Discussion New Sega Console or Handheld --
Do you think Sega will really release one, will it just play their older games, and do you think it's the real reason they took down all their classic stuff across platforms?

It's hypnotic! The way Fine and Dandy's feet weave back and forth with the swaying of his body..as Mr. Spock might say it's rather "Fascinating" ;)

My boy Silver the hedgehog hasn’t been able to really shine since the release of his first appearance 20yrs ago. Shadow has been in multiple games, where’s the same treatment for Silver. Sega needs to make it happen because I would play the hell out of it.

Check out my new GRAPHICS SHOWCASE of the Sega/Mega CDs best 2.5D games! I love how that specialized sprite scaling and rotation ASIC gave the Genesis a real boost and took these classic games into the next dimension. Batman Returns, Sonic CD, Soul Star, AH-3 Thunderstrike and more!
Who need polygons when this system pushes the pixels so dang well? These games still look (and play) great today. See for yourself 😍

The reputation of both PlayStation and Xbox continues to spiral downwards after the "no physical disks" and "awful 1st party." Wouldn't it be a good moment for Sega to return to the Hardware market? Sonic, Yakuza, Phantasy Star Online, Virtua Fighter and Persona as exclusives could be a great incentive for gamers and then they could unleash all those reboots of classics that they have in the works. What do you guys think?

Upon seeing the post about this very subreddit coming to be, I decided to come up with an idea for a Sonic Team game compilation.
These are the games I'd include in the compilation:
* NiGHTS into Dreams... (SEGA Saturn)
* Burning Rangers (SEGA Saturn)
* ChuChu Rocket! (SEGA Dreamcast)
* Samba de Amigo (SEGA NAOMI)
* Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg (Nintendo GameCube)
* Puyo Pop Fever (SEGA NAOMI GD-ROM)
After reading the list of games above, you definitely noticed that there isn't a single Sonic the Hedgehog game in said list. Well, I have a valid reason for that: the purpose of this Sonic Tram compilation is to introduce modern SEGA gamers, as well as modern gamers in general, to some of Sonic Team's other works, and to show them that just because Sonic Team has "Sonic" in their name, does not mean that's all they're about.
I also omitted Phantasy Star Online, because how can one be able to officially play an old MMORPG with no official servers?
I picked the Discussion post flair for this repost, because I don't know which other post flair my idea would fit in.

(Don’t flame me for this, for I obviously don’t have any power enforcing anything you’d dislike.)
I genuinely think Space Channel 5 has the potential to become a successful rhythm game series again, but SEGA needs to actually give it a chance.
First of all, barely anyone seems to know about this series anymore because SEGA practically forgot it exists. It feels like Space Channel 5 only gets mentioned once every ten years, and while that might bring in a few new fans, it’s not enough to revive an entire franchise unless a popular streamer randomly discovers it and introduces it to their audience.
Another problem is accessibility. The first two games are genuinely great, but trying to play them nowadays can be a pain when you need older consoles like the Dreamcast or PS2. Meanwhile, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! is much more recent and potentially easier for people with compatible VR equipment to access. Unfortunately, it’s a relatively short experience, and I personally think the first two games offer a lot more in terms of story, characters, and overall gameplay.
Here’s what I think SEGA should do: remake the first two games and turn the VR game into a proper third mainline installment instead of leaving it as a short side story.
And honestly, I don’t think updating the first two games would be that unreasonable. One thing I’ve noticed when showing the gameplay to my friends is that they sometimes lose interest because of the dated-looking 3D models, stiff animations, and characters whose mouths barely move during dialogue. Obviously, the original games have their own charm, but I think modern graphics, smoother animations, and more expressive character models could make the series much more appealing to new players without losing its original personality.
SEGA could even bring back the original voice actors where possible or hire new ones if necessary. Imagine seeing Ulala, Noize, Pudding, Jaguar, and Purge with modern character models, more expressive animations, and fully animated story scenes! And hopefully Fuse because he’s all talk no-show, not sure why they didn’t give him a 3-D model in the first place if he talks the most…
And for the third game, they could expand on the ideas introduced in Space Channel 5 VR instead of treating it like a short VR-exclusive adventure. Give us a full-length story, more playable stages, more characters, more songs, and more opportunities to explore the Space Channel 5 universe. They could even make the gameplay accessible to people without VR equipment so that more fans could enjoy it.
I know remaking games takes time and money, but SEGA is a major company. The real question is whether they care enough about this franchise to invest in it again.
It honestly makes me a little sad because Space Channel 5 is one of the best rhythm game series I’ve ever discovered, and I’ve had this weird little obsession with it since elementary school lol. I want more people to know about it, appreciate its characters, and get excited about its music and gameplay the same way longtime fans do.
I want this series to become popular enough that SEGA finally looks at it and thinks, “Wait, we have an entire franchise here that we could be making money from!”
And then BOOM. New Space Channel 5 games, remakes, merchandise, collaborations, the whole thing.
PLEASE, SEGA. LET ULALA REPORT AGAIN. Not even my friends who are “Sega nerds” know about this video game; and they have the consoles and stuff. 💔
(And I’d really like to get my hands on Purge merch!)
What were some of your thoughts on this game? I loved it as a kid though never got very far (in a short game I know). Still have it around somewhere and just saw it’s available on the Xbox Store! Excited to give it another go. Always hoping they’ll release another one someday, I missed those early Sega/Microsoft collaboration days. Seemed to just make so much sense. Anyway, what are some of your fond/not-so-fond memories of Panzer Dragoon Orta?

