Regarding AI generated content on r/SpaceCannibalism
Please keep in mind r/SpaceCannibalism is, essentially, the shitpost subreddit. It's for the memes, the low-effort content, the 'this reminds me of RimWorld' nonsense.
There is not a rule against AI-generated content here, and there will not be one put in place. If anything, 'low-effort nonsense' describes AI-generated content quite well.
We do still enforce rules 1 and 2.
Maintain an atmosphere of respect.
No NSFW.
If you do not like the content of a post, please just click away and don't engage. Your opinions do not give you permission to be rude or abusive. The content is already posted. You looking at it for two seconds changes nothing.
The content may be AI-generated, but the person posting it is as human as you are. Please remember that.

An atmosphere of respect cannot exist if you permit ai content, as generated content is inherently disrespectful

You're on Reddit, people here consider themselves better for every reason, including not using AI, and they'll let you know that if you're not as rabid as they are, you must be stupid. For peoof, see the other replies.

If somebody posts something they made then we should be nice. If somebody posts ai slop they didn't make, I don't see why their feelings should be hurt.
Posting ai slop and permitting/defending the posting of ai slop seems to me to be absolutely at odds with rule 1. This sub is dead.

fr, this sub is run by the same people that runs the main sub as far as I understand, maybe we do need a rimworld sub run by someone else than they.

we will need an unofficial rimworld subreddit soon as the main sub and this one lets ai run rampant and any comment going against ai like mine was gets deleted, wouldnt be surprised if it will happen here, Tynan is a mod in both so these are both official subs so i assume he endorses ai

shitposting is fundamentally low effort, a screenshot of a video game takes less effort than creating an AI image, at least with the Ai you've got to compose the prompt, it's expressive. The seagulls chanting slop slop slop are contributing nothing but anger.

Botting is a very real thing, and with AI agents carma farming can be done as smooth as never before.
I would not be so sure about that.
Besides, we're in times when what everybody wants is more real stuff made by real people, some crazy people up there in silicon valley are trying to build real world archotechs, and chances are they will destroy the world if they succeed, Seeing slop makes what should be an escape of the awful reality we're stuck in, into but another reminder on how the world is going to shit.
