So, I’m old enough to remember CDs and how it got to the point where I’d spent so long paying $20 for a CD with 2 good songs that when Napster came about I had no reservations about using it to steal music because I felt like the industry had been stealing from me.
This is where I’m at with streaming. At first it was a reasonable price, no commercials. Now we get this bullshit and commercials again. I’ll just pay for regular tv thank you.
I'm getting there also with music streaming. Spotify has put up the price 2 times in the last 12 months and closed the loopholes around buying gift cards overseas and activiting it using a VPN.
I stopped buying Netflix, hbo and Apple last year. Now gone back to pirating.
The main thing I was surprised about was how much more convient pirating is. No longer jumping between apps, everything is in one.
The paid experience should never be worse than free.
we've been with netflix since like 2011, and we just cancelled this year. We'll get it for amonth for great british baking show and that other show I can't remember...oh wednesday, but we'll just do one month...maybe. Maybe we won't even do it anymore at all.
Spotify just pisses me off because it keeps giving me ads for free months or discounted months and then I click on it and it says "new members only." Then don't advertise it for me assholes. I'm logged it, it's coming through my logged in account, of course I'm not a new member. wtf is wrong with you?
