Matter of fact, so is that black baby after him. Meanwhile, those two last children have crisis management skills you can't even find in 50 year old adults. The future is in good hands!
Right about the last two. 2nd to last sees the crisis but remains calm until she is safe to lose her shit. Last one will be a manager or ceo āeverything is burning down around me, but letās stay calm and grounded like nothing is happeningā either that or she is used to seeing ghosts lol.
That kid has 3 boogeyman corpses under his bed and there's a sign on the inside of his closet door in glow in the dark crayon that says "u r trappid in hir with me, doodyhead"Ā
And then mom was like: "Wtf are you doing?! You we're supposed to get shit scared, now we won't get our millions of views! You're grounded, no food for a week!" (this is how I see parents who do those things to their children and then post it online)
That's for sure. I'm surprised on how many parents I've met who don't give a shit about their child. Even more surprised how many look at their kid with dollar signs. There's no way I could look at my kid and think "man I can't wait to make money off of you."Ā
I Work in an Amusement Park. You wouldn't believe the stuff I See on a daily Basis. My favourite quote of myself: "please Refrain from yeeting your 3 year old Out of an MOVING Ride. Please wait untill it is parked."
When I was young maybe like 12 staying at my cousin's house we were watching the shining for the first time. My uncle set off a quarter stick of dynamite out back. Uncles are cool like that
Exploiting your kids for internet likes is bad enough, but you are putting your kids on the internet to go viral.
Kids are cruel, why give their classmates ammunition to bully them? Don't most responsibile parents want to keep videos of their kids offline?
Giving the kid nightmares can come back and bite you in the ass. Have fun waking up to a screaming kid at 3am.
Finally, jump scares are potentially dangerous. Kid freaks out and runs into the counter top or slips and hits their head. Yes unlikely, but parents are constantly telling kids to not run in the house. Bathroom is the worst place panic.
Yeah why are so many parents bullies? My partner has bully parents. They terrorized him growing up. Supposedly they love my partner but... My parents weren't great but at least they never bullied me.
...BUT! My parents got divorced, and my mom often got together with guys who were bullies to me. I think if you hate children you shouldn't have them, or be with someone who has them.
My parents were bullies too. And my mom was super abused so any time she went too far, she'd just tell us we were lucky she wasn't like her dad, she had it worse. Not as an apology, like she said it like we really should be grateful for the way she treated us because at least she didn't actually try to kill us like her dad did. That's a low bar mom.
I'm still traumatized by some halloween floor mat that made scary loud sounds when you stepped on it in some random store as a child (I hated stuff like that). I think I would lose some amount of trust of my parents as much if they pulled a mean prank like this on me. Definitely not something you can be a good sport about at that age.
Because traumatising and losing the trust of the person that believes in you the most in the World is worth the 2 laughing emojis you get on Facebook for the post.
I'd never do this to mine. They're scared of bugs. Can only imagine what this would do to them.
Do you know what it's like to have an 18yo son who freaks out over a roach? When I was his age, we'd catch bugs with our hands and throw them to the chickens.
I mean, everyone got something that freaks them out. I like to play with spiders but I will try to levitate and phase through a door if there's a cricket in the room with me. Fuck crickets.
My kid's scared of moths. I once heard another grown man say "they eat fabric, that's not that far from eating skin!".
I'm also ok with spiders and most bugs but one thing I hate is ladybugs. I know people love them but my god I don't want them anywhere near me. They freak me out.
Reason is, when I was a kid there was a massive ladybug infestation in my area and absolutely everything was covered in ladybugs. Railings, rocks, walls, doorknobs... they got inside our school and coated the cafeteria walls and ceiling by the windows. My classmate collected them in her hoodies pockets and sat next to me during class so they would just come crawling out from time to time. Everything stank of ladybug piss. Absolutely disgusting.
Might have actually been Asian Lady Beetles, can range from orangish to just off red, have a lot more spots, and always seem to clump together for warmth during the winter in homes and the like. They also bite on top of smelling bad when they get spooked.
I hate em. Your native Lady Bug is much less troublesome.
Oh damn, I didn't know that! I thought they were the same because native ladybugs here are (approximately) the same colour but seems like the spots are different. I found an old article from that time and they do specify its asian lady beetles. Good catch.
Fr that is literally the purpose of doing minor things like this in a safe environment with your kid. Obviously attention-seeking by posting it, but the prank itself is completely normal.
At least bugs have a way of keeping them out. If you're scared of ghost, it pretty much follows you for life anywhere any time. It's all fun to see the reactions for what, a few seconds? Then they have to deal with the kids waking them up in the middle of the night screaming or pay for therapy. No thanks.
I dunno man I feel like people are really overreacting here lol. I grew up on a family where scaring kids was considered normal and fun for everyone. I loved getting scared and still do. I mean obviously it sucks for like 5 seconds but once you realize youāre safe and fine itās a great laugh.
I mean this is no different to me than the car commercial jumpscare my dad showed me, and everyone elseās dadās showed them, back in the day.
