[PC] SIB Gears of war E-Day?

As the title implies.

Tbh I'm craving for a shooter, hopefully a good multiplayer one and if it's a looter shooter or heavy RPG customization, then even better. And I mean focused on PvE, truth be told I suck at PvP and so I hate it

Last but not least - good playerbase of course. If it'll die soon then... Better not. Being a new game doubt that'll be the case but just saying jaja.

So... Anyone that has played this GoW and even more so the PvE multiplayer who might guide me?

(Side note: this game is better with controller or mouse? Got a few controllers grabbing dust)

I haven't played the new gears but Space Marine 2 also fits this mould, it's one of my favourites for PvE.

It’s not a looter shooter or an rpg in any way, with very little customization. Plenty of people enjoy the PvE mode, but it’s just part of the game, and again, not a ton of customization or anything. I’ve been playing it a lot but I wouldn’t recommend it to you. It just doesn’t sound like something you’d like based on what you said.

If you wanna try it, just get the game pass. When you don’t like it, you can try other games.

It’s been awesome. Campaign has been great in coop with my brother. Horde is the best it has ever been in the Gears series. And PvP has been hectic fun running with my 3 other friends. Tons of content for what you’re paying compared to most games.

Deep rock galactic or Helldivers may scratch that itch.

I like it but it feels incomplete

Worth it for the campaign and horde alone imo, PvP has a learning curve in Gears.

Very true, learning curve can be tough but it's so fun when you get the hang of it

One month of gamepass and you can try it out along with anything else you’re on the fence about and buy it after. Is the game good? Extremely. It’s probably my pick for the best looking video game to date, with extremely satisfying and chunky combat. The story isn’t trying to be deep but really lets you revel in this Armageddon of a day for these characters. I’ve played about 30+ hours of horde siege and it’s a smidge repetitive but I’ve been taking it slow and it seems to get more interesting the higher the difficulty goes. 4 different classes and weapon mods give some expression and customization but nothing crazy it’s mostly preferential to your gameplay style. It’s definitely one of the best releases of the year and especially in that true AAA space where it’s pushing boundaries in the visuals.

Space Marine 2? 31k 24hr peak on Steam. Just had another year of content confirmed on top of all the content they've added over the last two years.

I didnt like Horde Siege at first. It has grown on me and I play a few rounds daily. Haven't touched versus. Each round feels different and the massive map and running from point to point makes it feel truly big scale. The gameplay loop is addicting, I am sure it will get old but the progression sysyem makes it worthwhile. You can always sign up for gamepass and give it a shot instead of buying the game if you are unsure.

I'm really enjoying it. Just got to Act 3 in the campaign which has been great fun especially being a rare 1-4 player co-op campaign. You don't see enough of that these days. There's a thrill and terror to the premise of a city going down to a monster invasion and emotional weight in a lot of moments of survival with some dark themes here and there.

Player base is there, multiplayer is fun but if you should know what it is when it comes to PvP. It's a movement-oriented cover shooter with map weapons where teamwork and communication goes a long way. The gameplay is pretty simple conceptually but complex to master with the cover moves, sliding, even the active reload system keeps everything constantly engaging and rewarding if you can handle it.

As for the PvE, this is actually the part I'm enjoying the most about the game right now. Horde Siege is basically taking elements out of the campaign and putting three squads of 4 players on a large map, each with their own objectives to do. Your squad only gets so many lives and you only get your rewards if at least one of you is able to extract at the end. These runs range from 15-45 minutes and you get 4 classes you can choose from, level up, and build out each with their own gadget and armor mods to personalize for your playstyle. You can also mod your weapons but those are shared across all characters. But the basis of Horde Siege is you get as many rewards as you can manage and then get out to level up and run it back to make your classes stronger. It turns into a wave defense for the main mission and each class does get it's own defense equipment from sentry turrets to mines and spike traps. Side objectives can range from clearing out an area of baddies to transporting a helpful item to another squad on the map. The teamwork and just a bunch of people playing together can be really fun to me. Sometimes another squad will ask for help and I'm more than happy to give it, sometimes our squad needs help and others are cool enough to come by, and then on occasion there are raid bosses that spawn for huge rewards and you'll basically see every squad come together to take it down. I do think this mode could have some more mission variety but for what it is I do enjoy it and have put quite a few hours into it.

Lastly, it has a lot of stuff you just unlock through playing the game and while it also has a weekly currency limit which I dislike, I like that there's a bunch of stuff just to achieve and personalize. This is one of the stronger games of 2026 that I've played. It does have some bugs (my friends and I have gotten way too many crashes) but I honestly was on the fence about getting it and pleasantly do not regret that I did.

I bought a copy of it, so far it’s okay. I also just played 1-3 for the first time, and this isn’t as enjoyable.

Definitely worth a gamepass one month sub.

Absolutely. It's d2d, so I got the physical. I know the coalition will be supporting this for years, and so will I.
