This building went through A LOT of brand name changes ! Originally W.T. Grant/Grant City (fall 1972-December 1975), later Woolco (March 1977-January 1983), then Caldor (May 26th of 1983-April 1999), and finally Kmart (November 14th of 1999-October 20th of 2024), then the last full size one in the mainland United States. This store is now a Target: https://massmarketretailers.com/target-gives-a-preview-of-new-bridgehampton-n-y-store-ahead-of-opening/
https://corporate.target.com/about/locations/upcoming-stores

W.T. Grant was founded in 1906 by William Thomas Grant (1876-1972), went bankrupt and ceased to exist in 1976, Woolco was founded in 1964 and went out of business in 1983, Caldor was founded in 1951 and closed up shop on May 15 1999. But Kmart, founded on July 31st of 1899, is still in business with 3 stores and a website Kmart.com (which has been stuck with a banner stating "These Deals Won't Last Forever" on the home page since December 2021). The Kmart distribution center closed down last month on September 16th in Fairless Hills Pennsylvania, leaving us with [3 functioning DCs] (https://transformwo.com/). And 140-year-old retailer Sears also still operates Sears.com and has 5 stores:

The very last standalone Sears store, at Coral Gables, FL (near Miami) 10/27/1954-present, there is also a Kmart nearby at Kendall Lakes Plaza (1977-present)
Sunvalley Mall, Concord, CA (near San Francisco) 10/19/1966-present
South Shore Plaza, Braintree, MA (near Boston) 10/6/1980-present
Cielo Vista Mall, El Paso, TX 2/24/1982-present
The Florida Mall, Orlando, FL 3/12/1986-present

As for Kmart, the other 2 are at:

Tutu Park Mall in St Thomas USVI (1993-present)
Freestanding store in Tamuning Guam (1995-present)

The original Pensacola, FL Toys "R" Us store on North 9th Avenue. An extremely odd Concept 2000 remodel where you had to enter down a ramp. From what I've heard, it had problems with flooding and puddles outside the door (which is probably why it relocated)

Because of pure greed, he was able to strip these iconic brands and sell them off for parts piece by piece until nothing remained. Pensions gone, retirements went up in smoke, and local communities went belly up.

Quintard Mall opened in Oxford, Alabama in 1970 with J.C. Penney and Britt’s (J.J. Newberry Co.) as anchor stores. There was also a SupeRx Drugs and a number of other stores, with Martin's as a junior anchor.

On October 9th of 1985, Sears opened in the former Britt's building, and the [building was expanded in 1997, with the mall itself being expanded in 2000, adding 2 anchors Dillard's and AmStar 12 Cinemas] (https://web.archive.org/web/20091005032251/http://www.icsc.org/srch/sct/sct0501/page141.php). It had a black 1984-1994 logo outside the building, and blue 1994-2004 logo inside the mall, along with a totally unique interior and exterior design and mall entrance. That same year of this store opening, in 1985, [Sears Hardware Stores began opening] (https://www.upi.com/Archives/1985/01/07/Sears-Roebuck-and-Co-Monday-announced-plans-to-open/3314473922000/).

On July 17th of 2016 this store closed down and it had since been demolished in 2019, around that same year the last Sears in Alabama that opened on May 8th of 1996 closed down on October 27th, located at the Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham.
As of this post, there are 5 Sears stores, 3 distribution centers, other brands Kenmore, Sears Home Services, Shop Your Way, Sears Parts Direct and the Sears.com online store left. Out of the 5 stores left, there are 2 left in Florida and 1 in Texas, a total of 3 on the Gulf Coast. And in addition to that, as of May 2nd of 2021, and June 18th of 2023, Florida and Texas are the last 2 states to have a Sears after the Mall of Louisiana location, the last full size store in the state, that opened sometime in 1997 (anyone know when exactly?) closed down, followed by the Sears Home and Life store in Lafayette, then the very last Sears location in the state of Louisiana, that opened on May 24th of 2019.

Neiman Marcus closed its century-old Dallas store. What survives?

Less than a week ago, Neiman Marcus shuttered its original location in Downtown Dallas—a landmark in the city for more than a century. But part of the store's history will live on at another North Texas location.

On Sept. 30, Neiman Marcus officially closed its flagship store at 1618 Main St. in Dallas. Founded in Dallas in 1907, the company has operated from the Main Street location since 1914, after a fire destroyed its original building. Now, Saks Global, Neiman Marcus' parent company, is shifting its focus to its NorthPark Center store, currently under renovation at 8687 North Central Expressway.
