Should I buy the new Hellraiser game?

To start I am a absolute horror fanatic, I have the first halloween movie cover art tattoed on me, have various tattoos from the silent hill series, and overall love horror games.

Some of my favorite games are

Silent hill 2

Outlast

Outlast 2

Signalis

SOMA

I have watched the trailers a good amount, but it looks more similar to something like dying light, and I never really liked that game.

Do you like the movies? It’s probably the most adult game I’ve played. There will be plenty of people who won’t play for the lvl of grotesqueness, nudity, taboo, etc. Gameplay wise it’s more like a first person re4 type game

Re4(og or remake, both great. I prefer remake)is an essential to any gamer. Just like the last of us games. You just need to play those games at least once but yes. You will love this game if you like the movies. Also there is an entire 150 page novella in the extra menu if you are into reading. As a huge fan of books. That was a pleasant surprise

I clocked in just mere 3 hours into it so far but as someone who played through some of horror games (SOMA my beloved) I can say this is the gories one so far.

I love it. If you love the movies as you say in different comment I 100% recommend it

I'm 1 hour in and I would say so far I'm very happy with the money I spent. Haven't gotten to any combat yet, so I can't comment on that but the game feels filthy, the story is a bit cheesy and B-movie-esque (which is a great thing), and the scares have actually been pretty good so far. Play it in the dark.

From reviews I’ve seen it looks like the atmosphere is incredible. Fellow horror fan (and SOMA fan!), and I’m debating on getting it or waiting for a sale after spooky season.

I’ve done the Mythic for it as of last night - I had a blast. It’s sorta like Outlast and RE7 merged into a game.

Hellraiser fans love it, despite its flaws. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel or anything but hey, you’re getting a single player Hellraiser game and story with basically gameplay reminiscent of a Bioshock/RE8 hybrid.

I’m also questioning if I want to buy this game. My caveat is that I’ve never seen the Hellraiser movies. The disturbing content won’t bother me, the story just seemed interesting.

Personally, I didn’t like the gameplay much once combat started being a thing in the demo, but
I would say if you like Hellraiser and you liked Outlast it might be up your alley. Check the demo out if you just want to get a feel for it.
