I'd never do this to mine. They're scared of bugs. Can only imagine what this would do to them.

Do you know what it's like to have an 18yo son who freaks out over a roach? When I was his age, we'd catch bugs with our hands and throw them to the chickens.

Fr that is literally the purpose of doing minor things like this in a safe environment with your kid. Obviously attention-seeking by posting it, but the prank itself is completely normal.

Ehhh, lots of the kids were way too young for this kind of prank. I might agree if they were like 10+, not 5.

I don't even think most of them understood it was a prank. A 10-12+ child would have, and might have even laughed after the scare.
