I know, I know, it's nothing in the grand scheme and it isn't some, "The algo miraculously discovered me and now I have a video with 50k views!"
But I'm 16 videos deep and truly it means everything to me and that single comment fully refilled my tank for it all. Not that I was running on fumes or anything I know I've barely scratched the surface of what's required out here in these trenches.
For my channel I only started it as a means of telling stories I already found super interesting but didn't find well served so it wasn't messing with me too much to have low viewership and what not, thankfully.
That said, I've been trying to create a lot of content and really grinding it trying to slowly work on my setup and the technical stuff and that's definitely been a bit draining (especially editing, god I hate editing) but this has refreshed me for sure
Glad that first comment wasn't some shitty troll comment hahaha. A little kindness definitely goes a longgggg way.
I feel like early on thus far I started out assuming I'm not crazy, I love these stories, others have to feel the same in this huge world of YouTube viewers but it starts making you wonder if you're an idiot after a bit with no comments at all or engagement LOL
Anyways, I lurk through you guys' posts all the time and I'm just psyched to be a part of it all
I am so burned out but the only thing keeping me going is i know what it’s like when your favorite YouTuber just stops posting and quits. I am at least one persons favorite YouTuber, I gotta hold myself to a standard and improve for them. I know it sounds corny but this is the only thing keeping me going.
The title would be
TRAVEL DANCER VLOG ✈️
Spooky Season in NOLA, Auditions, GRWM, Exploring
I understand the first may look busy, but this is the style that’s popular in the stripper niche
The second is more clean yes, but it’s more the travel niche
I added some Halloween elements because I’m in New Orleans during Halloween time. The gist of the video is me traveling to and working in New Orleans for the month of October as a dancer
The last slide is just a color variation
So I've tried youtube several times throughout the years, always ended up giving up for one reason or another. About a year ago I tried again with a gaming channel, it wasn't working but instead of giving up this time, i took a step back and rethought out my entire approach. I knew i wanted to do variety gaming still, but I also knew i had to change up the whole package. I stepped back, took time to practice some editing and work with photoshop like programs to get better at making thumbnails which was a real weak point previously.
Once I felt like I had a plan, I private all my old videos and started fresh. The channel is still small, only 43 subs at the moment, but I've posted 3 long form videos and I'm seeing the difference the new approach has made.
Numbers so far:
-Old channel: 13 videos, 635 views total. Lifetime. My best one ever got 176.
-New: 3 videos, 1,172 views. 555, 334, and 283 (that one’s only a day old).
-Every new video has beaten my old best.
-First one is 30 min long and people are watching about 45% of it on average.
(including analytics screenshot for the first video since people always ask for some)
Currently sitting at 100 hours watch time and 5 subs gained since the reboot, there's still things I can do better for sure, CTR is still weaker than i'd like it sitting at about a 2% CTR so there is still room for improvement there. But overall I think stepping back and actually rethinking my approach is going to make for a healthier channel long term than what i was doing before which is just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping something sticks.
Has anyone else done a full reset on a channel? Granted mine wasn't "established" yet, but still. Did you private all your old vids or leave them up? Curious if anyone regretted doing it?
Hey everyone, I first posted on here almost 3 months ago about me starting my channel, and it’s good to see That I now have 81 subscribers and have almost 90k viewers across all content (livestreams, shorts and longform videos) I make Skyrim content and my videos are definitely improving in quality, and my thumbnails which I make using Microsoft PowerPoint, screenshotting and photo editing with ingame footage and post recording shots!
I also make my own music for my videos as I’m also a musician!
If you’re into Skyrim content check out my channel TheGamingGuitarist99 and all other socials, there are links on my Reddit bio! 😊🎮
I could really use some advice from other creators.
I started my channel mainly making mobile gaming content, especially guides. In the beginning I genuinely enjoyed it, and it helped me build my channel and audience.
Lately though, I’ve been struggling with motivation. I’ve already covered most of the important evergreen guides for the games I play, and I’m starting to feel like I’m forcing myself to make content just because that’s what my audience currently expects.
