I gave my girl my HBO max login so that she can use my account but she’s having an issue. When she goes to click on the HBO MAX app, hoping that it opens up and it will allow her to put in my email and password..this screen pops up asking for a code. We have no idea what code the HBO MAX app is wanting and/or where it could be bc she hasn’t even got to the part where my account would even generate a code for her to plug in BC SHE HASNT EVEN GOT TO THE SIGN IN PAGE. She’s doesn’t have the firestick, like myself..so she’s going through Roku to access HBO MAX. If anyone has some helpful feedback for me that would be very much appreciated🙏🏽

Like why is there not a button on the damn app itself?

No other apps on my Roku are experiencing this problem.

I went to use my device after being away for a few days and suddenly the volume on all inputs/apps is way too loud even when I have it set to 1. I’ve tried restarting, factory resetting, and power cycling, nothing has worked so far. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’ve only had this tv for about a month :(

All day today, youtube on my Roku TV has been looking like nightmare fuel. I have done just about everything to try to fix it and nothing. So I guess we're gonna be watching YouTube on horror mode. Anyone else have this happening?

I'm sure this has been asked before so forgive me, why isn't Spotify or yours working on my onn Roku tv? It started with YouTube and now it's Spotify too. I have factor rest the tv several times, deleted and redownloaded the apps, tried turning the tv off and on, and used the preset YouTube button. All it does is start to open the app then take me back to the Home Screen. I can't even start them from my phone and cast them to the tv.

I wonder if the Roku OS supports UVC Webcams.

I am developing a video calling app which is already in the testing phase for Android TV and I was wondering if I could port it over Roku, so those with a TV with USB ports or those with the Roku Ultra could connect a USB UVC webcam to be able to use the app.

I purchased the CNN all access package on my Roku about a week ago. Every two days it reverts back to CNN Headlines and I can’t get to the live. I’ve tried everything, signing out, updating, uninstall (which it won’t let me do). Has anyone else had this issue??? I don’t have a cable provider but it said I didn’t need one, that it was “Now Available”. Thanks!

I’m using a Roku stick on a TCL Google TV. I have my Spectrum cable box plugged into HDMI 1, and the Roku stick into HDMI 2. I’ve tried setting up input switching but it fails; the Roku does not switch or recognize the cable box on HDMI 1. Yes, the TV has CEC enabled. Yes, I’ve tried restarting all devices. Yes, I’ve tried using a different HDMI port for the cable box. Are there any known bugs that could be causing this?

I have two Roku TVs in my house. One of them is typically set to 30 (the maximum is 100). But the other one isn't loud enough to understand the dialog unless it's set at the maximum volume (100) and even then it's sometimes difficult to understand.

Hi, I’m having some issues with my Roku tv. The brilliance/color is switching back and forth constantly, every second or so. I factory reset it and it’s still not working. Any suggestions?

I have seven Roku devices. As recently as Spring, all of the devices were able to be controlled with Google Home (GH). Now, only the sticks and set tops work with GH and the Streambars (I have one of each) will not show in GH. I used GH to turn on the TV, go Home on the Streambar, and then open YoutubeTV. It’s has worked since I got the Streambar almost 3 years ago. Now when I sync with GH, the streambars do not show. They do show in the Roku app, and I have tried literally everything to reset/resync/etc.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes?

I have a TCL 55US5800 Roku TV which is about 10 years old now. Since I got a new WIFI 6 router earlier this year, this TV has a consistent problem where it will appear to be connected to our network, then once we open a streaming app it will start playing for 10-20 seconds before the network drops and I have to exit to the main settings menu to reconnect. It will "connect" again like normal, then when I go back into an app the same thing will happen. It will eventually stay connected, but sometimes I only need to do this a couple times, while other times this might be a 10+ minute process of opening an app, start playing, exit to reconnect, etc.

I did not have this problem before we got a new router, so I'm thinking this TV isn't compatible with whatever the latest WIFI technology is, and it has a problem with some "smart" feature that the router might have to get it onto the best bandwidth? I'm not an expert.

So my questions are a) is there a known fix for this, and b) is anyone aware if this is an issue for newer TCL TV's? I'm researching getting a new one if this isn't fixable and leaning towards a TCL QM7K, but not if this is a common thing. Thanks in advance.

I've had a Roku Ultra for the past 2 years and it's been great for us- we mainly use it for Amazon prime, disney plus, paramount plus, youtube TV during football season and not really too much more.

I've used Apple TV on my Macbook bro- I personally wasnt too keen on most of the content except the Formula 1 races and movie.

However, I've seen certain ppl are madly in love with the Apple TV box (hardware) and I would like to know if I am missing out on something. What does this device offer (esp insights for the newest version announced today) that Roku Ultra does not?

On one of our tvs the Didney plus app will go to the Disney screen then crash back to the home screen.

Multiple times have removed app, unplugged tv, and router..

Other apps work just fine, Disney works on other tv (which is identical tv) but on this specific tv wont load at all.

Is there something im missing to try?

Is anyone else's Roku devices starting to just become really slow/unresponsive? I have multiple Roku devices from streaming sticks to full 4k boxes and they all seems to be degrading fast. One of them freezes super often, disconnects from the remote, etc. I used to rave about Roku as the agnostic and cheap streaming device, but it seems the quality and performance is dropping significantly.

With Apple about to drop a new Apple TV streaming device I think I am about to jump over there. Anyone have similar issues?

UPDATE: Added device models:

4640X - this model causing the most issues/slow down
3810X - this model lots of slow down, but stable overall
4802X - this model probably the best off since it is the newest Roku i have being about 3 years old.

I just updated from an 8 year old ROKU Ultra to a new Ultra 4850X
S/W version 15.3

I have Youtube Premium, and used to be able to watch videos at accelerated speed.

With this new Ultra, whenever I set the speed to 1.25 or above, the audio stops for about a second every 5 seconds or so. The video continues playing, and gets out of sync with the audio.

The old Ultra worked fine.
This is very frustrating.
Is this a known bug, and is there a fix on the near horizon?

Also, how can I report this issue to ROKU to make them aware?

Ive tried basically everything but it still wont let me push any buttons or do anything with my tv, occasionally it will go back to normal, but only for like 15 minutes and then it goes back to this weird title flicker. is this fixable or should i just buy a new tv?

Turned on my tv last night and it appeared like the photo. Super bright and picture looking almost negative.

For the love of god, can anyone tell me how to PERMANENTLY turn off the closed captioning on my Roku device? It seems they have a new feature that defaults to CC, and anytime I watch anything (or even pause something I'm watching), I have to go in and manually turn them off. Every time. I'm not a millenial, so I don't like watching stuff with the CC and it's driving me nuts. I googled that you can go into Settings and turn them off, but everytime I turn off the TV and turn it back on, it defaults back to the CC. Somebody help please!

I'm so confused.

For the past few weeks I have not been able to access any of the local news channels on live tv. Does anyone else have this problem and how can this be fixed?
