Locals bands from Seattle?

Any local bands from Seattle that would want to play with us this winter/next year? We’re trying to book shows in the area and a lot of venues ask us about putting a bill together some bands from Seattle. Feel free to send some links as well as any suggestions.

We're a surf/doom/prog instrumental band from Bellingham, WA.

Help me see The Long Winters in Seattle

Hello! My name is Michael Hibberd, I am a 17 year old high school student, musician, and ultra runner.

I am the largest Long Winters fan on the east coast, and the opportunity has come up to see them live in Seattle this New Years Eve. I saved up just enough to buy a ticket. Only problem- I still need a TON of money for airfare, hotels, food, etc, which is hard to get because I work part time at a grocery store and do not make that much money.

Tore my meniscus, so I built a free way to hear Seattle’s next two weeks of shows before they happen. Would love feedback

Hey r/SeattleMusic,

I recently tore my meniscus, which means a lot of couch time. I’ve been using it to build something I’d actually use myself: 2 Week Soundcheck (2weeksoundcheck.com).

It started as a selfish project. I live in Frelard and wanted to go to more shows at the small rooms near me, like Conor Byrne, Sunset Tavern, Tractor Tavern and Hidden Hall. The problem was that I usually didn’t know anyone on the bill. So I made a playlist with the top three songs from every artist playing in the next two weeks, in show order. You hit shuffle, and when something grabs you, you listen more and hopefully go see them.

So far it’s working. I’ve found a few bands I’d never heard of, and I’m planning to go to Old Coast at Sunset or Young-Chhaylee at Conor Byrne this Saturday because of it, bad knee and all.

Based on feedback from friends/colleagues, it’s grown into:

  • A Seattle-wide playlist delivered every Sunday covering 20+ venues, from Sunset and Black Lodge to the Crocodile, Showbox and Benaroya
  • A Frelard playlist for the Ballard/Fremont rooms, openers included
  • Seven genre playlists if you only want folk, only electronic, and so on
  • Every show in the next two weeks on one page, which you can filter by date, neighborhood, venue or genre, with a preview button for each headliner
  • A free Sunday newsletter with a link to the new playlists

It’s free. The playlists are on Spotify, and each issue has a free link to copy them to Apple Music or YouTube Music.

Here’s what I’d love feedback on:

  • Venues I’m missing, especially small rooms
  • Whether the playlists actually help you find shows
  • Anything broken or confusing on the site
  • Which neighborhood should get its own playlist next

https://2weeksoundcheck.com. The newsletter signup is right on the page.

Thanks for checking it out. Tell me what you think, good or bad.

Looking for bandmates for metalcore artist project!

Hi friends! I'm a metalcore artist by the name of Daizie Darker, I'm fairly new to the area and still getting to know the scene here. I'd love to connect with more rock/heavy/metal-ish musicians and play some shows in 2027, and also songwriters, engineers, and producers. And because it's Seattle, I'm always down to just make some great friends. I love supporting my people and their art / life / craft, so I'd love to hear about your projects and how I can support you, too!

We have members who live in Tacoma, Bremerton, Longview, & Portland. (One splits time between two cities - business).

Our second single, bloodletting, dropped on all the streamers. It has been called a mix of shoegaze, grunge, and black metal.

We’re also playing 1/30/27 w/ Black Nite Crash & Low Hums at Conor Byrne in Ballard.

We hope you enjoy.

Hey! I’m Jacob 25M. I’m really into metal, punk/hardcore, grunge, and stoner/doom rock. I’m from Spain and moved here 2 years ago. Been wanting to go to shows but don’t really have friends who are into the same music besides my gf lol. I’m also into urbexing and i play guitar and bass.

Looking for people around my age to go to shows with, discover local bands and potentially get shitfaced.

Did Ian Asher ever come on last night?

We left 2.5 hours into his show at The Shop last night, no sign of Ian. The openers were mid and at one point I heard the same bass line for 8 songs in a row. The drinks were nasty and expensive, but usually we can handle that as long as there’s a good beat.

Did he come after midnight? Was it worth it, if you stayed?

Best way to submit music to local playlists/curators?

Hey everyone, my band recently released our album and I’d love to submit some of our songs to local playlists and groups. Anyone have good recommendations? I’ve really enjoyed listening to your guys’ music on some of the local Spotify playlists but I’m not too sure how to get in touch with curators. Thanks!

Bassist/vocalist looking for a relaxed cover band

23-year-old bassist in Capitol Hill looking for a low-key but organized band in the Seattle/Puget Sound area. I’ve played bass for nearly 10 years, including big band, jazz, rock, and indie groups in high school and college. I still play every week, learn songs quickly, and can sing lead or harmony.

Ideally I’d join a band that mainly plays covers, comes to rehearsal prepared, and plays live roughly once a month. I’m especially into alternative and indie rock, grunge, post-grunge, and some pop and classic rock depending on the songs. Probably not the right fit for country, soul, or a straight tribute project.

I’m looking for something fun and dependable, not touring, gigging every weekend, or making the band my whole life. I’d also prefer bandmates reasonably close to my age.

Seattle is easiest, but I’m open to the wider Puget Sound area for the right group, especially if rehearsals farther out are on Saturdays.

Feel free to send me a DM if you need a bassist and please share a sample setlist or some bands you play, where you rehearse, and your usual schedule.

PNW metal/punk/emo discord

Hello! I’m looking to get a metal/punk/emo discord going to find PNW people in the area to talk music with. It’s so hard to find others with the same interest. The idea is to simply make friends and maybe eventually find local-ish people to go shows with :)
