When the 145th anniversary lineup was announced, I was beyond excited. All of the watches in their purple glory look amazing, but it's the HBJ005 Prospex Chronograph that I knew I had to buy, despite some people complaining that "it's pink". And?
On holiday in Thailand right now, and walked past a Seiko boutique just to see what they had available... Lo and behold, she was there waiting for me!
Couldn't be happier, looks amazing. Also, my first Solar watch!

Had plans to come back with a vintage KS or quartz GS or Prospex chrono but instead - a Seiko 5 😅
Really felt like it rounded out the Seiko collection (alongside an old Tokyo-sourced Rolex)

Just got into collecting but what wanted to show the very first watch I got, given by my pops!
Might be too big on the wrist but hey, a vintage has gotta be worn right?
Edit: it’s a 6309-7040

Purchased this baby in 2020, swapped the OG bracelet with a braxen jubilee strap and it feels even nicer compared to an unclestrap which I owned before. The only downside; male endlinks makes it feel bigger, so if jubilee, always go with female endlinks. I have much more expensive luxury pieces in my collection but if someone wouldve asked me what watch I would wear until the end, it would be this one…

Grateful to work for an authorized Seiko dealer, I ended up getting the alpinist for myself and the HDB003 for my best friend.
To say the least this dial is gorgeous (especially in the sun), I wonder if this or my SPB121 will get more wrist time.

If you want one and only one and you live near North FL, my small shop near me has one of each. They only take payment in person.

As you can see I like divers. 😁

Guys, hi everyone, I wonder how does this beauty look after harsh conditions. Maybe some previous versions after years of wearing. What do scratches on a black bezel look like? I’m really impressed by the white version, but the mint one is also appealing

I’ve been looking for this watch at retail price and finally ordered this morning from retailer/jeweler in Michigan. I noticed jewelers put it up on their website randomly. So I searched it every 2 hours every day. Lol I’m sure quantity is very limited to each retailer. Cause after I purchased mine it marked sold out. I can’t wait!!!! I just found another one available online.
Got the call from my jeweler, she came in. Very pretty shiniest watch I have .
My watch and cocktail nerd worlds collided in Tokyo. 🤓
As some of you probably know, Seiko has released Cocktail Time models inspired by drinks from Star Bar in Ginza, created by Hisashi Kishi.
Five years ago, I received one of those watches as a wedding gift. Inside the box was a card featuring Kishi himself. Fast forward five years, and my wife and I finally visited the original Star Bar in Ginza.
By sheer luck, Kishi-san and his daughter were both serving that evening. Apparently, we’d picked a particularly lucky night to catch them together!
They were both incredibly kind, warm, and down-to-earth. Meeting someone connected to a watch that already means so much to me was special enough, but how lovely they both were made the experience even better.
At one point, he even showed me a book containing next year’s Cocktail Time models. Safe to say, my inner watch nerd was very happy. :)
There’s something quite surreal about seeing someone’s card in your watch box, then finding yourself in his bar five years later, looking through upcoming Seiko models with him.
This watch already had a special place in my life as a wedding gift. Now it has another story attached to it.
Any fellow Cocktail Time owners here who’ve made the trip to Star Bar?

Just found out about the concept of birth year watches today this would be mine (1986) does this become my new grail watch 😅 Post a cool seiko release from your birth year
Not sure if it’s vintage yet. But had my NOS out inspecting it.
I’ve never intended to wear it, I simply like the watch and like that it’s brand new with all paperwork, etc.

This watch has been with me for almost a decade. Bought on amazon with gift cards because I didn't have a bank account yet. Never gave me an issue, never stopped ticking. True classic.
New purchase today, 1st Seiko ... stoked. Gotta love a good sale 😁

I recently bought my dream Seiko. The watch that checked every box on what I look for in a watch (within my budget). Limited Edition, diver's 200m, sapphire crystal, a nice, versatile size (41mm), the two-tone bezel, symmetrical markers, red-tipped seconds hand, a subtle 4:30 date window... I could go on and on talking about all the little details I love about this watch. Yet, it's the one detail I hate that has been living rent-free in my head ever since I noticed it.
There's a small dent on the bezel. I didn't notice it when I got the watch (I bought it used and it looks like a mark from the previous owner - wich he didn't mention). You can barely see it from a regular distance, but I just can't unsee it. It broke the honeymoon phase, lol.
Now I'm wondering what to do next. Is it repairable? The bezel looks like it's bent inward, but I'm not sure if it can be bent back into shape. I took it to a small watch shop (since I live in a small town), but the watchmaker told me he couldn't fix it. I even tried taking it to a goldsmith and a jeweler, but they couldn't fix it either.
I couldn't find much information online about this recent "Slim Turtle" family (SPB317 and similars).
I reckon repairing it might be even more difficult because of the black PVD coating. And since I'm running low on options, maybe I should send it to Seiko and let them rip my savings apart? I don't know.
If you guys have any information about whether this watch can be repaired, if the bezel can be bent back into shape, or whether I can replace it with an aftermarket part, please let me know. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, guys! BTW I'm from Brazil.

Absolutely in love with it. First GMT. Need to get my head round the extra hand. What do people set it as if they aren’t particularly bothered about another time zone at the current time?
