of True Happiness !!!
Jean reaches out, wraps her arms around him, and holds him close in the warm, quiet sunlight of their home....