I really think Sonic The Hedgehog would be a great fit for a Musou game. There other series out there like Gundam, One Piece, Zelda, and others that got a Musou game, and a few years back, Sega did work with Koei Techmo and Omega Force to make Persona 5 Strikers, which is a Persona Musou game, so why not Sonic? What do you all think?

Hello everyone! I love SEGA a lot but I also love racing games a lot. SEGA has racing games and naturally they are mostly great. Endlessly replayable despite their small track counts, iconic music that never misses, hopelessly addictive to try to win on them.
So I'm wondering what are your favorite racing games from them? The only rule I'll place is that it MUST be developed from a SEGA studio like AM2, Sonic Team, etc. (That even allows for F-Zero GX since it's made by Amusement Vision and even the Initial D games)
Here's my picks:
1) SEGA Rally 2: You thought the image was for show? Nah this game is the best Rally game my hands have felt and my ears have listened to. The gameplay is just sublime. Cars are quick and responsive and all of them are great to drive. The vibes of this game are immaculate, especially the Snow and Riviera stages, almost makes me wanna live there. Music is excellent too from rocking headbangers, to electronic, to something emotional like Searching for My Dreams this soundtrack is an experience even if the game is 4 minutes long
2) OutRun 2: An obvious pick and for a good reason. More vibes as both maps based on Europe and America have some absolutely stunning locales, tho personally I prefer SP's Map just for Casino Town alone. Similar to SEGA Rally 2 the locations make me wish I could live there. Erm anyway the gameplay here feels like Ridge Racer at times ngl, but you're doing it in a Ferrari at 300 km/h and the sense of speed is great. There's also a lot of music to choose from without a single miss somehow. Also I love the Continuous Routes where you just go through all the stages from the map you choose.
3) Daytona USA 2: I am not avoiding the 2 allegations here. So why did I choose this over the iconic and also fantastic original? Idk my brain clicks with it more. I love the slipstream mechanic and this game is so challenging this one hits me with wanting to get that perfect run. Beginner is a trap course I swear. Great rock anthem soundtrack with powerful vocals by Dennis St. James (or Takenobu Mitsuyoshi if you choose him). Also the locations are stunning especially Battle on the Edge's Beginner Course
4) Sonic Riders: Well this IS a SEGA game by Sonic Team so it counts and I'm putting it here whether you like it or not, it qualifies. It's just peak all around. The gameplay is peak with intense resource management for your every action, the music is peak (especially Babylon Garden), the aesthetics are sleek and cool. A perfect encapsulation of Sonic
5) Daytona USA - Circuit Edition: Ngl I always forget the full name of this Saturn version but it totally deserves the spot. It's Daytona USA... With more stuff in it. More cars, tracks, music and worse graphics than the arcade game. But the gameplay feels very good to play and it's still Daytona USA at the end of the day. There's also remixes of the original songs that are great but if you don't like them you can just switch them back (depending on the version of the game). You can even play as a horse, what's not to like about it?
That's my own picks. I wonder what you guys will pick?

EDIT: While my situation is still true I would like to point out that I only put the term “scam” in the title so that the post would actually give informative replies.
I ordered these shadow the hedgehog sneakers from the official sega web store and all i got were these bland sneakers?
The product i received is the 2nd and 3rd image.
For context I ordered this alongside two shirts and a desk mat, all of which arrived and im very happy with. However the sneakers looked nothing like their display and how they were advertised to be. Moreover I’ve sent multiple emails this past week and their customer service has yet to respond to me. FYI i received the shoes on the 4th October.
