Crime Update to question about calling 911: So, it turns out a neighboring business got a lot more on their security cameras...

So the brushing off I (and others, it turns out) got from calling 911 at 12:45 in the morning last weekend for what the 911 dispatchers were treating as sort of a nothingburger, turned out to be over 100 people and nearly as many cars, with masses of alcohol, neon-lit car stereos that seemed like they should have been breaking the car windows, cruising and doing burnouts on the street, and, get this, at least 3 small children (kindergarten/younger age) running around in the midst of this mess. When the noise stopped at about 3:30 am, the security cam footage showed it was because two SPD units showed up. You should have seen the mad dash for the cars; they created their own traffic jam, lol! And there were plenty of NSFW bits of people going to the bathroom where no bathrooms exist. So, as we were told, there could be citations for trespassing, open container/underage drinking, reckless driving, double digit numbers of DUIs, child endangerment, disturbing the peace, etc. And now these businesses will have to spend money on trying to keep these assholes off their property. Nice job, Seattle...

Release the footage. It's the only way to get eyes on your problem.

Also, I'd rather "release the Kraken" on them, lol! Legendary monster or the enforcers from our hockey team, both would work!

Oh, did you mean publicly? They absolutely wouldn't do that because it would be very obvious to the miscreants just who did it and they don't want any sort of gang retribution on top of everything else.

I'm flabbergasted that you think that telling Reddit what neighborhood the takeover happened in is going to compromise your safety, especially so unless this happened in some tiny hamlet nobody has heard of, as opposed to "Cap Hill", "Belltown", "Rainier beach", or one of the usual places this happens.

But ok. Enjoy your crippling paranoia.

I sincerely hope you can experience some of the shit we have so you are more understanding of our situation. You know, the kind that has become so unbelievably common here in Thunderdome now, the kind that involves armed criminals with felony warrants on our streets pointing guns in your face, etc.

Check in with me now and again to see if I've made it out of Seattle yet and if I have, the blistering diatribe I will be posting here on Reddit will reveal all and it will make some of the specifically named people VERY uncomfortable.
