This subreddit has ruined our idea of a "good" SAT score
Everyone on this subreddit seems to do extremely well in their SAT.Usually I always see posts about 1400+ and rarely any lower. This may have significantly inflated our ideas of a good SAT score. When I got my 1460 I thought I did very badly because every other post on the subreddit was a 1550+ and the ones getting 1450's were the ones complaining that their test scores were lower than practice tests. This made me feel ashamed to even post about my 1460.But the national average is actually 1045 anything above a 1100 can be considered above average. The reason this subreddit seems so different is because the ones who bother to be a part of this community are the ones who care more and prepare more for the SAT.The average person here probably scores much higher than an average person around the world. So do not let this subreddit make your score feel insignificant.anything over a 1350 is over the 90th percentile and should be classified as a great score.

Oct SAT scores tomorrow
I just wanted to say, best of luck to everyone who is receiving their October scores tomorrow. You should be proud of yourself for taking the test.
If you’re a junior, I hope your score is what you want, and remember that you still have time to retake it. If you’re unhappy with your score, you have plenty of time to study the sections you struggled with and improve.
If you’re a senior and this was your last chance, I hope that you are happy with the outcome. If not, remember that you are worth more than a standardized test. Your entire application for college isn’t dependent on this score, even if it feels like it is. You could technically retake in November, but if this was your last chance, you should be proud of yourself for escaping the SAT cycle and being done with all of this. Regardless of what it ends up being, you should know that you will end up exactly where you’re supposed to be for college (if you plan to go) and one test won’t ruin anything.
You all did it! Congrats, and I hope when you check your scores tomorrow you have something to celebrate. ❤️

Desperately Need Study Resources
So I'm taking the psat and sat pretty soon.
I've generally been a pretty good student (good grades, honors, aps, etc). On the psat 9 and 10 i got the equivalent to a 1200-1300 on the sat (below my goal for the sat, but a decent place to build from). When I do Khan academy practice questions I get pretty much every one right. But as soon as i do a practice pdf SAT from the collegeboard I get really bad scores (1000-1100).
This is one of the practice tests that i took - directly from the college board website: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/psat-nmsqt-psat-10-practice-test-3.pdf
Is there a reason for this? I take the both exams soon so i need tpo get my scores up quick.
Any recommendations for study resources?

Am I doomed?
I need at least 1470 on the SAT, yet non of my practice tests are close enough. I already took one gap year and if I fail I will unwillingly be drafted to the army.
Hope my october SAT will turn out to be good. BLESS RNG🙏

Drop my score?
Context:
I got a 790 Math and 690 RW in September, trying to raise my English score for a superscore
The question:
I lwk fcked up rlly bad on the October sat that was held by my school and I’m expecting at least 3 questions from the hard 2nd math module to be wrong (they were fairly simple I’ll list what they were), and for English I breezed thru module 1 but lwk guessed like 2 vocab questions and half ahhed like 5 reading synthesis ones (I got the hard module 2)…
Dilemma:
Do I drop the test so that hyper selective schools like MIT, Stanf, UMich, UDUB, USC, Purdue etc. count it against me?
The questions in case you’re wondering:
The graph of the quadratic function y = ax² + bx + c has a vertex at something find what a + b + c are
Given a function with power of x times some fraction and told to choose equation from multi choice when exponent is x
Two parallel lines are intersected by a third line. Find what some variable is when you add a couple of the angles

Help me !! First time taking sat
Hey, I’m a high school senior and an international student preparing for the SAT.
I was pretty chill about the test because I had decided to take a gap year lol. My parents were okay with my decision, but now, all of a sudden, they’ve changed their minds, and they’re asking me to take the SAT in November and December.
Ngl, my starting score was around 1110 (600 Math and 510 Reading and Writing, I think). After putting in some serious work on Khan Academy, Bluebook, One Prep, etc., I’ve managed to get up to a 1450!
My Math score is going pretty well now, usually around 750, but Reading and Writing is still my weak point, especially the longer passages. I usually run out of time during Module 2, which really hurts my score.
I’m aiming for at least a 1530. Is that realistic, considering my current score and the time I have left before the November SAT?
For those who’ve been in a similar situation, what strategies, resources, or tips helped you improve your Reading and Writing score, especially with time management?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hey guys, I need some tips
My current SAT score is around 950 (Math: 590, Reading and Writing: 360)
Do you think it’s possible to reach 1350+ in 2 months? I’m willing to study hard every day
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
