Should I get Star Wars Zero Company if I enjoyed Baldurs Gate 3?

I really love Star Wars and like many fans have been waiting for another good game from them and I hear Zero Company has a really good story and focus a ton on it. But there are 2 things I hear- its a strategy game I have never played one of those before but the gameplay looks similar to Baldurs Gate 3 and I loved that. The other thing I have heard is the game is very hard I like playing video games but im really bad at them and often play on easier modes so I can actually play and enjoy it the reason im asking is because I heard even just normal mode is very hard so is easy mode very hard as well?

You should get Zero Company if you enjoyed X-Com 2, and if you haven't played X-Com 2, then you should play X-Com 2.

It's nothing like baldurs gate 3. It's more comparable to XCOM if you ever played that.

I havent played XCOM but I just saw the combat system and it reminded me of bg3

Kinda like bg3 in a sense stats and combat but it's all ranged and Lil bit of melee

I did not enjoy BG3 but I am really enjoying Zero Company.

I wouldnt really call it that similar to baldurs gate? Theyre both turn based, and the turns in ZC feel rly dynamic bc the characters will idly shoot at each other (just an animation). If you like star wars tho I highly recommend it.

It does look similar to BG3 because it's turned based, but it's pretty different. Based on what you said I still think you'd like it, though. It's a borderline can't miss game if you like Star Wars; if you could beat BG3, I bet you could figure out ZCom pretty easily. Play on Story difficulty, turn permadeath off and go nuts.

Theres a girl that's very fit that can help you try the game before you buy.

I went to her because I dont support Electronic Arts anymore.

They're not really alike at all but yes you should definitely get Zero Company. It's very good.

Just a warning, they are nothing alike. Zero company is supposed to be a more accessible star wars version of XCOM

if you want games like bg3 you should look at Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader

I get scare by the Warhammer because I hear there is so much lore and the hour I hear that people put into it is crazy

eh its like any other large universe, you can go as deep as you want. Lord of the rings, star wars, halo, skyrim.. all of these settings can be enjoyed by people on a casual level or an intensely deep one if they wanted.

Massively different games. What I can say about Zero Company as someone who doesn't care about Star Wars at all is that I really enjoyed, solid campaign from beginning to end. Only problem I had with it was the performance playing on PC.

Zero company is a great game but I don't think anything from BG3 would indicate if you like zero company. It's turn based strategy but very different from BG3.

It's not as hard as other games like it (like x com). There's a lot of forgiveness in the game as well as options to make the game easier. But it can be challenging.

These two games are massively different, the only thing they share really is turn based combat. Zero Company (ZCOM for short) is a tactics game like XCOM. The story for ZCOM is good, but don’t expect anything truly jaw dropping.

Tactics games can be a bit difficult for new time players, but this game is pretty forgiving, it takes a lot to actually kill off units. If people are interested in ZCOM I’d always recommend it, just don’t expect something on the level of BG3.

The combat is kind of like…imagine if BG3 didn’t have the open world explore elements, every time you were on the board it would be for combat. Whenever you weren’t in a mission you would be in a hub area. Here you can talk to your units, specifically the major story ones, make upgrades, recruit new units, that kind of stuff. I played on the default difficulty and I had a decent challenge, nothing crazy. Unfortunately I can’t say how hard the game is on the easier difficulty

The game is pretty easy on normal, it's closer to xcom than bg3. If you really liked bg3 style combat you would probably like it. I liked it!

Im very bad at games so I would probably still try easy mode lol but thanks!

It’s a good, accessible tactics game. I burnt out ~20 hours in but it was a good time until then

Scrib doooon!

there’s a home hub part between every mission. it’s filled with pointless side crap imo

It's a tactical turn based game with small maps that you need to fight your way out of. There isn't much similar aside from a top down view and turn based combat. I did like it though.

Games more like Bakdurs Gate would be Pathfinder WOTR, Warhammer Rogue Trader, or Divinity OS 2. None of them have the polish and production value of BG3 though. It's really in a class of its own in CRPGs.

Bg3 is in a class of it's own but zero company is as close as you can get in terms of being good. The game wont be mindless on easy. But if you like the flexibility of all the gameplay parts of bg3 ypu will love all yhe options you can do in zero company

Zero Company is Xcom, not Baldur's Gate.

Senseless comparison

I heard it runs pretty bad, and the entire development team was furloughed a couple weeks before the game released.

That means that there will be no performance patches unless something dramatic happens with the company and the publisher.

They announced a week or so ago that they are bringing back furloughed devs.

I thought they released a patch a bit ago that fixed many issues. I beat the game before the patch so I don't know. It didn't run great, not unplayable but def not good.