I kinda think exposure to scary stuff toughens you up. You realize no harm came of it and you survived and you get a little braver for it.
Back in my day, it was the āwatch this carefullyā or the ātry and move your cursor through the mazeā just to have a jump scare with the exorcist face and a loud scream. It was mean spirited back then and it is now
My older brother did that one to me. Still mad about it. Itās been like 20 years but heās lucky he lives in a different state when I remember. lol.
Dang yāall were lucky then haha, my mom was the one that showed me one of the āwatch carefullyā ones. There was no camera at least though, so I guess I can be grateful for that
I remember it fondly when my Dad showed me one of those videos. Obviously I was scared at the time, but it's funny in hindsight. Get over yourself, it's not "mean-spirited," it's a lighthearted prank.
Back in my day period people sent funny clips of their kids to be broadcasted on Americas Funniest Home Videos. Back in my day people took their kids to haunted farms and houses to scare the shit out of them. I think we all survived.
Right so going to a haunted farm/house has a built in expectation that you were going somewhere scary to be scared. Not being lied to to be scared. Thats where the mean spirited-ness of it comes in
The problem is that some of those kids are what? 5-6? At best, one or two are more likely to ke... 4-5? That's not an age where they can appreciate this sort of type 2 fun.
If they find their parents laughing, who set that up, they won't laugh it off as "oooh I was stupid, haha"
They will mark it as mockery and abuse of trust more likely, because this is, at that age, a development they haven't done yet.
That is something you can do to...6-8 year old. At this point, the also start start understanding the concept of irony and sarcasm, so don't be sassy sarcastic to your 4 year old children, they don't understand that inherently.
I mean, I don't have any kids, but I don't think it's that bad of an idea, at base it's just a harmless prank. You can explain after that it's just an effect on the phone. But the recording jt for the internet aspect ruins it.
My uncle lived in the middle of nowhere, and the way we got out there was by driving through a creepy forest on dark, twisty roads. My dad liked to tell stories while we were driving of the Gasoline People. If your car ran out of gasoline on those back roads, they'd show up to help and if you got out of the car, they'd GET YOU!
One time, driving home in the night, he turned off the car, acted like it wouldn't turn on, and turned back to me. "Oh no. We're out of gas!" Stewed on that for about five minutes, claiming he saw things moving in the woods. Then he turned the car on, said loljk, and drove away.
Scaring kids is fun. And I think getting scared can be good for them. However, they need an avenue to safety. If my dad had gotten out of the car and disappeared into the woods, I don't think I would have taken it as well. The closed door here, especially when some kids can't seem to open it, is definitely too far. But just freaking a kid out in a limited, controlled way, that ain't nothing.
Exactly. My 2-year-old daughter told me yesterday that a statue at the park was scary, she clung to me and buried her face into my shoulder. I asked her if she wanted me to go and touch the statue to show her that it wasnāt ārealā. So I walked her over, showed her that I could touch it, and she said she was t scared anymore. Then she touched it and told the statue that it didnāt scare her.
Why would you set up a child to both lose confidence through fear and lose trust in a parent? I donāt understand this mentality at all. I want to raise confident, logical, and trusting children who will pass that same love out to others.
This trading trust for laughs by parents is ridiculous.
No worries, these kids will get their revenges when these parents get old. Literally shitting their beds when they get sent to elderly houses and get pranked by their kids.
These are the same parents that get annoyed when their kids are clingy and are afraid of the dark. When they come into their room with nightmares. When they don't want to go to sleep and ask for more bed time stories. Fear is a shitty emotion to feel at this age. Emotional growth happens when they feel safe and secure.
Eh, I think families pulled these pranks even back in the 90s. I remember I had this doll that was very reminiscent of the buddy dolls from Child's Play. That movie scared me so much as a kid, and my family somehow had strung my doll up in the basement like a puppet and put a knife in its hand and made him move around a little when I went into the basement one night and it scared the pants offa me.
I'm pretty sure I threw the doll out after that.
Mean prank? Sure. But I got over it and I laugh about it now.
Some videos start with āgoā and then the kid does some things they shouldnāt do like the šš» and it makes me think some these vids are punishment and there are the others like āI like my mommaā š¤Ø
I grew up in a family like this, bunch of pranksters and I did this to my kids! We laugh about all the stories. I now do my grandkids but this doesnāt scare them at allššš
Fucking lunacy. Not exactly the same but those daycare workers who scared their kids with masks got hit with child abuse charges and a bunch of other shit. These parents are fucking stupid.
Same people who pretend would ask their kids to bring them toilet paper and then smear shit on their child's hand to see their reaction... Way to bring that trauma in at an early age.
My mom loved scaring us. She would turn the lights out and send us into the dark and hide to jump out at us. She thought it was hilarious, but she would get mad if we cried. Some people should not have kids š¤·š»āāļø
Look, I'm a little bit on the schadenfreude side of this, it's kinda funny in a way, but if it were me? Not only would I not put my kids out there in general, but I would also not do things like this on or off camera.

Why would you do this to your own child?
