Tūrisms/Tourism Unusual sights and tours in Riga?
Hi
We are a group of four visiting Riga in a couple of weeks. We are there for a weekend and we are looking for some unusual sights and fun experiences. We are into history, food and beer and sport and such. Currently we consider a football match or trying the bobsleigh just outside Riga.
Has anyone some good advice on what to do and where to go in Riga?

Dzīve Rīgā/Life in Riga Meetup for work or coffee
Hey there, I (f, 33) am spending some time in Riga to work on my research. Anyone out there who'd like to meet up for coffee or a shared work session? :)
Ēdieni/Food Recommendations for places to eat
Hi all. I'm visiting Riga for work and would love to take the opportunity to experience the city through its food and drink. I've already looked at various lisiticles online but there's nothing like a local recommendation.
Where should I go? What should I eat? Where are your favourite spots and why?
I'm here until Saturday so I'm hoping to have plenty of time to soak in the Riga way of life in the evenings. Restaurants, cafes, bars. All recommendations welcome l.

Tūrisms/Tourism Christmas in Riga | Solo Travel
Hey guys! I'm 33F, and I'm thinking of spending Christmas in Riga as a solo traveler.
What would you recommend visiting besides the Christmas markets? Is there anything I should avoid?
I'm also curious about how locals usually celebrate Christmas. What do people typically do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Are restaurants, bars, and attractions generally open, or does the city get pretty quiet?
Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently planning my trip!
Thank you! :)

Tūrisms/Tourism Pulling an all nighter in Riga
edit 2: what famous sights (parks, museums, small local places) would you recommend that are not on wikipedia. The 0-24 part was only important because we dont have a hotel and ater a while we would like to sit down. the point of the trip is specifically not to get wasted
Hello everybody! I am planning to spend time in Riga with a small circle of friends, we will be there from 6 pm to 4ish am at the end of October. We are not planning on staying in a hotel because we would love to explore the city. Do you have any suggestion what we could do in that time frame? Are McDonalds/Burger King or suchs places open 0-24?
Thank you in advance
edit: main question is what sights do you recommend visiting?

Diskusija/Discussion Evolution or Playtech for a Game Presenter in Riga?
Hey guys!
I recently had interviews with both Evolution and Playtech (Euro Live Technologies) in Riga for a Game Presenter position, and now I'm having a really hard time deciding which one to choose.
The conditions they've offered me seem quite similar, so I'm mostly interested in the things that aren't obvious from the job descriptions.
For people who currently work there or have worked there:
- Which company would you choose today and why?
- What is the actual workload like?
- How are the shifts in practice, especially night shifts?
- How realistic are the advertised bonuses/salary ranges?
- How is the management/team atmosphere?
- How easy is it to get better shifts or swap shifts?
- Are there real opportunities to move to another position internally?
- Which company treats Game Presenters better overall?
- And most importantly: if you had offers from both today, which one would you pick?
I'm not looking for generic "get a real job" comments — I'm specifically interested in experiences from people who have actually worked at Evolution or Playtech in Riga.
Thanks!

Jautājums/Question Looking for pumpkin patch
This is probably a silly question, but are there any pumpkin patches in Latvia? I’m living in Riga and looking for a fun fall activity, so I thought of pumpkin patches.
I couldn’t find anything on Google so I assume not, but I figured I’d give it a shot and ask here.

Diskusija/Discussion Rave culture
Subkulturai?

Palīdzība/Help Looking for a Latvian-English interpreter in Riga
Hi all,
I need a small favour. I have a free legal aid intake interview at the University of Latvia (Raiņa bulvāris 19) about a tenancy deposit dispute. The interview is held in Latvian, and I need someone fluent in Latvian and English to come along as an interpreter. It would be roughly an hour.
The interview was originally set for Monday 12 Oct at 10:00, but the centre cancelled it until I find an interpreter, once I have someone, they will schedule a new slot. The centre asked me to confirm by this Friday (9 Oct) at noon, so timing is a bit tight.
Happy to pay for your time, or at least coffee and lunch are on me. If you can help or know someone who can, please DM me.
Paldies!