What I actually want to do long term is move more towards PC/AAA games.
The problem is that whenever I test something outside my normal niche — Palworld for example — the video gets absolutely butchered compared to my usual mobile gaming content. Low impressions, low views, and it feels like YouTube has no idea who to show it to.
I understand that my existing audience subscribed for mobile gaming, so I can’t expect them to suddenly care about completely different games. But I also don’t want to spend the next few years making content I’m slowly losing interest in just because that’s what currently performs.
For creators who have successfully changed games or niches:
Would you slowly introduce AAA content on the existing channel, create a completely separate channel for it, or accept the bad performance for a while and keep pushing until YouTube finds the new audience?
I’m not expecting an easy transition. I’m mainly trying to figure out the smartest way to do it without destroying what I’ve already built.
Would love to hear from people who have actually gone through something similar.
I’ve been making videos for a while now but I’ve only locked in the past month been posting videos almost every week and I don’t get why I’m not seeing any change I genuinely want to do this for a career and need advice on how to improve and/or where to improve to see growth whether it be in my editing, gameplay, or video ideas I just need advice on what to change in general if I had to be specific it would be if the overall videos are interesting and if you genuinely find yourself entertained If you have the time please review as many videos and you can on my channel and tell me what is the issue and thank you
My channel name is Cajabaju just with a plain pfp
My channel got demonetized due to me not posting a video for however many months, I just got it remonetized but none of the videos have the option to turn on monetization, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about how to do that. My Adsense account is still up and still connected to my channel. The only hint I can find on my earn page is a sidebar thing that says “after you meet eligibility; we’ll check if your channel follows youtube’s monetization policies. if everything looks good, you’re in” which I don’t really get what that means. On my channel content page, all my videos say ‘ads off’ under the est. revenue section and when I hit ‘manage ways to earn’ the page the comes up is blank. Any advice would be appreciated 🫡
I make food content and really emphasize the learning process in my long form videos. A lot of them are doing well! But I fall short in shorts (LOL)...
So tell me!!!
What are the secret to YouTube shorts? Hashtags? Tags? Description? Any tips?
What would you want to see? I tried voice overs and it flopped, the only videos that are doing good are the shorts about meat, but I haven't cracked the code. Please help! 🫂
i'm aware this is a quality problem to have and i'm not flexing (at least not consciously), but it's stressing the crap out of me. i haven't uploaded because i got trapped in a long edit and because life has been extremely annoying. sigh. i'm sad. i wish i had more time to work on my videos. :c
Just curious how ever configures their lighting.
My primary face cam for videos is just my Logitech C920, but I’m thinking of upgrading to something better as it’s difficult to achieve the lighting quality I’m seeking.
I’ve used my iPhone in cinematic mode for some shoots and I’m happy with the quality but file sizes are massive and transferring the files is a bit more of a P.I.T.A than I want it to be.
Hi, I'm a wedding videographer and I post clips for clients on my channel. I thought I'd record one from a POV perspective and show the world how I do it. Unfortunately, it has so few views that the work didn't pay off at all.
I also thought that maybe I should upload something like this to a new channel so that the video and the next one (maybe) even gets a chance?
I still have hope and I enjoy filming, I believe I will continue to do so. I wish the rest of you all the best 😇
Hey guys, this is the first time I made a long form video, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong with the thumbnail. I just started the channel, posted around 10 shorts and wanted to try out long form. The channel is about gaming (Clash Royale) and the video is about surviving midladder with low-level cards
Should I change the elements, the angle, the background, or the text?
I’ve been doing YouTube since I was 13 but it was mostly just me messing around. I’ve been taking it seriously since last year and I’m at 2,300 watch hours for the year. I recently found out that YouTube is doubling the watch hour requirements to get monetized. I get that I should be doing YouTube for fun but I can’t help but feel paranoid that I’ll never reach the requirements. 8k seems impossible
